About me
A lovely student who wanted to take up
challenges and pursue her life into the
grand living of being a teacher. Currently
pursuing her degree in Bachelor in
Education (Teaching English as Second
Language at Management and Science
University, it is right for her to put her
dream as a teacher one
day.

Personal Principal in Teaching
My father had always been the reason why I took teaching as one of my dreams to
pursue being a teacher. Starting from the way he teaches, and the way he tried his
best to be a father at the same time. Slowly the way he thinks persuade me to
become who he always showed to me, and make me want to be a reflection of my
father. Being a teacher may sound easy to anyone, yet it is hard to make sure to be a
teacher with passion and want the student to be successful in their life. For me, it is
not always academic and A influenced the mind of a student but another thing as
well. Morality and other way of the concept are seen to be the reason why some
student is taken for granted by other educators. I always wanted to create a better
and safer environment to learn about life and not only in school but in other places
as well, outside of the society of school. All students deserve to learn, and as a
teacher, I'll be there to facilitate them and come when they need me.
OVERALL REFLECTION
Microteaching is a subject that gives me a lot
of exposure before I come across the
internship process for my last semester.
Gaining experience and knowledge, one class
could never be boring. Going through the
classes with many fun activities and looking
through every lesson plan from the other
classmates, even the wonderful creative
teaching aids make me wonder if would I
become creative enough to do a such thing
during the 4 months at school soon and
somehow look at them make me realized it
could be reached pretty soon. Cross fingers I'll
try my best in becoming the teacher I hope I
would be.
WEEK
1
INTRODUCTION
On the first day of the lesson, the class was introduced to the topic of
microteaching. What is microteaching, the word itself, and its deeper
meaning? Many thoughts have been given, and different answers were raised
during the class and I find it intriguing to see. I find how different factors and
input make the word ‘microteaching’ itself from the numbers of participants
and what skills must be added as well. A brief explanation by Madam before
the class ends for the first day, makes me understand more of the concept of
what I’m going through soon.
WEEK
1
KSSM & DSKP
The second day is focusing on the DSKP, Dokumen Standard Kurikulum
Pentaksiran, and how it should be integrated into the lesson plan. One
thing that attention is on page 8 of the book, talking about the four major
themes that are d for English learning. During the KBSM, only three themes
are introduced and the only one that did not fix the chart is consumerism
and financial awareness. The activity that is made for the learners must
have HOTS and uses language skills: reading, writing, listening, and
speaking. During the class, the cross-curricular elements are also
mentioned for the integration into the lesson plan. Madam also showed
how the lesson plan works and some new elements are introduced during
the class.
WEEK
2
LESSON PLAN
After those talks about desktop and kssm for the whole week last week,
Madam Nirmala slowly introduces us to the lesson plan, the main star of
microteaching where all projects will be needing us to make a lesson plan.
It is complicated where everything is needed in there, from the usage of
bloom taxonomy and even the learning standard and content standard,
everything sounds hard at first yet I know it will help me throughout the
semester and also my internship.
WEEK
2
INTRODUCTION
Learning objectives always an important role in the lesson plan
especially when the teacher itself makes it from scratch believe me
or not I had difficulty understanding at first, yet madam generously
gave all of us tips that we may need to make sure our learning
objectives follow the following things from the desktop and who
would have thought I slowly understand how to do so with the
several tips of A, B, C and D. Not to forget, madam give us few tasks
to identify which component is which.
WEEK
3
INDUCTION
Starting the class by showing an
example of set induction. madam
introduced to us a 6-minute long
video to give us a glimpse of how to
start the class. It caught my attention
as soon as the intern student shows
the video to start her class and uses
several teaching aids that are colorful
to catch the attention of the
students. It makes me wonder, am I
capable to introduce the topic for the
students to be captivated to learn
and at the same time make their
attention to me the minute I enter
and introduce the class with a new
topic for the lesson?
WEEK
3
REFLECTION
the focus for the week is making sure
my lesson plan has a better set
induction after those several classes
focusing on ways to make it catch the
attention of the students. Few
comments were given during those
times and I make sure to add mine so
that it'd be completed before the
semester ended. Madam Nirmala also
shared several of my classmates'
lesson plans and it makes me realize
there are so many ways to start the
lesson also few comments were
given while I'm taking notes through
the whole process.
WEEK
4
STIMULUS
VARIATION
Retaining students' attention in class is important, and it has been
taught to us for the week. Various stimulation is given to the class on
how to do so and never thought the ideas captivate me to try some
during the class. Some of the ideas will be used for my mock teaching
and there were several listed for me to use during later on.
WEEK
4
QUESTIONING
TECHNIQUES
in this week we all focusing for the questioning technique, giving
continuation questions to the student. prompting the students to give
answers based on what they understood and also experienced rather
than the question that could be answered with yes or no. Using the
WH and also the bloom taxonomy we could understand this is
important to stimulate the student to be active and make the class
student-centered rather than teacher-centered. Few other strategies
are given, and how to give the other student chances to answer the
questions, this creates an idea whereas this technique is really
important for the teacher to take notice to.
WEEK
4
TEACHING AIDS
A week is given for all of us to do the
teaching aid, and our group did very
well for the first time in this subject.
Creating three different environment,
to indicate three different places and
also for the different language skills to
use we never expected by the end of the
product turned out well just tiny bit
comment, "it looks so small" madam
commented. Truly we admitted that,
especially when we keep an eye to the
others and theirs are so big it caught all
our group members off guard.
Nevertheless we tried our best to give a
try by making our first ever teaching
aids physically by the thought of
making it to be as a scraptbook and it
can be use more than once.
WEEK
5
REINFORCEMENT
STRATEGIES
Never thought I would be learning another theory regarding the
reinforcement method, especially from a microteaching class. Going
through the class for the day, I come to realize it is always important for
the teacher to know the way to reinforce the students either positively
or negatively. Madam Nirmala asked us several questions to see how
based on our prior knowledge we could correlate all of this into our
lesson plan. Many of us mentioned about giving gifts like food could be
a good idea to reinforce the students yet madam mentioned, that there
is no way for us to do so due to the previous current pandemic and
many allergies for the students. Not stopping on that, several ideas are
coming from my classmate that maybe I could try for example giving a
monopoly coupon to the students so they can redeem it at the canteen.
WEEK
5
CLOSURE
The closure for microteaching has
come to its end and who thought the
subject going to wrap up with the
same title itself? Madam Nirmala
focuses on this topic a lot, telling all of
us to always give a good impact when
it comes to closure so the pupils will
keep what they have learned and not
only do the activity. Make it
meaningful and at the same time,
short and simple to give a grand
impact on them. Madam has also given
to us several types of closure for us to
choose and integrate with our lesson
plan later on and a pdf is shared with
us. Before the class ended, all of us
were picked randomly to tell the class
which closure activity we like and why.
A great experience indeed, and many
have given their way to make a closure
during the time and I have taken
several notes for it.
WEEK
5
PROJECT 1
PRESENTATION
The project presentation finally happened for this week, the time we have all
been waiting for to do and show our effort for the past week to create the
teaching aids. Our group decided to go for the extreme situation topic and
guess what came to my mind doing for my lesson plan: a survival box.
Everything starts from scratch. There were 7 items in total and many old
materials that I’ve used to make this teaching aid a success. Not to worry
that was not the only thing I come prepared for. A complete lesson plan is
made, and I mentioned regarding this presentation is done in a group. My
groupmates did well, all of us got such great feedback from madam Nirmala.
Unexpectedly, I’ve gotten the greatest compliment of all time, and truly that
heals my soul for the effort I put into this Microteaching. Truly it is a great
experience.
WEEK
6
MOCKTEACHING
It’s finally here, the mock teaching for the students of microteaching is finally
here and it is my turn to be the teacher for 15 minutes. Many challenges I have
come across throughout the process of completing the lesson. Planning for a
lesson was not easy, not only did the teaching aids, even emotionally send
shivers down my spine. I have gotten the form 5 and listening skills to be my
ground for my lesson and I tried my best to choose which topic suits a short
lesson. Decided to go for crime as my topic for mock teaching, it is safe for me
to say it does help me especially when all of my colleagues at that time loved
the activity I planned for my lesson plan.
Throughout the mock teaching process, there were many shortcomings that I
could not avoid as the limit of time and some errors to play the audio yet it
went smoothly. Yet all of those did not stop me to find enjoyment in the
experience and give me a show of what is going to happen during my
internship. A great experience doing all of
those from scratch especially to be creative
in teaching aids. Could not believe it went
well. Hoping the future would go well!
