PLASTIC MATERIAL FOR PLANTING
‘BEAN SPROUTS’

OBJECTIVE

- Using the recycle materials to protect the environment .
- Producing cookable and healthy ingredients for food .
- Saving money in conjunction with Movement Control Order .

• THERMOSETS : can be remolded
• THERMOPLASTICS: Do not be remolded, can be recycled.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PLASTIC BOTTLES :

Each bottles have their own number in the middle of their landmark:
1. PET (POLYTHYLENE – Strong and light)
2. HDPE (HIGH DENSITY – Can be recycled easily)
3. V (POLYVINYL CHLORIDE – Easy to shape but hard to recycle)
4. LDPE ( LOW-DENSITY POLYETHYLENE – Easy to produce and flexible )
5. PP ( POLYPROPYLENE – Able to cope with high temperatures and strong )
6. PS ( POLYSTYRENE – Poisonous and can not be reused )
7. OTHER ( Made of 2 or more mixed plastic materials )

Ingredients :

1. Benefits of bean sprouts
2. Plastic mineral water bottles (Thermoplastic)

(500ml or 1 litre)
3. A basin with medium size

4. Fresh water
5. Black plastic

PROCEDURES :

1. Wash the green beans cleanly
2. Immerse the green beans under water for 4 hours .
3. Make holes around the bottle for respiration purposes.
4. Fill up 1/4 bottles with the green beans that had been

immersed under the water.
5. Cover the bottles with black plastic
6. Locate the green beans at the suitable area (room temperature

- 37celcius)
7. After a week, green beans are ready to be eaten
