PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Hello and Welcome Back! Laurie Wilhoit

Hope everyone had a great summer — I can’t believe how quickly they fly by! Our board had our
strategic planning meeting in July and have planned a bunch of fabulous activities for the year.

Our theme for 2018/2019 year is GROWING GOOD for our 60th anniversary year! We loved
how this simple theme fit our organization. In the past 60 years, CWC continues to strive to grow
friendships, business connections, and better lives for women and children in need in Lake County with
the help of all of our members. Please remember to renew your membership if you have not done so
already, as memberships run from August – July each year.

Our board is full of amazing women who volunteer their time to
bring us together and make our community stronger. As many
of us on the board count the number of year we have served, we
are looking for people to join us. If you can spend some time
volunteering, please consider joining a committee and/or serving on
the board. Our first official gathering of the year will be Thursday,
September 13th, at Broken Earth Winery in Long Grove. We will
have information there on committees and board positions. Many
of the positions are co-chaired, as not to place an entire event/role
on one person with the busy lives we lead.

Cheers to a great year and we look forward to connecting with you
soon — #CWCGrowingGood

Circle. Knitting? Book Club? Card games?

Marla Shell A circle can be started by any member and center around any interest you might have.
You can decide how often you will meet and what you will do. We can help by
Independent Beauty Consultant publicizing your Circle and helping to build your group from among other CWC
members. It is a great way to meet other women and enjoy something you have in

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

CALLING ALL SPONSORS!

September is the beginning of the CWC year and we look forward to another successful year of fund raising and philanthropy.
One of our most success programs has been partnering with local businesses to support CWC’s mission to help women
and children in Lake County. As a Corporate Sponsor there are numerous way to help us reach our financial goals this year,
including:

Renew your Corporate Sponsorship (CS) with CWC :

This is a quick and easy way to support women and children in need (this program raised over $8000 last year).
If you are not a CS yet, please consider that the donation of $135 includes: your company name on the
cover of our Connections Newsletter (which delivers to over 4000 local households and resides on our website)
and links from our website to yours. We also offer potential opportunities to showcase your business through
additional advertisements such as eblasts at a reduced rate, opportunities to plan a fundraiser at your place of
business, and discounts on ads in the Connections newsletter. If you would like to renew or join please go to
our website: Caringwomensconnection.com, then choose Membership and Join us.

Consider a sponsorship at one of our two showcase events:

The Love Fund Acution is Thursday, October 25. The event is always a sell out with 150+ attendees and is one
of our most successful fundraisers of the year. We are looking for Bar Sponsors, Paddle Sponsors, Table
Sponsors, Mystery Bag Sponsors. There are so many ways to have your business name highlighted at this
popular CWC event. We can be creative if you bring us an idea of what type and level of sponsorship you
are interested in.

In the spring, our fun and inspiring Spring Lunch and Fashion Show is set for Sunday, April 14, at the
Ivanhoe Club and is another sell-out event. Sponsor opportunities abound!

Fundraisers at your business:

A number of our Corporate Sponsors have held some great fundraising events at their business locations that
have been well attended, great fun and a good way for our hosts to show off their businesses. Our team would
be happy to talk with you about an event at your location. These dates fill up fast so please contact us if you are
considering hosting an event to benefit CWC.

Please contact Susan Passaglia at [email protected] 847-370-8282
or Paula Hoerner at [email protected] with any questions or inquires.

Please visit our website and/or Facebook page to learn more how to

support our Corporate Members and raise funds for CWC.
