From the desk of the President
Happy February for a couple more days. If you are like me, the traffic is driving me crazy. But please
keep a cool head and be safe.
Things are happening in Tallahassee. SB 158 and HB 71 are in Committees. As of the last state meet-
ing, motorcycles were not including on these bills but some are hopeful that they will be. Remember to
stay in touch with your state legislators so that they know that motorcyclist need to be a part of this bill.
Speaking of Tallahassee, our Run is coming up soon. State meeting is on the 14th, and the run is on the
15th. Please be a part of this important opportunity to show our elected officials we mean business.
June 1st is our 5 Star event. We are making plans to have a poker run to this event in Estero. Keep an
eye out for that. Also, we are in need of vendors. If you know of any, contact me or Frizz with that in-
fo.
Thanks to Cari for chairing the Preservation Run. Flyer to follow soon.
At March’s meeting, we are hoping to get officer Chris Thomas with his partner to come in and speak
with us again and give us a demonstration. These are always a great event. Please bring guests to the
meeting to show our support for our local Motorcycle Officers.
Ray Erickson spoke with us concerning SW Florida Wounded Vet Run. Please see the flyer for
this. What a good way to show our support for our wounded veterans.
Our Facebook page is doing excellent with its outreach. Have you liked our page? You will get lots of
information on Safety and Awareness there.
Election nominations are in April. Is it your turn? Many positions will be open.
Our next newsletter doesn’t come out til after Easter, so please let me wish you a blessed holiday.
Be safe on the roads,
Lynn Corr
President of Gator Alley

Hey everyone, how you’re doing.

A BIG thanks to Laura Jo for Swamp to the City and organizing the Swamp Buggy rac-
es. Both were a lot of work. Also, thanks to all the volunteers that help Laura Jo at the
Swamp Buggy Races, we couldn’t do what we do without them. This a great income
generator for our chapter, and we need to keep doing this event! If you’ve never helped
with this event, you should check it out next time. You won’t regret it.

Don’t forget that the Ride to the Capitol is coming up quickly, April 15, in Tallahassee.
Our chapter is offering a $100 incentive to help pay expenses if you are interested in at-
tending. But you need to act fast, the hotel is booking up quickly! See the cover flier
for info!

Collier County Motor Patrol is going to be at our March meeting. Be sure to come.
Cpl. Chris Thomas always has some interesting and FUN information for us.

ABATE of Florida state hats available. Working on a new vendor for t-shirts and more.

Hoping to get a group of us to take a casual ride to the Estero chapter meeting on
March 17. I know, it’s St. Pat’s Day, but you can get some green beer when you get
home! Let me know if you are interested.

Elections are starting in April. Many of us on the board will not be running, so please
talk to us to learn more about our positions if you are interested. We cannot have a
chapter without a board . . .

SUNSHINE REPORT — Jan/Feb

Cathy LeBlanc, a Get Well card as she spent some time in the hospital right after the holidays. They
spent some time testing, poking and prodding to try and find a solution for her health issues. Last report is
that they did not find anything life threatening, but they will continue to manage and monitor her condition.
She is a spitfire so you know ain't no doctor man gonna keep her down!
Dave Pappas, a Thinking of You/Get Well card as he was in the hospital with some heart issues. Word
has it that he and his doctors are getting things under control with medication for now. Please let him know
you are praying for him.
The Family of Margaret Waterbury, a Sympathy card for her passing. Margaret and her late husband
Daryl were a long time members from years back and great supporters of Gator Alley in their day. An
open house visitation is scheduled for the weekend of the 19th and 20th. Please stop by if you are able to
pay your respects.
Fred Corr's Twin Sister Nancy Kish, A Sympathy card as she lost her husband after a long battle. She
attended several of our runs and has always enjoyed spending time with Fred, Lynn, and our extended
Biker family. Please keep this family in your prayers.
Bob "Cadillac" Butcher, a Get Well card for his procedure to have a pacemaker implanted. Once again,
he was scolded for not telling us or having a family member tell us. God has a plan for this man, and it's to
keep All Ya'll in check. You are so loved, Cadillac. XOXO
Marcus Hotelling, State BOD Sgt. At Arms, a Sympathy card for the loss of his father. May we all cherish
our parents if they are still with us and God Bless all of those who have had to say goodbye.
SPECIAL MENTION:
Armando Castillo, a bartender at the Golden Gate Tiki was killed by a stray bullet while sitting at home on
his porch. He was a very nice, hardworking young man that was taken far too soon from his family and
friends. That is why we must love like there is no tomorrow because life can be taken away in an instant
through no fault of your own. Be kind always.
Once again, it is yet another cold, flu n' nasty yuk season. Please take care of yourselves by not trying to
"knuckle through" because you will never kick it completely out of your system. Do what you must for pro-
fessional medical treatment and do what you can with natural and herbal remedies to avoid repeat occur-
rences. Stay home when you're sick. That's God's way of telling you that you're burning the candle at both
ends, and you must rest. Your family, employers, coworkers, customers and friends will appreciate you
taking good care of your health so you can get back to being YOU! There are no Heroes when it comes to
the Crud.

Hey Gator Alley members, from your
Safety Director
Short and sweet this month
1.At our last chapter meeting, I spoke about the

MSAP program. I asked who might be interested
in becoming certified. Surprisingly, more than a
few expressed interest. I am following up on that
proposal. I will be discussing more in the next
few months as the Run to the Capitol is happen-
ing soon and that always generates even more in-
terest.
2. So please, if you are interested, get with me to
discuss it. I can help you with the process and let
you know what you need to do to help advance
safety for every rider you relate to out there not to
mention improving your own chances of avoiding
injury.
Just Sayin’
Respectfully yours, Fred Corr

Jesus' Teachings

Jesus started His teachings in Capernaum and around the Sea of
Galilee proclaiming the good news of God. After He had driven an evil
spirit from one man, healed many with sickness, and cured a man of lep-
rosy He was unable to have any time in privacy. People constantly came
to Him for His healing and teaching so He had to stay away from towns in lonely plac-
es. A few days later He came to Capernaum to a house where so many gathered that all
were unable to get inside. A paralytic was brought to Him on a mat by four men who
were not able to get near the house. They took him up on the roof, and made an open-
ing so they could lower him to Jesus. Jesus was impressed by their effort and recog-
nized their faith. Some readings suggest that some of the men may have been disciples.
"When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, Son, your sins are forgiven."
Mark 2:5

Here in Mark, chapter 2 we see arguments between Jesus and the Jewish religious
leaders begin to appear. There were some teachers of the law in the house and they
were thinking; How can this man talk like that, he's blaspheming, only God can forgive
sins. Jesus knew what they were thinking and asked, "which is easier to say; your sins
are forgiven, or get up, take your mat and walk". Jesus also says to the Pharisees, "But
that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins". Mark
2:10. And after that He said to the paralytic, "I tell you, get up, take your mat and go
home". Everyone there was amazed, praising God and said they had never seen such a
thing. We also saw the authority God gave to Jesus when He commanded the evil spirit
to leave the man in Mark, chapter 1.

Jesus refers to Himself as the Son of Man several times in the Book of Mark.
This term is accepted by Orthodox Christianity as referring to His Messiahship. We
know He is our Messiah. The term is found in other sources such as Daniel 7:13.
There we read, "In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like the
son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and
was led into his presence". God's power was given to one "like a man" in the form of
Jesus.
