February 2017 Bulletin

Galilee Church
45425 Winding Road
Sterling, VA 20165

Welcome

A Message from Pastor Jason New to Galilee?
Dear Friend,
The famous playwright Arthur Miller Let us know you’re here by filling out
once said, “In every good drama, a Connection Card in worship.
there’s something that makes people
say ‘Hey, that’s me!’” We identify with
characters in a story at an emotional
level—almost at the level of the soul.
I think that’s why when Jesus taught,
he didn’t use deep philosophy. He
used stories. Christ’s stories, or
parables, are small masterpieces of
literature. More importantly, they
illustrate fundamental truths that
speak to our condition today.
Join us this month at Galilee as we
investigate Jesus’s parables. You
might just recognize yourself in
them!
In Christ,

Jason Duley, Pastor We’d love to know you better and tell
[email protected] you about ministries and groups that

may interest you.

The Chapel at Lansdowne Woods

A Message from Pastor Matt Everyone Is Welcome!
Dear Friend,
Jesus said, “I am the vine; you are the Chapel Worship Service:
branches.” (John 15:5). It’s the vine Sundays at 10am
that produces the fruit, but guess
what? There are no grapes without 19375 Magnolia Grove Square
the branches! It is through you that Lansdowne, VA 20176
Christ does his work.
Do you see, then, why it is so
important for you to develop your
faith by participating in worship, in
the regular study of the word of
God, in intentional prayer, and in
fellowship with other believers in
service for Christ in the world?
Within the pages of this pamphlet are
a myriad of ways you can connect to
the vine and be a branch. It may be
winter, but make this your month to
bear good fruit. Christ is counting on
you!
Rejoice!

Matt Sergent, Associate Pastor

Sundays: Friends in Faith

Studying: The God Who is There

It can no longer be assumed that most people--or even most Christians-
-have a basic understanding of the Bible. Many don’t know the difference between
the Old and New Testament, and even the more well-known biblical figures are often
misunderstood.

In this basic introduction to faith, D. A. Carson takes seekers, new Christians, and small
groups through the big story of Scripture. He helps readers to know what they believe
and why they believe it.
