Hi,
I am
Nona.
Kampung Mawar
Hi, my name is Nona. I am a 12-year-old kid from a small village called
Kampung Mawar. You guys might be wondering why our hometown was
named Mawar, right? Many years ago, my great grandfather found a
bunch of Bunga Mawar at his paddy field. He then took the flower and
brought it home to tell the villagers. Thus, that is how the name of my
village came to be.
My father My

a nurse.
policeman.
I lived with my grandfather and
grandmother since I was six years old. My
parents worked far from our hometown, so
they seldom came home to visit us.
I am
Sarah.
I enjoyed living in the village rather than living in the city. I can
play many games with my village friends. We always play in the
evening. My best friend is Sarah. She is one year older than
me. Sarah and I went to the school together every day.
Eleven years later, we both continued our studies at different universities.
Sarah got a chance to study a medical course at University Malaysia
Sarawak, UNIMAS. I was one of the lucky students selected to continue my
studies at the University of Oxford, England. That is where my story begins.
University of Oxford UNIMAS
My first year was challenging because I did not have any relatives living in
England. I practiced being an independent student for the whole week. I
was also surprised by the living culture of the people there. The weather
there was so cold that made I missed my warm and windy hometown so
much. After a week of going to college, I made some friends from my class.
They were so happy to be friends with me even though I was from another
country.
During mid-sem breaks, my friends and I went to some places to
spend time on vacation. I like to explore new places and learn about
their history and culture. I also gained many experiences through the
vacay.
After struggling for many years, I managed to
finish my studies. What makes me even happier is,
I get offered to work in Australia in business
analytics. Finally, I can buy my own house and car
after a long journey of studying. I also give my
parents money to buy anything they want.
Moral of the story:
The moral value of this story is we should never be scared to
try something new. If we get a chance to study far, we should
accept and fight for it. There is nothing easy in this world.
Everything we do need determination and effort.
Words definition
Wondering characterized by or expressive of a desire to know something; curious.
Universities a high-level educational institution in which students study for degrees and
academic research is done.
Challenging demanding
Independent not depending on another for livelihood
Mid-sem breaks A break (frequently, week-long) in classes taking place somewhere between the
end of the first third and start of the last third of a semester
Struggling striving to achieve or attain something in the face of difficulty or resistance
Business Taking in and processing historical business data
analytics
Determination the quality of being determined; firmness of purpose
The End.
I hope you enjoy
the story and
thank you!
