Grammar Focus : Personal Pronouns

What are pronouns?
We use personal pronouns when we want to refer to people (including ourselves),
animals, plants or things. In Bahasa Malaysia, pronouns are known as ‘kata ganti
nama’. For example: saya, anda, mereka, kami.

D. Sarah and Serina are baking their peanut cookie using
their Inik’s recipe. Read the recipe and complete the
grocery list.

INIK’S PEANUT COOKIE RECIPE

INGREDIENTS
•4 cups ground roasted peanuts
•1 cup icing sugar
•1 cup peanut oil
•2 tablespoons butter
•2 cups all-purpose flour
•1 egg yolk, beaten slightly for egg wash

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Mix the ground peanut, sugar, oil, butter and flour
together until well combined.
2. Shape it into small balls.
3. Arrange it on a baking sheet lined with
parchment paper.
4. Brush the top of each cookie with the egg wash.
5. Bake the peanut cookies at 180°C for 20 minutes
or until brown.
6. Remove from the oven and let cool.
7. Store the peanut cookies in an airtight container.
