The American Podiatric Medical Stu-
dents' Association is composed of all
podiatric medical students across the
United States. The APMSA represents
student concerns to the APMA and var-
ious bodies under its jurisdiction. The
Ohio delegation represents OCPM at all
APMSA national meetings. At the local
level APMSA encourages student in-
volvement, political activism, and com-

AAWP

The American Association for Women Po-
diatrists is composed of professionals and
preprofessionals who are engaged in the prac-
tice or research of Podiatric Medicine and
Foot Surgery. The AAWP provides a frame-
work within podiatry where the organization
can help network with each other and with
other professionals organizations. They also
have a scholarship for students based on fi-
nancial need and academic excellence. The
AAWP serves as a forum for communication,
education and an organization to share com-
mon interests in podiatry.

The American College of Foot and
Ankle Surgeons is an organization for
students to gain some knowledge about
the practice of surgery procedures.
Some of the activities include a casting
workshop and a suturing workshop. Dr.
Kushner, Dr. Seisel, Dr. Spencer, and
Dr. Herbert have been special guest lec-
tures for the club.

The sports medicine club sponsors lectures
on sports medicine, participates in local ath-
letic events and promotes good athletic train-
ing. This year they held various meetings
with hands-on experience. They look forward
to volunteering their services at a few of the
summer marathons.

DERMATOLOGY CLUB

Officers: James Fletcher and George Silver The American Society of Podiatric Derma-
tology or the "derm club" was founded at
O.C.P.M. to further the education of derma-
tology among the students. In its goals are a
commitment to expand the general knowl-
edge base, providing the support to conduct
research, and allowing students to develop
their clinical skills. Through lectures, work-
shops, and research presentations members
further their abilities while developing a
spirit of fellowship with other professionals.
The organization's greatest aspiration is that
skills learned through ASPD sponsorship will
go on to benefit the community and the pro-
