Bio
Growing up on the Essex-Suffolk border, Alexander spent his childhood in Constable country. He has been painting in oils since the age of 18 and continued to paint throughout his History degree at the University of Warwick and during a career in advertising. After a decade working in London, Alex made the decision to train as a professional artist.
From 2013 to 2015 Alexander studied at Charles H. Cecil Studios in Florence, Italy where his training was based on drawing and painting from life, using the centuries-old sight- size technique. The traditional look and feel of his work is a clear indication of the painting styles that inspire him the most; the Dutch Golden Age and work of the British 18th Century.
This exhibition brings together a stunning collection of Debenham’s still life paintings which will adorn the gallery walls from 18th January - 5th February.
