Good afternoon to all and welcome to the Forest “We’ll have to

anticipated FA Trophy tie. progress even
I would like to extend my warmest of welcomes to
Pickering, a team we have already hosted this season further.”
in what was a close 2-1 victory for us in our first ever
game in the Evo-Stik League.
That victory was another piece of history made for us,
and today we yet again set another benchmark with
what has been a great first taste of the FA Trophy.
Going on to beat Hednesford on their own turf in the
previous round was something special, and it was no
more than we deserved with such a fantastic
performance worthy of reaching the next round.
We’ll have to be at our best again today to progress
even further, the same for every single game we’ve
played so far this season. We are in a league where
anyone can beat anyone, and for both ourselves and
Pickering we have most certainly realised that.
It was utterly heart-breaking not to take three points
from Tadcaster last weekend. We defended
absolutely superbly throughout the game and that
defensive performance was worthy of a win, but we
were so cruelly denied in injury time by a team
which did deserve something too. Hopefully we can
use that great performance as inspiration for today’s
game, as we will need every bit of grit and desire
that we showed last Saturday.
I look forward to this encounter, and I expect it to be
another hot contest between two very good teams.
Thank you for your support as always, and have a
safe trip home.
Enjoy the game.

in an electric game of football at the i2i

Assistant manager Mark Ward was
disappointed not to get the win: “It feels like a
loss.

“We defended well enough to take three
points.

“Taddy put us under a lot of pressure, they
played some decent football but the lads
matched them with their work rate and
desire.

“As a team and as a unit we’ve got a good
shape about us.

“It’s disappointing but we were solid as a
team, and hopefully we’ll continue as we have
been in these last three games and the wins
will start coming.”
