Good afternoon to all, and welcome to the Forest Town Arena “

for our Northern Premier League East Division clash with Ossett
United.

I would like to welcome all who have made the hour-long trip from
Ossett today, and I wish them a safe journey back after the game.

It has certainly been a tough few weeks for us over September.
Losing three league games on the trot with an FA Cup exit in
between is never an easy thing to get over, but we have been very
reassured by some great performances which unfortunately went
unrewarded on a few occasions.

At Pontefract last weekend, we could have won the game with one
less man on the pitch for almost the entire game, and if not for a
couple of defensive errors we would have taken all three points
from Cleethorpes instead of just one.

What is pleasing to myself and my staff is that we are always
competing well in every game we play in this division. If it wasn’t for
some silly mistakes at times, we could easily have seven or eight
more points on the board than we do right now.

We have fantastic group of players with great character, and we
believe that there is more to come from us yet.

There is no easy game in this division, but we know that we
cannot afford any more mistakes if we are to get a good result
today against Ossett, who sit fourth in the table and have the
league’s best defence so far. If we play how I know we can
play, I know that we can overcome our opponents.

Let’s hope for a fantastic game this afternoon, and a positive
result for AFC Mansfield.

Enjoy the game, thank you for your continued support and
have a safe journey home.

A “proud” Rudy Funk had no complaints
despite controversial refereeing decisions
overshadowing AFC Mansfield’s heated 3-

the Bulls had two men sent off.
