On The Tennis Courts
By Arlene Eisenberger and Mona Margolin

Tennis Color War:

What is a Tennis Color War? Each person is assigned a Team Color: RED,
BLUE, GREEN AND WHITE. They are requested to wear a top or shirt the
color of their team. Once checked in, the games began.

The fun started out with Shelley and Barry Mark holding 4 different timed
relay races. One of the relay races had two people placing a noodle between
their legs and moving together, zigzagging between little orange cones. Gail
Reilly, Joan Sommers, Shelley Mark and Edie Rubin kept the scores.

Teams then went to their designated courts and played two, 4 game sets and
then recorded their scores with Sandy Z, Sandy Goldberg and Joanne Sacoff.

Other non-playing team members were given puzzles that were also timed
to keep their minds exercised.

Thank you to our shoppers, helpers and chefs for a memorable event.
When the games were over, the odor of the BBQ made everyone so hungry.
Bob Long, Joe Cirella and Mark Kreisler were our famous chefs, serving us
with every kind of sausage, chicken and all the fixings.
Bob Long, Mary Matarazzo, Shelly Propper, and Dave Perlstein, shopped
for this lavish morning. Nelson Sommers and Dan Halprin picked up ordered
food at Publix.
Shelley and Barry Mark were so creative, as they put together all the relay
races. Thank you to Lenny Tattenbaum for ending our event with his clever
“Simple Simon” game.
Tables, chairs, ice etc. were set up by Jim Halpin, John Reilly and Jerry
Krams.
Also, behind the scenes was the Recreation and Maintenance Departments,
who get us ready for all our set up equipment.
The Winners: Everyone was a winner, as we were so evenly divided, that
everyone received a prize.

Fast forward: Through the dedication of its volunteers, the generosity of its

The JAFCO Children’s Village can hold up to 52 children: 16 in its
