ACP- 3D Modeling and Rendering

ACP

gage the classrooms on their visual and spatial skill prior to us getting started. This
information will guide me on developing a strategy for the rest of the course so I can
help every student succeed.

Another thing I’ve learned in this class was the BOPPPS method of lesson
planning. I’ve never used or hear of this method before, but quickly became a fans of it.
I did enjoy developing through class work each letter of the acronym. I understood how
each of the bridge-in, my favorite one, would grab the class’s interest from the first day.
The bridge-in I plan on using is a YouTube video on the amazing things that are being
3D printed. I will then ask the students to choose one they like and explain why. Paired
with the BOPPPS method was the Bloom’s Taxonomy. This method of teach was based
on 6 main categories: Knowledge, Comprehension, Application, Analysis, Synthesis,
and Evaluation. We were taught how to use this method to create objectives and
classroom question. The questions I was accustom to creating was just knowledge
base. By the end of that module, I was able to create question that will make the
students think on a higher level. When I ask these questions, I have to remember the
rule of allowing three to five seconds for someone in the class to answer.

Reflecting back on this class, I think it was a rewarding experience. As far as
changing some things, I would warn people that this course can be very time
consuming. Let people know that there will be weekly readings, assignments, and
online participation along with the bi-weekly meeting. Also, some people are strictly
online instructors, so let them know that they will have to do a presentation in front of
the class. I think this course could benefit from a section on types of learners. I took a
similar class to this one at my full-time job, and received a huge advantage for learning
this. I learned out of the four types of learners, which are visual, auditory, reading /
writing, and kinesthetic, that I was kinesthetic. This let me know that I learn better with a
hands-on approach. When I was in that class, the instructor gave me stress balls and
other objects to play with while I was listening. At the end of the class, I learned so
much more and was able to follow along better all because I was able to keep my hand
busy during lectures.
