Egyptian adventure
It all started off when a young boy who wanted a little adventure in
his dull, boring life set out to Egypt. The boy’s name was John.
When he reached the border of Egypt. “There” he thought “is the
land of Pharos, pyramids and mysteries. John went to the town of
Cairo where he heard there was a trip to find the lost tomb of
Amenhotep III or something like that. Later on his way back from
buying some food and other supplies, he glimpsed a run-down
poster out of the corner of his eye. Quickly he ran towards it.
“Hurry up and join us now!
Trip to find the lost treasure of Tutankhamun!
Meet up point: The old market
Date: 24th of January
Time: 12:00pm”
“Wait a minute” John said “that’s today!” John glanced at his watch
which read 11:50am Hastily John packed his things and slung his
back pack over his shoulder. Then he darted his way over to the old
market. Unfortunately for him by the time he reached there it was
too late. The group had left without him…
Sadly John trudged back to his temporary home. On his way back
the wind brought to him another poster. This one read
“Hurry up and join us now!
Trip to find the lost tomb of Tutankhamun!
Meet up point: The museum of Pharos
Date: 24th of January
Time: 12:30pm”
John was not going to let this opportunity go to waste. Instead of
running. He hired a taxi and asked the driver to take him to the
museum. When they arrived John quickly fished some money out
of his rucksack, handed it to the driver and ran like the wind up the
stairs. “Keep the change” he yelled as he ran.
Panting and sweating John arrived at the museum. He found the tour group
and joined them. He then shoved and pushed his way to the front, where he
heard the leader say
“Ladies and gentlemen. We are gathered here to go on an adventure. You
must be brave. We are going to go and find the lost tomb of Tutankhamun.
The trip will take days and we will be out in the scorching, dry, barren desert.
If we do manage to find the tomb of Tutankhamen, I must say almost nothing
but death awaits. It will probably be full of dangerous traps which will kill you
painfully. On a more positive note, if it is the tomb of Tutankhamen it will be
full of treasure and priceless artefacts which we will be distributed evenly
amongst the group. I will tell you once before we leave. If any of you want to
abandon this tour do it now.”
At least half off the group trudged off scared of the danger which lay ahead.
The rest of them (including john) followed the leader, who was already
heading to the other exit. John thought to himself nervously if he seriously
wanted to do this…
Outside a bus was waiting. As soon as they all were seated the bus lurched
forward. John looked behind me and saw the city of Cairo shrink away. John
was finally going on an adventure. As he peered out the window and absent-
mindedly stared at the sand dunes. He thought to himself about what was
going to happen next…
After an hour or so John noticed something strange jutting out of one of the
sand dunes. He swiftly alerted the leader who stopped the bus immediately.
They all jumped of the bus and started following him to where he noticed
something unusual. When he pointed out the piece rock the instructor
gasped. He stood there for at least five seconds before exclaiming “You’ve
done it! You’ve found the tomb of Tutankhamen!” he zoomed back into the
bus and brought a machine which looked like a leaf- blower. “Yay!” someone
shouted. “We only have to wait 100 years before we blow all the sand away.”
The Leader then furiously replied “Whoever said that is stupid. Of course it
would take forever with a leaf- blower, but I’ve added a turbo – engine to this
one so it blows much faster. Everyone stand back!”
Then without another word he cranked the dial to max and a violent jet of air
came out and cleared the entrance in seconds. “This is it!” he bellowed “turn
back now while you can. Or if you’re brave enough follow me” some people
cracked under the pressure and headed back to Cairo in the bus. John and
the other few people followed the leader down the dark, gloomy tunnel…
Inside the tunnel it was pitch black. The leader quickly ignited a torch and
John noticed the other torches along the wall. He called out for the torch
which was swiftly handed to him, he then lighted one of the torches and
almost magically all the rest lit up. John took the lead as they continued
down the dusty cracked tunnel.
Suddenly John noticed a group of tiles on the floor. Unfortunately before he
could call out someone stepped on the tile. Then a volley of poisoned darts
flew out from a secret hole in the wall. The darts landed in four people’s
bodies. They all died screaming with pain. Everyone was now petrified.
John studied each and every tile carefully and then realised there was mini
Egyptian hieroglyphics on each one. (If you don’t know what hieroglyphics
are let me tell you. They are Egyptian symbols which represent a
language). The leader came to the front and read the symbols. Each row
said animals’ names. On one row it read cheetah, dog and bird. On the next
it read giraffe, rhino and lion.
John thought about this puzzle for a long time. Then a concept originated
inside his head “there is always one member of the cat family.” He took off
his shoe and carefully dropped on the tile which read cheetah. Then he
leaped backwards. All of the group waited a couple of seconds but nothing
happened. “Phew!” John whispered. He wore his shoe and commanded
that everyone should follow him. Step by step they crossed the corridor.
When they finally crossed the trap they arrived in a small room with no way
out. Confused the remaining tomb raiders looked at John and the leader
suddenly the entrance sealed by itself. Then the walls started closing
in. They were going to be squished to death…
John shouted “Everyone remain calm. Try and find some kind of secret
exit.” Two people were pushing against the walls trying to stop them from
bringing death. Unfortunately their efforts were in vain. The leader suddenly
pressed against a tile which sunk in. A tunnel suddenly appeared out of
nowhere, but the walls did not stop squeezing. John and the leader were
the first ones out swiftly followed by most of the group, however two people
were trapped. They both cried “go on without us!”
The group now only consisted of five people. The final five wandered down
one corridor. The leader said the treasure room is just beneath us.
Suddenly one person tripped over a tripwire. A huge rumbling sound was
heard behind them. They all glanced back to see a huge boulder hurtling
towards them. They all started running.
The boulder was catching up with them quickly. They zoomed down stairs
only to find a massive gap waiting for them. “Jump!” John cried. Only John
and the leader made. The rest of the group fell down into the darkness
followed by the boulder.
Finally John and the leader entered the treasure room. Inside lay mountains
of gold and other precious stones. In the middle of the room lay two golden
crown. They left the room rich. The End!

FIFA 17
Yes. Another FIFA game.
FIFA 17 is the latest version of the FIFA games
for the PS4, XBOX and other console platforms. There
has been many reviews and articles about FIFA 17 as
well as it’s advantages and disadvantages. Let’s get
started.
ADVANTAGES. First off, the improved
animations from the previous game, FIFA 16. This
time, the animators had increased in artistic skill and
made the animations look more life-like as if your
favourite football stars actually recorded the whole
gameplay. Next, the stunning light and presentation.
Now this is a very important thing when it comes to
games with stunning animation. As most of us know,
awesome animations need stunning lighting and
presentation in order to have an AWESOME GAME!
Here's an
example of a
character's
visual
quality>>>
DISADVANTAGES. Although the quality of the visual
design has really improved from the last game, the
gameplay has not improved a whole lot. For example,
when you are in defense mode, the controls for the
defending is still tricky and hard for players. This
would result in you losing to the other team. Next
would be that there is still really complicated controls
for the whole game. I myself do not know about the
gameplay, but I do know that the controls are
complicated. Just like the exams if you didn’t study for
it.

Tattletail
A FURBY PARODY
Imagine that you were a kid in 1998, that would mean
that you have a very good chance of receiving a Furby for
Christmas. Or in this case, a Tattletail. Which is basically a type
of Furby in the 90’s. You are deathly afraid of Tattletail,
probably because it somehow went off in the middle of the
night, walking around and asking you to take care of it like a
real life pet.
The player would find their Christmas gift and open it
early, only for it to start yapping and go looking for trouble. If
that wasn’t enough trouble, the Mama Tattletail that was said
to be SOLD OUT on the trailer would be wandering around,
looking for blood, and you look like the perfect target on each
five nights before Christmas.
tattletail is
available on
steam for SR
17
The main objective of the game is to wake up
every midnight for five nights in a row before Christmas to
take care and play with your Christmas present. Tattletail.
Although you have to take care and play with it,
someone else wants to join the fun as well. Who doesn’t
like a bundle of scares before Christmas? But be careful
because MAMA IS COMING ~

FINDING DORY
A story about a fish with brain damage
The universe was taken by storm when the movie
“Finding Nemo” starring Nemo, a tiny clownfish ready to
explore, his father, Marlin and their hilarious friend,
Dory, who struggles with memory loss came out with a
sequel 13 years later. Finding Dory was released to the
public on July 18, 2016 and was an instant hit.
The story still has the same characters we know
and love except Dory takes the lead. In an attempt to find
her long lost parents Dory sets off on an adventure using
her funny memory gaps as an advantage.
The plot is basically the journey of Dory setting
out on her own to find the family she had never had. Doing
so she leaves Marlin and Nemo to worry and come along
after her. Dory swims to an Ocean Institute and along the
way Dory befriends an escape from the Ocean institute.
An amusing squid named Hank makes an unforgettable
entrance into our forgetful friend’s life.
Follow Dory, the iconic Blue Tang, on her way
to an adventure to find her family. A tear jerking,
heartfelt and belly rolling story no human should miss.

Bullying Stops Here!
Throughout the 6th and 7th grade a fellow peer or even myself would get
bullied. In my former school situated in Islamabad, a boy ("A") would get
bullied both verbally and physically. "A" was oppressed on account of his
petite stature. No one knew what a difficult position he was in, "A" was
affected both emotionally, and this distracted him from his main priorities. "A"
persuaded his parents to allow him to transfer schools. Seeing that his
academic performance was slowly plummeting, they agreed, with no
questions asked. For a week "A" had been absent which was peculiar as he
was rarely absent or tardy. Two days later, I caught a glimpse of a meeting
taking place in the principal’s office. "A" was crying and was explaining to the
principal that he was transferring schools due to bullying. The principal dealt
with the matter awfully casually which was never followed by any serious
action. "A" had left.
In 7th grade, I too was bullied for having shorter hair than usual. I donated 12
inches of my hair to cancer patients after which at school, students in the 9th
and 10th grade called me, "bald" and said that I needed a hair transplant. I
took these comments lightly but I realized how "A" felt he had no one to
discuss how he felt with, and had to continuously suppress his emotions. As
the school didn't seem to be making much of an impact anyhow, I formed a
student body known as the "Anti- bullying Club". Students from any grade
could come and discuss anything that seemed to be disturbing them. It helped
more people than we expected, especially students in 4th and 5th grade. It
gave us a sense of leadership and at the same time other students didn't feel
they had no one to talk to, and it was easier talking to someone closer to your
own age. If the matter was too serious we would bring it to the school's
attention. It left a big impact and helped many.

The Coming Storm
I wake to the sound of breathing that isn't my own. It's heaving, like a
man and rapid as if he's run into the room. I listen, still, trembling. He's
moving slowly, his heavy feet creaking floorboards. It’s Jacob.
Though my eyes are open, I can’t think of why my heart is pounding. I
strain into the utter darkness, as my breathing rate is beginning to
steady. Jacob, shaking with terror, briefs me. We have to climb a tree. I
find this amusing since he finds climbing trees a waste of time unless
its to pick pecan nuts and nectarines. I give him a concerned face, but
he ignores me and hastily runs to the front of the house. Unable to
make sense of our circumstances, I stumble out of bed and hit the
ground to feel a searing pain in my mouth. I rush to my feet and blindly
follow Jacob into the darkness.
A brumal breeze blew through my hair, as rain hammered against the
rocks. This was certainly not the day to be caught in a downpour. As
the cliff crumbled under our feet, Jacob, grabs me by the arm and pulls
me up a hill just off the seashore. On top of which, stood a strong, and
thick Elm tree. Hiking up, my soft gown tore against the harsh rocks.
Jacob makes it up before me, and beckons me to hurry. He places his
hands under my damp shoes to give me a boost. Looking up I see a
canopy of leaves scathed by the coming storm. A strong branch looms
over my head; I can reach it if I jump. The rough knots up the tree ooze
sap that smells and feels like sticky caramel toffee when it’s fresh. My
hands begin to itch as I continue to climb up the flaky, and rough
skinned tree. The ground is only feet away, but I can feel my heart
thumping. The smell of sweet dew from the glistening leaves fills my
nostrils. The wind blows. I feel that I am soaring. The leaves are my
wings, ruffling, as I am carried off the Earth. I look up, the canopy of
leaves now below me, the sky’s elegant peacock blue shade was
transforming into a starless, gravel grey sky. I fluttered in the wind like
a thread, when promptly, lightning lashed across the pitch-black sky,
and waves began to pound against the jagged rocks.
. My screams echoed, the sounds resembling an animal more than that
of a human at the sight of Jacob’s body falling to the ground and being
caressed by the violent waves. The dense water rises up the tree
rapidly. A whirlpool of clouds blankets the sky, and the downpour speeds
up.
My tree. The tree Jacob picked to save my life, before his own, is
uprooted. The aggressive waters toss the branch I am clinging on to for
dear life. My legs are tired and I’m struggling to bring myself back up to
see the mercy overhead. Breaking to the surface again, I gulp the
summer air, and within a splash I’m under again. This time I sink faster. I
can no longer hold me breath. The cold water rushes in. All hope for
surviving is gone. Soon enough, the oxygen deprivation erases my
thoughts of the inky firmament, or the sequenced stars, or that Jacob
sacrificed himself for me. Gradually I float away to a water grave.
