Gu est Lobby Artist Judi King, Photo Artist

King’s discovery of digital photography began six years ago, after a
lifetime of painting and sketching as a hobbyist. Photography, combined
with a life-long love of the shape, color, lines and design of automobiles
has taken her to car shows, 50’s cruises and into fields and barns to
photograph vintage autos. Her focus is on the beautiful, smooth lines of
automobiles and anything she can photograph in primary colors.

King completed the series of photographs now hanging in the La Crosse Community
Theatre Gallery in 2008. More recently she completed a new stylized series of photographs
of La Crosse historic sites. King and her husband, Ralph, live in La Crescent MN.

Please note: the show will what it actually is. Alfred Uhry’s play and

many of the expectations that some people
La Crosse Community Theatre presents have for it. Rather, this is a play about the
journey of a friendship, how it began, the

was not without some controversy. Critics Alfred Uhry was inspired to write the play by

The nay-sayers of the film, however, are and say “Get a move on, Miss Daisy.” (I
more interested in what it is not than in know you’ve done it, I sure have.)

While at the time, Do the Right Thing may

Driving Miss Daisy remains more universal.
We all grow old, we all lose loved ones, and
we never stop seeking out people who touch
our lives. This is the universal journey. This
play touches on these themes and speaks
to all ages and groups. To date, Alfred Uhry
is the only person to win a Pulitzer, Tony,
and Oscar for dramatic writing, all for this
play. That was 21 years ago. Miss Daisy and
Hoke are still driving and show no sign of
stopping, unless it’s to pick up some Dutch
Cleanser at the Piggly Wiggly.

Jake just can’t seem to get the
women in his life out of his head.

Jake, a successful novelist, copes with a marital crisis by daydreaming
about the women in his life. His wildly comic and moving flashbacks are
interrupted by visitations from actual females. Jake’s women include a
revered first wife, who is dead, his daughter, his bossy sister, his analyst,
his current wife, who is leaving Jake, and a prospective third wife. Jake
and his women deliver some of the funniest lines of the season!
