Mission Accomplished

The mission of La Crosse Community Theatre is to improve and enrich
the quality of life in the 7 Rivers Region through theatre education
and live performances. How do we accomplish our mission? We do so
with every rehearsal, with every School of Theatre Arts class, with every
theatrical performance LCT enriches and improves the quality of life for
the people who volunteer and for the people, like you, who come to LCT to
experience live theatre.
Our volunteer cast and crew learn about theatre, but it’s the experience
that enriches their lives. Tonight, our volunteer actors, ranging in age from
10 to adulthood, will experience live theatre by performing for you. Their
lives have been enriched by the bonding and building of new friendships,
with cast and crew, throughout weeks of rehearsals. They have dissected
and interpreted the script, they have learned about values and life lessons
through the characters they portray…this is how LCT accomplishes its
mission. This is La Crosse Community Theatre, life on stage.

Winter classes begin January 11, 2010! Register NOW!

She needed a driver. He needed a job.
Neither expected to find a friend.

Having just wrecked another car, Daisy Wertham, a rich, sharp-
tongued Jewish widow is informed by her son that she must rely on the
services of a chauffeur. The person he hires for the job is a thoughtful
black man named Hoke whom Miss Daisy instantly dislikes. He, in
turn, is not impressed with his employer’s patronizing tone and latent
prejudice. In a series of absorbing scenes spanning twenty-five years,
the two grow ever closer as they discover a friendship that transcends
their differences.
