September 10-26, 2010 gang violence in both Los Angeles and New York
LCT’s 47th season – 309th production provided the perfect backdrop to revisit the long
defunct project. They called Robbins, who was

“What’s that, art?” is on display in the theater lobby during
West Side Story. The artist, Dale Montgomery, began painting
after retiring from UW-La Crosse in 1999. When he began to
experiment with drip painting and abstract expressionism (ala
Jackson Pollock style), a close friend asked him, “What is that?”
Montgomery responded, “It is color, texture, lines, movement
and fun. Each piece is original and unique.” Montgomery has
exhibited his art in several La Crosse galleries and in venues in Madison, Mineral Point
and Black River Falls.
