This same team uses state of the art property management
software to manage leads and bookings. Once a booking
takes place, automatic emails alert guests of payment
schedules and other important information before their
arrival. There is even a free guest app jam-packed
with tools like a local business directory and
individualized travel information that can be
shared among all the members of a party.
At select properties (available to all those
with wifi access), guests are greeted with a
travel attendant portal every time they log onto the
property’s wifi. The portal is an easy and convenient way
for guests to send any housekeeping or maintenance

Frequently Asked Questions

Long Term or Short Term?

We have a property management team that can assist you with deciding in which market your home
should participate. Most long term rentals are one year leases. If your home is unfurnished this is
your best option for our long term market as well as those that are off the beaten path. If your home
is oceanfront, second row or even beach walk there is potential for a better option in the short term
market.

We advertise each week in the State Port Pilot listing available rentals, referring potential folks to
call or go to our website at www.LongTermAtTheBeach.com with unlimited photos and property
descriptions. In addition to Oak Island Accommodations’ website, we also list available properties on
www.Zillow.com, www.Trulia.com, and www.HotPads.com.

What process does a potential client go through before
renting a home?

Anyone interested is welcome to come to our office and pick up a key to look at your property. Once
a prospective tenant decides they would like to rent your home, they complete a rental application
along with an application fee. Oak Island Accommodations then checks references, credit, etc. and if
everything is in order we then move forward with the lease, security deposit, and any other necessary
forms. Security deposits are equal to one month’s rent. All payments, maintenance requests, etc. are
handled through our office.
