The Night Dweller
Martin Liew is an avid photographer who makes photographs at night in his homeland
Singapore. Martin’s nocturnal journey started in 2004 with a roll of Kodak TMAX 400 and
an old Seagull TLR camera. He has since progressed from film to digital (still shoots film),
making monochrome and color images, and keeps on exploring and experimenting in the
nocturnal genre with great passion. Martin’s curiosity goes from wanting to see how a
urban nightscape would look like either captured on film or digitally, to venturing into deep
darkness at abandoned places doing light paintings His body of work says a lot about his
passion and why he loves what he does.
