EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

With my job application as a Junior Town Planner, I hope to further my management and
planning abilities and knowledge. I am a driven recent graduate in urban and regional
planning who is eager to learn more. I also have experience within the scope through an
internship and part time job with IIUM Consultancy Sdn. Bhd. and SA Planning Services.

I have strong leadership and teamwork skills, and I have no trouble adjusting to new
situations. As the sectoral leader for my studio, it is my responsibility to guide my team in
completing the task at hand throughout the entire semester. Through independent study, I
can also adjust to new software. I am also proficient in using programmes like Microsoft
Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe
Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effect, Adobe Illustrator, AutoCAD, Sketch Up, and MapInfo.
Aside from that, I was also involved in the Shah Alam 32-storey service apartment
projects' collection of a Social Assessment Impact survey.

During my internship at IIUM Consultancy Sdn. Bhd, I was hired as a Research Assistant
on two projects, including study of proposals and drafting Waqf property housing
development act and research on the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) masterplan in the
management and implementation sector (control & Licensing). I am extremely passionate
about obtaining the position of junior town planner and am looking forward to opportunities
to maximise my management and planning knowledge and skills in order to benefit the
neighbourhood.

INTERNSHIP

PREPARING A PROPOSAL FOR ECRL’S PROJECT ON MANAGEMENT AND
IMPLEMENTATION

Description of the tasks
Preparing a proposal for ECRL’s project on management and implementation is being
prepared as a references to provide advice and consultation on town and country planning
legislation and related acts. Besides, it also acts as an appropriate method to integrate the
proposal of this study into the existing Development Plan. Lastly, this study Formulate
implementation to increase financial resources in the ECRL construction area.

Objective of the Tasks
To identify the functions and roles of stakeholders;
To review relevant policies, guidelines and legal provisions;
To review development governance
To propose development and management mechanisms, implementation methods,
standards and implementation resources.

REVIEW OF PROPOSALS & ENACTMENT OF LAND DEVELOPMENT ACT
(WAQF LAND DEVELOPMENT)

Description of the tasks
Ministry of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government has appointed IIUM
Entrepreneurship and Consultant Sdn Bhd as the selected consultant to do research and
provide a legal framework for regulating the Housing Development Act (amendment) There
are few scope of study that has been outlined by the client in the given Term of References for
this project which has been provided in the Appendices section in this report. In addition, the
trainee’s job scope is to help with the study and any related task to this project.

Objective of the Tasks

Review of proposals & Enactment of Land Development act (Waqf Land Development)and
the existing Regulations;
Identify and analyse key issues related to regulation and law in the housing industry in
Malaysia;
Proposed amendments to the Enactment of Land Development act (Waqf Land
Development)and the Regulations;
To propose new rules, to enforce administrative processes and procedures performed by
the Department not contained in any existing regulations. These include proposed
regulations for handling and restoring abandoned development and monitoring of housing
development on waqf’s land
Prepare Draft Amendment for Enactment of Land Development act (Waqf Land
Development) and Regulations in English and Malay;
Assist the JPN / KPKT/MAIN in providing work processes in making the amendments.
