In memory of Leonardo da Vinci

Leonardo da Vinci was born April 15, 1452 and died May 2 , 1519. He was
born in a farmhouse. Leonardo was raised by his father and stepmother. At
age five, he moved to his father’s family estate in a town. He lived with his
uncle and grandparents. Young Leo received some sort of formal education
of different things such as reading, writing, mathematics, instructions, and
techniques. His talents were shown by an early age. About the age of 14, he
began to make acquaintances with other famous and talented artists. Da
Vinci learned a pretty big amount of technical skills such as metalworking,
leather arts, carpentry, drawing, painting and sculpting. His earliest best
known drawing is pen and ink drawing of a landscape in the Arno valley
sketched in 1473. At age 20 he established his own workshop. Leonardo’s
most famous art pieces are “Vitruvian Man,” “The Last Supper,” and the
“Mona Lisa.” The “Vitruvian Man” was drawn in 1490. The sketch
represents his study of proportion as well as his desire to relate man to
nature.

The next drawing is “The Last Supper” which he worked on it with 2 other people in
1495. We asked a young man that could maybe help us figure out who the 2 men
were he stated, “The 2 other men that worked with da Vinci on this painting was
Ludovico Sforza, then the Duke for Milan, which commissioned da Vinci to paint it.”
he spoke. The masterpiece consisted 3 years to complete. This painting is about Jesus
informing the Twelve Apostles gathered for Passover dinner that one would soon
betray him. In 1503 da Vinci began working on the most known art work of his the
“Mona Lisa.” This masterpiece has a mysterious meaning to it. The picture represents
a mysterious maiden. Leonardo was more than in an artist he was also a writer,
mathematics, and inventor. Leonardo da Vinci later died at age 67. He passed away
due a stroke. Leonardo passed away in Amboise, France..
