Community Information

Merrimack Youth Association – 487 Daniel Webster Highway

The Merrimack Youth Association (MYA) is a volunteer, non-profit organization that provides recreational sports
opportunities to all youths in Merrimack. It contracts with the Town each year to provide organized youth
recreational sports in Town. The MYA currently provides eight different sports for the community: baseball,
softball, basketball, football, spirit club, soccer, lacrosse and wrestling. Each program has its own Board of
Directors and all programs report monthly to the Executive Board who oversees all MYA programming and
corresponds with the Town accordingly.

John O’Leary Adult Community Center – 4 Church St.

Located at 4 Church Street in Merrimack, the John O’Leary Adult & Community Center is available for rental to
host your event or business meeting for 20 or 200
people . Let the comfort and style transform your event
into an exciting special occasion. There distinctive
location in the center of Merrimack, behind the
Merrimack Public Library and next to the First
Congregational Church of Merrimack, near the
intersection of Daniel Webster Highway and Baboosic
Lake Road, offers a unique, comfortable and fully-
appointed setting in which to host your next
function. The center offers Wi-Fi access, a flat-screen
TV, features a clean, modern full kitchen for re-
warming prepared foods, and is fully air-conditioned,
heated and handicap accessible.

Senior Citizen Club - 4 Church St. (John O’Leary Adult Community Center)

The Club's purpose is to serve the best interests of the Town's seniors, to develop social interest and feeling of true
friendship within the Club, and to be energetic in support of federal and state legislation to benefit senior citizens.
Activities include meetings, bingo, bridge, a variety of bus trips, sewing, crafts, cribbage, whist, blitz and chair
yoga. The club meets on Mondays at 1:00pm (except on holidays) at the John O'Leary Adult Community Center.
The center's hours are Monday to Friday 9:00am - 4:00pm. Members must be 55 years of age or older and a
Merrimack resident. Annual membership fee is $20.00.

Community Information

Merrimack Concert Association

The Merrimack Concert Association offers amateur and professional musicians an artistic, recreational, and
educational experience through the rehearsal and performance of a wide variety of instrumental and vocal music;
to provide the residents of the area quality yet inexpensive entertainment. The Merrimack Concert Association
performs three times a year (Winter, Spring and July 3rd). This organization provides the opportunity to sing in
an intergenerational choir, to dust off that old instrument from middle school or to meet new friends (or
rediscover old friends).

Merrimack Ice Skating Rink - O’Gara Drive

The Merrimack Ice Skating Rink will remain at it’s current
location on O’Gara drive for the 2017-2018 season. The rink is
free for the public to use and is maintained by the Merrimack
Public Works Department and a group of dedicated Merrimack
Volunteers. The ice skating rink is typically open up for the
season in early January (depending on weather). Once it opens for
the season, it is available 7 days a week with lights on from 4:30
pm to 10:00 pm. Dedicated volunteers groom the ice on Monday,
Wednesday and Friday evenings. On these evenings, the rink will
be closed to the public at 8:30 pm.

Future Location: After this year, the ice skating rink will be moved to Watson Park which is located at :
447 Daniel Webster Highway.

Merrimack Dog Park at Wasserman Park– 116 Naticook Rd.

The Merrimack Dog Park is located within Wasserman Park on the backside of
the visitors parking lot (near the park’s exit) and is open to both residents & non-
residents (free of charge) from sunrise to sunset.

Users of this facility do so at their own risk. The Town
will not be held liable for any injury or damage caused by
any dog on Town property. Owners are responsible for
cleaning up after their dogs. For a complete list of rules

Family Programs

Family Snowman Building Challenge January 1st – February 18th

A ‘cool’, creative and free activity for the whole family this winter! Spend time with your family building a
snowman in your own yard. When your family
snowman is all completed, take a picture of your
creation and e-mail the picture to:
[email protected]

On February 19th the Parks & Recreation will post all of
the photos on our Facebook page. From February 19th -
February 23rd family, friends and followers of the Parks
& Recreation Facebook page will have the chance to
vote for their favorite creation. The photo with the most
‘likes’ will receive a special Parks & Recreation prize
pack. In addition, the winner’s name will be posted on
the Parks & Recreation Department website and
announced in a press release in local newspapers. This "Family Snowman Building Challenge" is open to all
Merrimack families.

Email a picture of your snowman, the snowman's name, the name(s) of the snowman builders and address of the
snowman for our records.

***Parks & Recreation will only use your address to verify Merrimack residency and will NOT share your
address or email address to the public. Only first names of snowman builders will be used in the description of
each photo posted on our Facebook Page.***

Family Bingo Night Friday, March 9th 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm Fee: $10.00/

person

Join us for a fun filled night of Bingo with the family and play
not only for fun but also for the chance to win prizes. Upon
arrival each participant will receive one bingo card to use for
the night. Additional bingo cards can be purchased for $1.00 a
card.

We will be serving light refreshments as families filter in.
Starting at 6:45 pm we will begin the first round. Each round
will have a different card formation that you must reach to
receive Bingo and each game will offer a different prize. The
night will consist of 10 different rounds of Bingo with a short
15 minute break in the middle for socializing and
refreshments.

This is great way to spend time with family and friends doing
something fun on a Friday night. This event is open to both
residents and non-residents, so bring all your family and
friends, and join us for a night filled with family fun!

Advanced registration is required no later than Friday, March 2nd. This event will be held in the Function

by our art teacher Rebecca from Beck’s Art Express.

something together. At the end of the event you will have great
memories and a two beautiful works of art. $40.00 price is for
1 parent and 1 child. Additional child is $22.00 This is the
perfect daddy daughter date night, mother and son bonding time, or a fun family outing!

FREE Indoor Family Movie Night

We don’t think you should only be able to attend a free movie in the summer! So we are bringing the screen indoors
for the cold Winter months. Join us for these FREE indoor movies in the Function Hall at Wasserman Park!

Families are encouraged to bring dinner or snacks and treats to enjoy during the movie. The Parks and Recreation
Department will be providing popcorn and of course hot chocolate because what would a Winter movie night be
without it!

Seating will be provided but participants can bring foldable camping chairs if they would prefer. Participants are
also welcome to bring blankets and snuggle up just like you would do at home!

Program is FREE but pre-registration is required so we know how many goodies to provide!

Programs for All Ages

Indoor Winter Archery Wednesdays, Jan 10th - Jan 31st Fee: $55.00

Pull back a string and let go of stress and feel the satisfaction of the sound of the arrow hitting the target and more

so, when we are shooting at balloons. Let the challenges of the day melt away as you learn an ancient sport.

Archery is a life long sport as where other sports we tend to age or injury out of. Sign up with a friend, a family

member and enjoy the time together. All equipment is provided and the program will be held inside the Function

Hall at Wasserman Park. Course will be taught by Coach Lucy; owner of the New England School of Archery.

We are offering two courses this winter, one for adult and one for youth!

Ages: 8 - 15 Time: 4:00 - 5:00 pm
Ages: 16 and Older Time: 5:30 - 6:30 pm

Let’s Go Ice Fishing Program with NH Fish & Game FREE!

Ice fishing is a great winter activity for the entire family. One you learn how skill it’s something you will never
forget and a great way to still enjoy being outside in the cold NH winters. This introductory course will cover
fishing equipment, ice safety, knot tying, fish identification, ethics , rules and regulations, and basic winter
ecology. After completing a classroom session on Thursday you will plan to meet on Sunday morning and try out
your new skills.

This is a FREE program but advanced registration is required!

Classroom Portion– Thursday, Feb 1st from 6:00-8:30 pm
Location: Wasserman Park Function Hall

Field Trip Portion - Sunday, Feb 4th from 9:00am -1:00 pm
Location: Naticook Lake at Wasserman Park

Group Snowshoeing Saturday, Feb 3rd. Time: 10:00-11:00 AM FREE!

Are you looking to stay active during the winter months? Then grab your snow shoes and join us for a fun filled
morning of exploring one of Merrimack best natural areas. This is a great opportunity to get together and socialize
with other outdoor nature enthusiasts. This hike will be led by Tim Tenhave from the Merrimack Conservation
Commission.

You will meet Tim at the entrance to Wasserman Park Conservation Area (behind the Parks & Recreation Office)
at 10:00 am and then head out to enjoy the trails. Please feel free to bring a bag with snacks or a thermos of hot
chocolate or coffee. We will be leisurely walking and enjoying the beautiful snow covered trees and woods.

Participants must pre-register and are required to provide their own snowshoe equipment!

Toddler Programs

Music For Little Ones Time: 12:15 - 1:00 pm Fee: $60.00 / child

Learn musical games and sing songs with Mr. Tad. He will guide you and your child
through games for early pitch recognition, and songs about the wonderful world
unfolding to us using his guitar and various percussion instruments. This interactive
Parent and Child music class is the perfect way to spend quality time with your little
kiddos and teach them the joy of music!

This class is open to children ages 2 & 3 years old and will be held in the Function Hall
at Wasserman Park. This class will meet every other Wednesday for a total of 6
different classes.

Dates: Wednesdays, Jan 10 & 24, Feb 7 & 21, March 7 & 21st
Don’t miss out on the chance to see you little ones face light up as they discover the joy of music!

Toddler Play Tues, Jan 16th - Feb 20th 10:00 - 11:30 am Fee: $15.00 / 6 weeks

Join us on Tuesdays in January and February. Between 10:00 - 11:30 am we will
have various play stations set up with sports equipment or craft supplies. Children and
parents can drop by and use the provided equipment at their leisure. This will be a
drop in program and will not consist of formal activities but rather a space for children
to play and parents to socialize. This is a great opportunities for your little kiddos to
meet some new friends. A “parents” zone will also be set up with coffee and tea
available. Parents you will be able to hangout and socialize while keeping an eye on
your children playing in the same room. The drop in fee is $3.00 per child per week or
register for all 6 weeks in advance and pay only $15.00 total.

Don’t miss out on your chance for your children to meet other toddlers and you to meet other parents!
Toddler play time will be held in the Function Hall at Wasserman Park.

Skyhawks Sports Sampler (Ages 4-6) Saturday, April 7th 9:00 - 12:00 pm Fee: $25.00

Hey Parents! Register your child for one of our new Sport Sampler programs!
This half day program geared towards participants ages 4 - 6 will give your
child a solid introduction into multiple sports in one setting. This is a great
opportunity for your child to check out a sport for the first time or learn some
new skills associated with a sport they are already familiar with.

We will showcase up to 4 different sport specific stations for your child to rotate
through during the day. The sport sampler could include basketball, soccer,
baseball, volleyball, and flag football. Please send your child with water bottle
and snack. Program will be held on the T-Ball Field at Wasserman Park.

Parents Night Out Time: 5:30 - 9:30 pm Fee: $15.00/child

We think all you hard working parents deserve a night out once in awhile. Let the
energetic Parks & Recreation Department staff give you a break and time to enjoy
a night out without your children. Each time, participants can join us for a fun
filled evening of games, movies and of course pizza!

Parents you get a chance to hangout with friends, catch dinner and a movie, or
simply relax at home child free - the possibilities are endless! Advanced
registration is required and spaces are limited. Program is held in the Function
Hall at Wasserman Park.

Geared towards children between the ages of 8 - 12, come and join Megan
Boisvert from the Parks & Recreation Department and learn the basics of being
safe when home alone for short periods of time. We’ll talk about how to answer
the telephone and door, internet safety, first aid techniques, accident prevention
and fire protection and more will be discussed. Youth will have a better
understanding of responsibility & independence.
This is an interactive class. Each student will receive a handbook. Class will be held in the Function Hall at
Wasserman Park.

Each week will offer a wide variety of sports
& games, art projects, outdoor activities,
movies, lunch and more. Daily snack and
hot lunch will be provided.

Program will be held in the Function Hall at
Wasserman Park from 8:00am - 4:00pm and
is geared towards children in grades K - 5.

After school care is offered from 4:00 -
5:30 pm for an additional fee.

Youth Programs

Introduction to Guitar Class Fridays, Jan 12th - Feb 16th 4:30 - 5:30 pm Fee: $ 105.00

Join us for this Introduction to Guitar class taught by an instructor from
the Manchester Community Music School. This class will focus on
proper left and right hand techniques, chords for playing rhythm guitar
and the fundamentals of reading standard notation on guitar. At the end
of the 6 week session participants will have a basic understanding of the
instrument and be able to play a few songs.

Participants should provide their own guitars. If you do not have a guitar
please contact the Manchester Community Music school at (603) 644-
4548 ext. 214. to rent one. Limited guitars are available on a first come –
first serve basis.

This class is open to young adults in middle School and high school and
will take place in the Wasserman Park Function Hall.

Come learn alongside other musically inclined students and learn the joy of guitar!

Private Instrument or Voice Lessons at Manchester Community Music School
Are you or your child thinking about learning to play an instrument?

The Merrimack Parks and Recreation Department has partnered with
the Manchester Community Music School to offer a Special
Introductory Offer for Merrimack residents. New students can enroll in
six, private 30-minute instrument or voice lessons for just $180.00;
which is $20.00 off of
the normal price.

This is a great way to
try out a new
instrument or dust off
an old one and get
playing. They teach
lessons in various different instruments! These classes will be
held at the Manchester Community Music School is located in
historic North Manchester at 2291 Elm Street.
The school provides quality musical instructions and performance
opportunities for students of all ages, and is home to nearly 50 of
New England’s finest music educators and professional
musicians.

Easter Egg Hunt: Saturday, March 24th

10:00 am – 11:30am

Free!

Join Merrimack Parks & Recreation and Merrimack Friends & Families
for the 26th Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Wasserman Park. The Easter
Egg Hunt is divided into four different age groups and conducted at
different times. The Easter Bunny will also be on site in the Function
Hall from 10:00am to 11:30am, so bring your camera and take pictures
of your child with the Easter Bunny! In addition, Merrimack Friends &
Families will be holding a charitable bake sale during the event. All
children should bring their own Easter basket to collect your eggs in.
This year we will be adding a special needs egg hunt time, this is open
to children aged 1-10 and will be held at 10:10 am.

Show your love for Merrimack by signing up to be part of our park
clean up day. You can sign up as a group or as an individual to be part
of the community fun.

Interested people or groups should fill out the group interest form that
can be found on our website. We will be assigning a different park,
field, or recreation area to different groups. Based off what needs to be
done each group will have different tasks. This could cleaning up
garbage, doing some light yard work, etc. The Parks and Recreation
Department will provide gloves and trash bags to every group

This is a great way to give back to the Merrimack Community and celebrate Mother Nature on Earth Day.

Bus Trips

Blue Man Group Bus Trip Sunday, April 29th 12:15 pm - 5:15 pm Fee: $80.00

Join the Merrimack Parks & Recreation as we travel to the Charles Street Playhouse in Boston for an amazing
performance by the Blue Man Group. Remember that time when you were little and one of your imaginary friends

took your hand and led you into a world that looked like yours only
brighter? No? Me neither. That’s what Blue Man Group is like. Blue
Man Group combines music, technology and comedy to create a form of
entertainment that defies categorization and appeals to people of all
ages.

Blue Man Group’s
shows have been
described by critics as
“innovative,” “energetic” and “wildly entertaining.” But the only
way to truly understand Blue Man Group’s global popularity is to
see the show for yourself.

The bus will depart from Exit 8 Parks and Ride in Nashua, NH at
12:15pm. The show will begin at 2:00 pm and seats will be in the
orchestra section. We will arrive back in Nashua at 5:15 pm.

Tickets are limited and all participants must pre-register to be part of this trip.

The registration deadline for this trip is Sunday, April 22nd and spots are sold on a first-come, first-serve
basis.

Casino Trip: Mohegan Sun Saturday, May 19th 8:00 am - 6:00 pm Fee: $40.00

Come join us and test your luck at Mohegan Sun Casino in
Connecticut. At this casino you can take your pick of over 5,000 slot
machines and over 300 table games, including favorites like
blackjack, roulette, baccarat, craps and Pai Gow, poker, and state-of-
the-art Race Book.

You don’t need to be an experienced game player to enjoy this trip.
There is something for people of all skill levels. As part of your fee

This trip is open to residents and non-residents so bring all your

Want to experience New York City but don’t want to drive and spend half the day looking for
parking? Join the Merrimack Parks & Recreation Department on Saturday, June 9th for our
annual trip to NYC! Once in New York you will be on your own for the day to enjoy the city
at your own pace. You don’t want to miss out on the chance to enjoy the beautiful June
weather, perfect for a stroll through Central Park or a shopping trip in Time Square!
The trip will depart at 6:30am from the Exit 8 Nashua Park and Ride and arrive in New York
City around 11:15 am. You will have until 6:45pm to explore New York City. We should
arrive back in Merrimack around 11:45 pm. Seats are limited and all participants must pre-
register before Saturday, June 9th to be part of this great bus trip.

The Parks & Recreation Department is now accepting applications for the following
positions for Summer 2018

Senior & Junior Camp Counselors:

Are primarily responsible for the care of their cabin group. Counselors spend most of their day accompanying their
group to various activities. Requires experience working with children and be adaptable, enthusiastic, friendly and
dependable. Junior Counselors are 16 & 17 years of age and work in a group under the Supervision of a Senior
Camp Counselor. Senior Camp Counselors are 18 and older staff members who provide the overall supervision for
their assigned bunk.

Special Needs Aides:

Are primarily responsible for working in a 1:1 or 1:2 setting with a child who has Special Needs. The goal of the
person in this position is helping to integrate the assigned child into the Day Camp Program. Requires the ability
to be creative in the integration of assigned camper (s) adaptability, enthusiastic, friendly and dependable, achieve
assigned camper (s) developmental objectives goals. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Waterfront Lifeguards:

Lifeguards are responsible for ensuring the overall safety of the Waterfront environment on Lake Naticook. In
addition to supervising the water, lifeguards are also responsible for providing first aid for minor injuries and
activating the chain of command for more serious emergencies. Candidates must be at least 16 years of age and
possess a current a Lifeguard Certification and American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer or
American Heart Association Heartsaver certification or comparable, Certification in Standard First Aid. Canoe
experience a plus.

Water Safety Instructor:

Water Safety Instructors are responsible for teaching group swimming lessons to children on Lake Naticook
according to American Red Cross Swimming Lesson Standards. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age and be
certified as a American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, or equivalent; candidates with Lifeguard Certification
are strongly preferred. Full & Part Time positions available.

Kitchen Assistant/ Prep Cook:

The Kitchen Assistant/Prep Cook assists the Camp Cook in preparing meals for Naticook Day Camp and the
general operation of the kitchen. Responsibilities include washing dishes, sweeping & mopping, Taking out trash;
cutting, peeling & washing vegetables, as needed. Help unload supply truck and put supplies away. Applicant must
be at least 18 years of age and must be able to lift/unload/move food and supplies; Lift dishes to their storage
location; Use kitchen equipment safely and operate electrical and mechanical equipment as needed.

Counselor in Training Coordinator:

The Counselor-In-Training (CIT) Coordinator directs the Counselor in Training Program for 14 & 15 year olds.
The program will be focus on teaching CIT’s the skills necessary to be successful when working with children and
learning the skills necessary to become future camp counselors and future leaders. Applicants must be 18 years or
older with relevant working experience with children aged 14 - 15 years old.

Nature Activity Specialist:

The Nature Activity Specialist is responsible for coordinating and leading the Nature/ Environmental Education
programs at Naticook Day Camp. The ideal candidate will have experience in nature or environmental
education and should posses the ability to create lesson plans for campers of various different ages.

Outdoor Adventure Activity Specialist:

The Outdoor Adventure Activity Specialist is responsible for coordinating and leading adventure education
activities at Naticook Day Camp. The specialist will develop, plan and lead daily adventure challenge activities,
nature hikes, canoe treks and other activities that help campers overcome obstacles or fear, and build life skills
including communication, teamwork, trust, cooperation, and more in a safe and supportive environment.
Candidates must be at lease 18 years of age and have experience in team building activities, problem solving,
and low ropes skills.

Arts & Crafts Activity Specialist:

The Arts & Crafts Activity Specialist is responsible for coordinating and leading the Arts & Crafts program at
Naticook Day Camp. The specialist will develop, plan and lead daily arts and crafts activities that are
specifically tailored towards each different age group. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and have
experience working with arts and crafts or visual arts.

Sports Activity Specialist:

The Sports and Game Specialist is responsible for coordinating and leading the sports program at Naticook Day
Camp. The specialist will develop, plan and lead daily sports activities for children aged 5 - 14. Candidate must
be at least 18 years of age and should have experience teaching sports to children and a deep understanding of
multiple sports and there rules.

Archery Specialist:

The Archery Specialist is responsible for teaching/ leading quality archery program at Naticook Day Camp for
children between the ages of 7-14. Candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining the archery
range and all equipment and teaching daily classes. Participant must be at least 18 years of age, experience
shooting archery and hold a level 1 Archery Instructor Certification or willing to obtain.

Counselor In Training Program
For Ages 14 - 15

The Counselor in Training Program focuses on helping teens prepare for the future by making sure they leave
with the vital resources and skills needed to enter the working world. Jobs in camps offer invaluable
skill-building, leadership, training, and enrichment opportunities that can’t be found anywhere else. The
program will be focus on teaching participants the skills necessary to be successful working with children and
becoming a camp counselor. Through a hands on learning experience teens will get the chance to plan and
implement camp activities for various age groups. In addition over the course of each session participants will
learn how to write a professional resume, practice interview techniques and gain valuable leadership
experiences that will enhance their job marketability. The belief is that participants will leave not only as future
camp counselor but also with the skills and resources needed to advance as young professionals.

ABBIE GRIFFIN PARK, 6 Baboosic Lake Road - Home to Merrimack’s Summer Concert Series, it
is also famous for its Bandstand and a popular location for outdoor wedding ceremonies and
special events.

BISHOP FIELD, 178 Baboosic Lake Road - This field contains soccer and lacrosse fields.

GIBSON MEMORIAL COMPLEX & MARTEL FIELD, 10 Atherton Road - This field contains Little
League baseball fields and a softball diamond at Martel Field.

JONATHAN SIMEONE MEMORIAL ATV PARK, Lawrence Road - This Town owned land is
maintained by the New Hampshire Right Riders group. Riders in the park, which is open only to
Merrimack residents and vehicles must display a Merrimack Transfer Station Sticker.

TWIN BRIDGES PARK & KIDS COVE, 487 Daniel Webster Highway - This Park includes the Kids
Kove wooden Playground, Little League baseball at Bise Field, basketball courts, picnic
tables, scenic walking paths and the location of Merrimack Youth Association Headquarters.

REEDS FERRY SCHOOL FIELDS, 15 Lyons Road - This field contains five soccer fields, one youth
baseball field two softball fields and one lacrosse field.

TWARDOSKY FIELD, 44 Amherst Road - This field contains one softball field and two soccer
fields.

VETERANS MEMORIAL PARK & BOAT RAMP, 155 Camp Sargent Road - This field contains two
youth baseball fields, one Babe Ruth multipurpose field, picnic tables and the Warriner Memorial
Playground. Trailer launched or carry-in boating access to Naticook Lake for fishing is also
available.

WASSERMAN PARK, 116 Naticook Road - This Park offers extensive recreational activities
such as picnicking, hiking, swimming, fishing, tennis, basketball, baseball and the Norma French
Playground. This is home of the Parks & Recreation Department and Naticook Day Camp.

WESTON PARK & RIVER ACCESS, 49 Turkey Hill Road - A lovely site for light hiking, picnick-
ing winter sledding and also features a riverbank carry-in boating access to the Souhegan River
for fishing.

WATSON PARK, 441 Daniel Webster Highway - Activities featured at this Park include
picnicking, scenic river views, access for carry-in boating and fishing, butterfly garden and the
newly built Pavilion.

DEPOT STREET BOAT RAMP, 20 Depot Street — Carry-in boating and fishing access to the Merrimack River.

HORSESHOE POND BOAT RAMP, 23 Island Drive — Trailer launched or carry-in boating. Horseshoe Pond is an

ox-bow pond, created when the Merrimack River changed course & sediment buildup cut it off from the main

channel of the river. 20

Merrimack Outdoors - Conservation Areas

Horse Hill Nature Preserve - This 563 acre property consists of gently rolling to fairly steep terrain and two hills
approximately 400’ elevation. The property includes a series of streams, ponds, swamps, and numerous wetlands.
This is the largest preserved open space property in the Town of Merrimack and wide range of opportunities for
both passive and active recreation as well as diverse plants and wildlife.

Grater Woods - This 480 acre property with a network of trails used for hikers, bikers, skiers, hunters,
snowmobilers, horseback riders, AVTers and bird watchers. A portion of this property is owned by the Merrimack
School District and home to an outdoor classroom.

Wildcat Falls - This conservation area consists of 87 acres of managed pine/hardwood forest, abuts the Souhegan
River and includes Wildcat Falls, o popular area. A PSNH power line crosses the land and provides an excellent
area for bird watching and wild blueberry picking.

Wasserman Park Conservation Area– This property consists of 88– acres of forested land which includes 900
feet of shoreline on Naticook Lake and encompasses Naticook Brook.

Wasserman Park Function Hall Rentals

The Function Hall at Wasserman Park is a multi-use facility for gathering of events such as organization
meetings, event receptions, reunions, birthday parties, family picnics, and more. The Function Hall features a
front room that can accommodate up to 100 people and a main room that can accommodate up to 200 people.
The rental hall fee also includes the use of 20 tables and 110 chairs. The Function Hall rental is available 7
days a week between 7:00am to 11:00pm.

In 2016, the Town of Merrimack installed a brand new heating system, a brand new sprinkler system and
installed a permanent water line to the building to allow it to be rented out on a year round basis.

Registration Information

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

1. All programs are offered on a “first come – first serve” basis in person, online or mail-in registration.
2. All programs operate on a self-supporting basis. The Parks & Recreation Department reserves the

right to cancel classes that do not support themselves. Registrations are accepted and confirmed
when you submit your completed registration form and enrollment fee. Waiting lists will be taken as
classes reach their maximum enrollment.
3. Online registrations allow you to create your one-time family account. Once a family account is
created, all future registrations with Merrimack Parks & Recreation would simply require you to log
in and select the appropriate family member from your profile to register for a particular program,
event, activity or camp session. Your family account allows you to view what programs you have
registered, make a credit card payment for registered programs or view your payment history.

5. Non-residents are allowed to sign up for any program offered by the Parks & Recreation

Department.

WITHDRAWALS, REFUNDS, CANCELLATION AND TRANSFERS

1. Participants who wish to withdraw from a program must notify the Parks & Recreation Department
at least ten (10) days prior to the start of the program. All program cancellations will be assessed a
$10.00 administrative processing fee. All refunds will be issued in the form of a check from the Town
of Merrimack and may take up to two (2) weeks to process.

2. Refunds may be given for medical reasons which arise less than ten (10) days prior to the start of a
program. The request must be accompanied by a physician’s letter. In the event that a medical issue
arises after the start of the program, the refund will be prorated.

3. If a program is cancelled due to low enrollment, participants will receive a full refund.
4. Participants will be permitted, if space allows, a transfer to another program. Should the program

the participant is transferring into have a higher fee, they will be expected to remit the difference in
fee at the time of requesting the transfer.

PAYMENT INFORMATION:

Checks should be made payable to the TOWN OF MERRIMACK. There is a $25.00 service fee for all
returned checks.
