Beloit Lions Club, Beloit K-18 Baseball Equipment Needs

Dane G. Hansen Community Grant Fund, Community Impact Fund for Solomon Valley, $1,000,
Awarded 02/15/2019

Project Summary: Baseball Equipment for two K-18 (ages 13-15) teams in Beloit.

Use of Funds: Three sets of bases, three baseball bats, two sets of scorebooks and lineup cards, baseballs and
equipemt bags.

Impact & Results: We were comfortably able to furnish equipment for two baseball teams of 13-15 year olds with
the additional money provided by this grant. In addition, upon hearing about the contribution from this grant,
other businesses in town stepped up and also provided additional funds to both of our teams, which will help with
umpires and field maintenance, that was going to be an issue. Over 30 boys are playing this year, and some of the
equipment will be passed down for next year’s team as well, which will also be helpful for not only this year, but
subsequent years. Because of the timing of the sales that I found on equipment, the total spent was just under
$1,000.

City of Glen Elder, Glen Elder City Park Improvements

Dane G. Hansen Community Grant Fund, $4,000, Awarded 02/15/2019

Project Summary: This grant request is for funds to improve the Glen Elder
City Park This would be done by installing an underground sprinkler system
and upgrading the Christmas lights in and around the Glen Elder City Park.

Use of Funds: The awarded funds were used towards the cost of purchasing
LED Christmas decorations for the Glen Elder city square. This included two
standing Santas, five hanging snowflakes, and 1000 LED bulbs.

Impact & Results: The annual Glen Elder Christmas lighting was held on
November 30. A very large crowd attended to enjoy the tradition of counting
down to turn on the lights in and around the city square. With the addition
of the two new Santa displays, the city park looks very festive with the variety
of holiday displays.
