KRISTIN PAVLICK Electrica Gallery is proud to present the second edition Pop-Up Art
Exhibition at DADA.
P O P - U PA R T E X H I B I T I O N This Pop-Up Show is a SOLO artist exhibition, featuring Kristin Pavlick
with series of her original artwork, and fine art limited editions.
ELECTRICA The collections to be presented: An American Girl", "Domino's", "9
- GALLERY - Crimes Sugarcoated”, & "Dear Marylin, Love Andy”

Kristin for this show will execute a live demonstration adding a piece
to her latest series. Another very special highlight for the night is a
secret silent auction for the original art piece “Ever After”.
You will have the opportunity to participate and become the new
owner of this original painting. The highest bidder will be notified after
the show is concluded. The auction will be handled directly by the
gallery and is only for the POP-UP opening night.
If you wish to participate in this silent auction please fill in your info and
your maximum bid in the form attached to this paper and hand it to the
gallery owners.

As you know a  pop-up exhibition  is a temporary art event, they can
last for a few hours, a few weeks and in some cases have become
permanent fixtures due to their popularity.

KRISTIN PAVLICK

Born outside of Philadelphia, Kristin Pavlick has been a life-
long artist, channeling her creative vision to magnify the
beauty of everyday experiences. Pavlick celebrates the
subtle, natural splendor of ordinary scenes in a way that is
both intense and dramatic.
She paints in acrylic and has a diverse portfolio — from
brilliant landscapes to expressionistic portraits.

Pavlick earned a bachelor’s degree in art education from
Penn State University in 2005.
Before re-locating to South Florida in 2008, she worked as an
art educator in several Pennsylvania schools, as well as, the
managing art sales consultant for a major cruise line.  An
impromptu trip to the Salvador Dali museum in early 2010
inspired her to change her life and dedicate her career to
painting full-time.

Pavlick has since done work for Don King Productions, Italian
Vogue Editor Rushka Bergman, and her pieces can be found
in the permanent collection of the Coral Springs Museum of
Art, the corporate collections of Tree Top, Inc. (Washington
State), 26 Degrees Brewing (Pompano Beach, FL) and Titled
Kilt Pub and Eatery (Boca Raton, FL), as well as being
featured by the Electrica Gallery (Miami), and in South
Florida's vibrant culture-- where her work stands tall in
several local venues and private collections, including Art
Critic Bruce Helander.

decision making process?  Through the marriage of disparate imagery, she presents 9
CRIMES that have been SUGARCOATED.  Pavlick sees our visual culture as an intentional
veil that separates us from the truth—encouraging us to act upon a deeply reinforced
value system that is imposed upon us.  Kristin encourages you to look through playful
imagery to question if there is a blindspot in your decision making process, and just how
much of our immediate needs act against our collective needs.

AN AMERICAN GIRL is intended to represent a snapshot of our visual culture--  Where
does ‘it’ end and where does our American Culture begin? The wide range of imagery is a
device used to describe the speed, the overwhelming volume, and the diverse channels
of media that submerges us in visual culture, every minute of everyday. Largely interested
in the difference between the presented ideal  vs.  our reality, I used the friction between
what we ‘see’ and what we ‘live’ to create AN AMERICAN GIRL that asks, “Just what is the
collective impact of such imagery?”

THE DOMINFEOATUERFINFGECT SERIES

Because The Domino Sugar Building has so graciously greeted my many trips to Baltimore-- I jumped at the
thought to create a series around this iconic staple. Not only has it endured years in a skyline, but also stands
tall in today’s marketplace. Curious about the power of advertising-- I began to look at how Domino Sugar has
created a universal following for this white powdery substance. Past ad campaigns spoke to woman’s roles,
body ideals, even naming sugar as a healthy source of energy, all of which made for compelling advertising,
but at what cost? 
Time has shown the absurdity of their claims, but it is startling to consider the initial impact. And so my series:
THE DOMINO EFFECT is a visual narrative, deconstructing vintage Domino Sugar imagery. I have rearranged,
re-imagined, and synthesized images in order to explore how perceived truths that influence our behavior and,
ultimately, color how we see the world. This series satisfies my larger point of view: that it is our responsibility to
examine visual culture, instead of just consuming 'it'.
