Twenty five years of Lititz Patriotic Parade
Twenty five years ago, a group of The parade route followed the

request from the Lititz Springs Park success. Funds were needed to pay

Some highlights over the past 25 years:
• In the 3rd or 4th year, the Park Board agreed to open the park after the parade
for a free night of entertainment using the paid participants in the parade.
• The Lions would have a food stand in the park along with Fink’s Fries and
Stephan’s Soft Pretzels.
• We featured the Quaker City String Band for 2 years until the cost became
prohibitive.
• Then we found our “go to group” for the next many, many years, Flamin’ Dick
and the Hot Rods. Great bunch of guys! They are a crowd-pleasing group and
a wonderful find for the Lions.
• As the original committee members retired, the Lions secured Bob Criswell and
Amanda Weit Cassel as their replacements. They lengthened the parade and
added new groups. Today we have a great parade and wonderful entertainment
afterwards in the park. And today a new committee will continue the tradition.
“IT DOESN’T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS!”
• The Lititz Lions Club wishes to thank the following:
- Liititz Park Board members past and present.
- Roy Clair, Michael Tait, and Atomic Lighting for all of their support.
- Jerry McKonly and his park crew, a super group of people.
- You, the public, for your understanding and support of the Lititz Lions Club
projects.
