Ron’s Place3301 52nd Street ronskenosha.com

In 1972, Ron Pendrick opened his bar on the corner of 52nd Street and
33rd Avenue. Corner bars were a dime a dozen at the time, and Ron knew
that he had to elevate his bar above the others to succeed. He did so by
providing his customers with an upscale and comfortable environment where
friendly conversation was preferred over wood chucking sprees. He did so,
by replacing the typical beer nuts and pretzels dining template common to
many corner bars at the time with a bar menu headlined by the 5x5 — eight
ounces of the choicest ground beef, cooked to order with several optional
toppings, and all housed between a steaming sesame seed bun. A masterful
sandwich, destined to become the most famous burger in Kenosha! Along
with the amazing 5x5, a ribeye steak and a have and cheese sandwich
rounded out the menu over forty years ago. Today, there are many more
food items, but the Ron’s Place mission still remains the same - to serve
best food, in any bar, anywhere.

Woody Allen once said, “Man cannot live by bread alone; frequently there must be a bev-
erage!” In the early 80’s, Ron introduced a beverage to his line-up what has become as fa-
mous as the 5x5 — the Long Island Iced Tea. Served in huge Mason jar, the Teas became a
huge hit. They were new to Kenosha, and thirsty patrons lined up to try the Original, the Ja-
maican, and the Beach flavored drinks. Today, there are over forty different Teas, and in
2008, Ron’s Place introduced the Tour of Teas, a promotion which rewards customers who
try them all! Ron’s is also proud to offer some of the finest beers in the world, and the tour 50
Beers to Drink Before You Die! will introduce beer lovers to most of them.

Ron Pendrick created a bar with great atmosphere, incredible food, and fantastic bev-
erages. After 40 years, Ron’s Place continues to raise the bar in Kenosha. Ron is now
happily retired, but his vision remains with his daughter Tracy Wynn and longtime crew
member Tom Plummer, as they guide Kenosha’s finest pub into the future. Stop into Ron’s
Place soon and remember that man cannot live by a a 5x5 alone — one will need to
wash it down with a Tea, and drink a toast to the man whose dream lives on!

Twisted Cuisine

7546 Sheridan Road • (262) 564-0220
Twisted Cuisine opened in February

2006. At a time when her life was
changing a bit, Rhonda Bell did some
soul searching and discovered her two
passions in life – food and people.
Rhonda went back to school to study cu-
linary arts and almost immediately
opened her first restaurant. Originally,
the restaurant didn't have a name. It
wasn't until the first menu was created -
with flavor combinations that were a little "twisted" – that the name
came about. The rest is history. You will often find Rhonda working
behind the bar or occasionally in the kitchen with Executive Chef,
Erica Buskirk. Twisted Cuisine takes pride in being a woman-
owned restaurant, with a female Executive Chef, and staff and
guests who are like family.
