Welcome To Cheese-A-Palooza

-Cheese... can anyone begin to imagine how different our lives would be

without it? What would we put on our pizza? What good is macaroni without

the cheese? It’s a food ingredient that can almost be a meal in itself or bring

most any dish to life. And it comes with its many different varieties, flavors

and textures for us to enjoy. This year we’re setting aside one weekend,

Saturday, August 31st and Sunday, September 1st to celebrate every-

thing that makes cheese so wonderful. Admission is free and we can’t wait to see

your smiling faces at the sixth annual Cheese-A-Palooza!

Celebrate Cheese!

For the sixth year in a row, the City of Kenosha and Happenings Magazine

present Cheese-A-Palooza, a free event celebrating our state's true mascot (sorry

Bucky Badger): CHEESE! As you prepare yourself for this fantastic event, take a

moment to look through this book to learn almost everything you need to know

about cheese, then come down to the Kenosha harbor on the weekend of August

31st and September 1st to show off your cheesy knowledge while indulging yourself

in some of our area's greatest and cheesiest morsels. Many food vendors will be on

hand to deliver delectable cheesey goodness to your mouth. If cheese isn't your

thing, but you would like to come celebrate with us nonetheless, plenty of these

vendors will be serving food without cheese, because really, who eats cheese on

a brat?

If live music is your thing, Cheese-A-Palooza has that covered as well. Featuring

festival favorites Tynan, Audio Wise, Bounty Hunter, PetRock, Hillbilly Rockstar

and more across two stages. See our schedule on pages 16-18 for more band

info.

Conquer The 5K Queso!

Attention all cheese-loving athletes out there! Before you indulge your-
self in a plate of oozy, juicy, cheesy goodness, run off that caloric guilt at
the  fourth annual    5K Queso Walk/Run for Family Health
Awareness. The run kicks off on Saturday, August 31st at 9 a.m., with
onsite registration beginning at 8:30 a.m.. With registration only being $12
for early birds and $15 on the day of the race, this is a perfect way for a
family to get out of the house on a Saturday morning and enjoy the beau-
tiful harbor-side air while supporting a great cause.  Kids eight and under
can tag along for free!

The walk/run is sponsored by local independent health groups, including
Zenith Healthcare, Zoomy Care Walk-In Clinic, and the Kenosha Medical
Group.  Being locally owned and operated, their goal is to treat their
patients like family - not a piece off an assembly line. They do medicine the
way it used to be and strive to bring awareness of health and happy
lifestyles to the community.

The 5K Queso Walk/Run also hopes to bring awareness for common
health issues that most women deal with.  To register arrive at the Cheese-
A-Palooza grounds along the fantastic harbor-side between 8 - 8:30 a.m.
with a kickoff at 53rd Street and 2nd Avenue for a 5K trip which will bring
the runners back to the Cheese-A-Palooza  grounds. The whole family and
all levels of fitness are invited! Save money by registering online - visit

The Kenosha Classic Street Machine started in 2000 as just a gathering of car enthu-

Each Wednesday, they have a cruise-in at Andy's Drive-In (2929 Roosevelt Rd.,

a bite to eat. They also put on an annual car show in June. They can be regularly seen hang-
