Dear Colleagues,
I take this opportunity to thank all the members for their kind
support. I am trying my best to prove upto your expectations
and do all which is required for the upliftment of our beloved
association.
There was a notice released by National Board of
Examinations inviting to apply for FNB NEUROVASCULAR
INTERVENTION Program, wherein they have excluded MD,
DMRD, DNB in Radio-diagnosis from this Fellowship program.
Immediately IRIA objected to the eligibility criteria for this two year, as to
why the Radiologists who are MD, DMRD, DNB in Radio-diagnosis have
been deprived to enter into this Fellowship program. IRIA strongly condemned this program.
I have good news to share with you. There was a meeting of National Board of Examinations
at New Delhi on 27th April, 2019. I represented IRIA in this meeting to safeguard Radiology.
After explanations from radiologist’s point of view, we could convince all committee members
to have inclusion of MD / DNB radiologists for FNB neurovascular interventions. Official
notification will come out in due course of time. This development will help to many young
Radiologists to pursue their career in Neurovascular Interventions.
IRIA is committed to do best for its members.
As you are aware that a Conference exclusively on Ultrasound, which has been named as
“Sono Summit 2019”, is being organized by IRIA from 27 - 30 June, 2019 at Chennai Trade

You are cordially invited to participate in Sono Summit 2019 and grace the occasion with your
presence.
You are requested to send your suggestions/opinion/views on any matter pertaining to the

As decided in the GBM held at Mumbai, a committee under the chairmanship of Dr. N.
Kulasekaran and Dr. Pragati Sinha & Dr. Rajesh Sharma as members presented its report
regarding studying the ramification of Amendment No. 15. This report has been duly approved
by the General Body vide at its meeting held at PGIMER Chandigarh for necessary
implementation. The same is reproduced here below.
“The members who are providing training or giving a live demonstration to the non-radiologists
in other Associations / Societies having non-Radiologists as members and having a conflict of
interest with IRIA should be subjected to the disciplinary action as per the constitutional
provision and the action against the member will be taken to the extent of suspending from the
membership / debarring from the association. Members giving the scientific lecture should be
allowed.”
All the state chapters have been requested to kindly implement the report with respect to
Amendment No.15 in their respective state chapters and discourage the members, who are
providing training or giving live demonstration to the non-radiologists in other Associations /
Societies having non-Radiologists as members and having a conflict of interest with IRIA.
However, Members giving scientific lectures are allowed. We also believe in adopting a policy
of facilitating “Home Coming” of such members, who give training and live demo to the non -
radiologists and harm interests of our members, but until they really come back home, we urge
all state Presidents & Secretaries not to invite them at any IRIA platform at the state level.
LONG LIVE IRIA!
With best wishes and kind regards,
Yours sincerely,
Dr. Rajeev Singh
