two weeks after he was married.
A very giving person, for more than thirty years he

ing the part upwards of one hundred fifty times in one
season. He was active in the community as a charter
member of the Edgerton Lions Club, of which he had
served as president numerous times, and attended Life
Changing Realities Fellowship in Edgerton. David also
was an avid collector of sports memorabilia, attending
antique auctions and baseball card shows.
David L. Seslar was born on March 11, 1943, in
Edgerton, the son of Gilbert L. and Anna Marie (Sites)
Seslar. He married Brenda S. Moss on March 22, 1975,
in Bryan, Ohio, and she survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife is one son, Jon
Seslar, of Edgerton; a brother, Larry (Linda) Seslar, of
Bryan; one sister, Karen Gardner, of Edon; and a sis-
ter-in-law, Diane Seslar, of Edgerton. He was preceded
in death by his parents; two brothers, Terry and Jerry
Seslar; and three sisters, Carolyn McDorman and Nan-
cy and Ruth Ann Seslar.

Several area teams opened their 2018 season
at the Bulldog Invitational at Eagle Rock Coun-
try Club in Defiance. Bryan finished second with a
team score of 343, just one stroke behind the first
place Napoleon Wildcats. Junior Case Hartman
shot a 72 and was the tournament medalist while
Connor Shirkey added an 80 to lead the Golden
Bears. Archbold was fourth with a 348, led by 84s
from AJ Mahnke and Kade Kern. Eric Parker fired
an 86 to lead Wauseon to a seventh place finish
(359), North Central was paced by Chace Booth-
man with an 80 to place 12th (368), Pettisville was
13th with a 374, and Stryker finished 18th (420)
with Spencer Clingman firing a 76 to tie for second
place individually.

Connor Shirkey was tournament medalist with
a 74 and the Bryan Golden Bears finished in third
place as a team with a 342 at the Kalida Invita-
tional held at Country Acres Golf Club. Case Hart-
man also finished in the top ten individually as he
fired an 80 to place ninth overall. The host Kalida
Wildcats won the event with a team score of 326.

Paulding Invitational
The Archbold Bluestreaks tallied a 317 to win
the Paulding Invitational at Auglaize Golf Course.
Mitch Grosjean shot a 76 and AJ Mahnke had a
round of 78 to lead Archbold to the win. Bryan
(333) was fourth as they edged out Swanton (334)
who finished fifth. The Golden Bears were topped
by Connor Shirkey who was the match medalist
with a 70 and Case Hartman with a 75. Swanton
was paced by Carter Swank with a 78 and Austin
Luce carded a 79. Wauseon was 10th with a 362
as Trent Armstrong was their low score with an 88,
Cole Mattin fired an 87 to help the Delta Panthers
come home in 13th with a 378, and Montpelier
(378) was 14th led by Hunter Burlew with an 87.

Chace Boothman shot a 72 to earn medalist hon-
ors and lead North Central to the top spot in the
Eagle/Bomber Invitational at Suburban Golf Course.
Fayette was third with a 343 and had two golfers on
the All-Tournament team as Noah Brinegar shot a 78
and Tanner Lemley had a 79. Also making the team
were Stryker’s Spencer Clingaman (78), North Cen-
tral’s Collin Patten (78), and Max Leppelmeier (79)
