The Chamber

Dispatch

Greater York Chamber of Commerce Newsletter November 8, 2017

From the Director

As we get closer to the holidays and the end of the year, Sara and I have been putting the final touches on

several initiatives we hope will bring additional foot traffic to downtown. That effort begins with the Down-

town Business Committee which meets every month on the second Tuesday evening. This committee gets

together to discuss traffic and trends downtown as well as brainstorm on marketing and sales drivers.

Several downtown business owners have taken the opportunity to attend the Chambers Learning sessions

and are signed up for the Access to Success event coming up on the 16th. It is this spark of enthusiasm

that is contagious and we here at the Chamber are excited to be part of Western York County’s future.

Access to Success is November 16th and will be a great opportunity for new and established businesses to

review their growth plan and review processes they use on a daily basis. The event has a variety of

speakers who will speak and answer questions on a range of topics from capital access, to marketing to

expansion timelines and even just doing business in the city & county. If you haven’t already registered,

please make sure you do, as it will be an informative day that concludes with a concert by Nashville’s own

Jeff Black. Tickets are only $35 and include dinner & a concert.

There is a lot of buzz and excitement in and around the city of York. Jason Broadwater’s movement

YorkSCForward is a great example of that. He is involving the community as a whole and looking for ideas

and feedback from everyone. It truly is a community effort. If you haven’t visited the website please do

and sign up to attend a session, begin a conversa-

tion or just stay in the loop with emails that way, November Calendar
