Maidenhead United is delighted to announce a collaboration with two-time Champions Leaguewinners Juventus FC ahead of Non-League Day 2026.The Serie A outfit will be supporting United for our Football for a Fiver fixture against Westonsuper-Mare on Saturday, 28 March during the international break.Juventus chose to support the Magpies for Non-League Day due to the similarity between thetwo sides’ iconic kits. Both clubs have worn black and white for more than 100 years, with TheOld Lady adopting their famous stripes in 1901. Juventus originally wore pink shirts with a blacktie, but switched to black and white in December of that year. The Magpies, meanwhile, trace ourblack and white history back to 1919 following the merger of Maidenhead FC and MaidenheadNorfolkians. More than a century later, both clubs continue to don the black and white colours, with Kelme and Adidas producing each club's kit respectively. As part of their support, Juventus will send over a home shirt which will be framed and displayedby Maidenhead United for many years to come. Juventus supporters are also among thoseinvited to York Road for the occasion, with entry to the fixture available from just £1 for Under 17sas part of our Football for a Fiver initiative.Tickets are available now via our ticketing portal. All tickets are £5 when purchased in advance, with Under 17s eligible for £1 when accompanied by an adult.NON LEAGUE DAY

It us just under two years ago that Dorking Wanderers last visited York Road for what was amassive six-pointer in the battle to stay in the Vanarama National League on 9 March 2024.thAlan Devonshire made three changes to the side that had lost 4-1 to Fylde in the North-Westthe previous weekend. Alan Massey came in at centre back in place of Will de Havilland, RemyClerima dropped out the team for Zico Asare and Ashley Nathaniel-George also started afterbeing on the bench the previous week. Marc White’s side had also been involved in a 4-1scoreline that same day - their home match with champions-elect Chesterfield had bustcoupons up and down the country as the Spireites surprisingly came unstuck in Surrey.Despite the Magpies starting the stronger of the two sides, the first chance to open thescoring fell to the visitors. A ball was whipped in to Jason Prior, whose header was fumbled byCraig Ross, Prior’s rebound effort cleared well off the line by Casey Pettit. Maidenheadresponded quickly with a chance of their own, as Tristan Abrahams found himself through ongoal, but Harrison Male was down well to push the striker's effort wide for a corner. The Magpies found themself in front minutes later through left back Sam Beckwith. Thedefender picked up the ball just inside the box on the left wing, and fired a drilled shot intothe bottom right corner. Reece Smith then had a great chance to double the lead straightfrom the restart, as he danced past a defender before trying to catch out Male at his near post, but the Dorking shot stopper was equal to it.Maidenhead would regret this missed chance, as Dorking counter attacked down the leftwing with Charlie Carter, who cut in onto his right foot and his scuffed shot found its way pastRoss to level the score. After a spell with little action, the hosts would restore their lead just before the half hour mark. The dangerous Smith (pictured, below) found himself in space outside the area, and his effortbounced off the post and nestled in the back of the Dorking net for his 10th goal of the season.five minutes before half time, Jayden Mitchell-Lawson doubled Maidenhead's lead inspectacular fashion. The winger picked up the ball on the halfway line, dribbled past threeDorking defenders and his left footed strike flew into the far corner.DORKING WOES DEEPENED

After a slow start to the second half from both teams, a goal scoring chance finally fellthe way of the hosts just before the hour mark. Abrahams picked up on a loose ballfrom a Dorking defender, played the ball to Smith who cut it back to Pettit, but themidfielder's curling shot failed to trouble Male. Dorking had a great chance to getback into the game shortly after as a cross from the left wing found Prior at the backpost, who smashed the ball over the bar and out of the stadium with his left foot. Priorthen once again found himself with a golden chance, as a mix up at the back saw theball fall for him at close range, but he couldn’t keep his header down. The forward would make up for his missed chances in the 65th minute, as a ball wasfloated in from the right wing, which Prior threw himself at and his header bobbledinto the bottom left corner of Craig Ross’ net. With 10 minutes left of the 90, Maidenhead had a chance to seal all 3 points. SamBarratt looked to catch Male out at the front post from a corner, the goalkeeper gotthe ball clear but only as far as Pettit whose effort was deflected into the hands of the‘keeper. United eventually wrapped up the 3 points in the 90th minute, as TristanAbrahams was slipped through on goal, cut past the last defender onto his left footand fired into the roof of the net to restore the Magpies two goal advantage. What Happened Next? Our National League status hadn’t been secured until an agonising final day theprevious season, but this time we were safe with a game to play. The next two awaygames were lost, but ten points from the final four league games at home saw Dev’smen safe, two late goals turning around the final home match with play-off chasingGateshead making a final day defeat at title-winners Chesterfield irrelevant.Dorking’s final tally of 45 points was insufficient to avoid a first ever relegation.AS MAGPIES HOPES SOAR

It was disappointment for MUWFC as they were defeated in the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup final atBeaconsfield Town FC on Sunday 15th March. Divisional rivals Ascot United deserved their victorywhich denied Maidenhead the chance to take the trophy home with them for the second seasonin a row, ensuring there is a brand new name on the Trophy this season.Maidenhead actually started the game well on a blustery and cold day in Buckinghamshire.Within two minutes a cross from the left was crashed narrowly wide of the far post by LyndseyPreston. Aaliyah Charles tested Cherry Preisner in the Ascot goal as the Magpies had the better ofthe early exchanges. There were however in truth very few quality chances created in the firsthalf, and somewhat against the run of play Ascot led through the scrappiest of goals. From a BellCox corner, Kenny Clarke in the Magpies goal felt she was impeded and the ball crossed the lineafter an almighty scramble. Referee Imogen Hooper discussed the incident with her assistantbut awarded the goal. Before the break, the Magpies had the ball in the Ascot net but with Izzy Stockton ruled to haveimpeded Preisner, Megan Harper’s strike was ruled out. Into the second period, Izzy Stocktonthreatened with an effort on goal early in the half and in response Delaney and Balaam hadattempts on goal for the Yellas, the latter effort expertly dealt with by Clarke to turn the shot overthe bar.Maidenhead began to get on top briefly with Preston and substitute Charley Evans going close, the latter with a header from a corner after Preisner had turned a dangerous cross from ChloeWebb behind. On the break Ascot won a free-kick on their left, the ball into the box was headedtowards goal and saved by Clarke with the outstanding Erin Huntley first to the loose ball tosmash home a crucial second goal with less than twenty minutes to go.That second goal was needed, because into injury time Preston cut in and scored insidePreisner’s near post to reduce the arrears. Maidenhead also had loud shouts for handball in thearea turned down by referee Hooper as the Magpies characteristically refused to give up,however Ascot had earlier gone closest to sewing the game up when Balaam was again deniedby Clarke and it took a brave block from Evans to deny substitute Goulden for the Yellas.MUWFC DEFEATED IN FINAL

The set-back of a first ever relegation for Dorking Wanderers - established in 1999 - in2024 was never likely to keep manager, founder and chairman Marc White down for longand the Surrey side now look odds on to clinch a place back in the Enterprise NationalLeague. Not bad for a club which started life in the Crawley & District League.A sixth-place finish last season in their first season back at Step 2 qualified them for aplay-off eliminator. In that game at Boreham Wood the hosts came from 3–1 down withonly eight minutes of normal time remaining to claim an unlikely 4–3 win in the sixthminute of stoppage time. The Wood went on to defeat Maidstone to win promotion.2026 has seen the Wanderers really hit their straps. Since the turn of the year they haveturned the screw in what once looked like a wide-open title race, losing just once leaguegame from their last fourteen. This has opened up an eight-point gap to the top and theWanderers have won both of their last two games prior to their short trip to EastBerkshire this afternoon. At struggling Enfield Town in midweek, Dorking were three up shortly after half time butthey allowed The Towners two quick goals to get the nerves jangking before AlfieRutherford wrapped up a 4-2 victory in the closing stages. This time last week,Wanderers secured a comeback victory against an Ebbsfleet side that the Magpies haverather struggled with this season. On a sunny day at Meadowbank Dorking foundthemselves behind just before half-time, following the away side’s first shot on target.Liam Vincent saw his side-footed effort blocked from close range, before Ben Chapmanstruck a wonderful long-range effort into the top corner to give the away side the lead.Dorking found their way back into the match in bizarre fashion early in the second half.Charlie Seaman attempted to play the ball back to his goalkeeper; however, his pass wasunderhit and Dennon Lewis was able to take advantage and tap the ball into an emptygoal. After Niall McManus struck the bar with a half-volley, Brennan Camp followed in toturn home and give Wanderers a valuable lead before new striker Sam Pearson enteredthe pitch with four minutes to play, scoring one minute later with his second touch andbecoming the third Dorking player to score on his debut this season.TODAY’S OPPOSITION

A last-minute winner once again paved the way for three points coming home to Berkshireas Maidenhead United defeated Eastbourne Borough last Saturday afternoon. Ryan Petersmade three changes to the starting lineup, with Josh Umerah, Jayden Mitchell-Lawson andRyan Bartley taking the field. With his one-game suspension not yet in effect, Will deHavilland captained the side.A rather uneventful start to the afternoon saw United struggle to break down the Sports’defence. Josh Umerah came the closest with an upwards headed pass to Asher Yearwoodwhich was caught by Rohan Luthra. It was the bottom-of-the-table side which presentedthe biggest threat to the clean sheet in the first half. United failed to clear an Eastbournecorner, which allowed Tayt Trusty to deliver to Laiith Fairnie – an opportunity which thedefender headed wide. Arthur Grout also sought the net after receiving a through ball fromIsaac Pitblado, with the former’s effort beating Jordi van Stappershoef but also the crossbar. An offside from a United free kick summed up a lacklustre half as the teams headed intothe dressing room level. The gamechanger needed to revitalise a sluggish afternoon came shortly after the teamsreturned to the field. Freddie Carter made a clumsy challenge on Josh Popoola with theattacker through on goal, leaving referee Jack Willmore no choice but to give the Sports’captain his marching orders.United responded with an early opportunity after long stoppage, as Jayden MitchellLawson played a delightful cross to Umerah, who was inches away from a certain goal asthe ball drifted from his reach Umerah had the next realistic opportunity, but could notkeep his effort from a cleared corner under the bar. Substitute Liam Dulson also couldn’tfind the target after cutting on the right, with his shot drifting wide of the post. The freshlegged duo of Alfie Pendlebury and Dillon de Silva were the next to threaten Luthra’s posts.Miles Welch-Hayes delivered the throw, and Pendlebury flicked on. De Silva was not quiteable to get his shot off as Luthra closed in.It looked set to be a frustrating afternoon for United until the very end when Dulsonproduced a moment of magic. Great buildup from De Silva and Harry Pritchard providedDulson with the opportunity to tee up and shoot, firing past Luthra in the 89th minute.EASTBOURNE BOROUGH (A)

The Magpies recent run of good form - underpinned by a frugal defence - was checkedin midweek as Ebbsleet recorded a league double over the Magpies.Maidenhead were missing their captain Will De Havilland, serving a one matchsuspension and the reshuffled defence conceded three goals before a remarkable laterally almost saw Ryan Peters side recover an improbable point deep in injury time. This was a slow burner of a game and the deadlock was broken with 32 minutes on theclock. A press on the Magpies box saw Ben Chapman work his way into space and hepicked out former Maidenhead man Josh Coley with his delivery, Coley’s headerbeating Jordi van Stappershoef to land in the bottom corner.Maidenhead dominated the early exchanges of the second half and were nearly levelinside the first thirty seconds of the second period as Josh Umerah’s header was savedby Matt Hall. Against the run of play, Fleet doubled the lead just after the hour whenColey made strong run down the left and laid the ball off to Toby Edser who sent a lowdrive smartly into the bottom corner. When a handball decision saw substitute KwesiAppiah stroke home a penalty kick the away side looked home and dry.Anyone leaving early however nearly missed the comeback of all comebacks. Topscorer Liam Dulson finally defeated Hall with an angled drive in the first minute of sixadded on and ithe United fans at the Bell Street End suddenly had another goal tocheer when Matt Robinson was first in the queue to smash home a loose ball at the farpost with still two minutes of those six yet to play. There was still time for another United corner. Van Stappershoef came up to add to thecrowd scene in the area and it was the head of the big Dutch ‘keeper which connectedfirmly with the set piece which Hall did brilliantly to react to to parry away. Jordi wasfirst to the loose ball and he fired an acrobatic volley inches over the top as United fanscollectively gasped. Moments later they broke into polite applause at full time, heartened by the late rally which could have had a most momentous ending.EBBSFLEET UNITED (H)

Goalkeeper Jordi van Stappershoef is the latest member of Ryan Peters squad to havesigned a contract extension with the club.Jordi joined last summer as part of a massive overhaul of the squad, a squad in whichhe has remained ‘number one’ since. Our big Dutchman has started 38 games already this campaign across all competitions, keeping an impressive 14 clean sheets in that time. Jordi has come up with some pivotalsaves in many fixtures this season, including the last-minute stop at Tonbridge Angelsbefore launching the attack from which Matt Robinson scored. Following that up with ahandful of crucial blocks against Torquay United to ensure we made the 190-mile triphome with a point - just to name a few.Crucial stops have earned him recognition from the management staff, Magpies fansand an appearance in the Enterprise National League South Team of the Weekfollowing a shutout away to Hemel Hempstead in late December.Following the contract extension, Ryan Peters said: “Jordi has been a breath of fresh airsince joining us. He brings an air of professionalism and positivity to this talented group. He is low maintenance, never misses training or games and is incredibly reliable.\"I am over the moon that he has chosen to stay on with us as I truly believe he is thebest in the league.\"In recent weeks, United have also announced that influential midfielder Matt Robinsonand Jadyn Dundas - the teenager currently on loan at Hendon, for whom he scored inSaturday’s victory at Ascot United - have committed to longer term deals with the club.JORDI LATEST TO SIGN

Up until 2017 Maidenhead United had not recorded a home league victory at YorkRoad on 21 March – all that would change in convincing style with the midweekvisit of Oxford City for a National League South encounter. The Magpies were sittingtop of the table and went ahead in the sixth minute, Jack Parkinson heading in atthe far post. Dave Tarpey struck twice on 33 and 36 minutes to give United acomfortable half-time lead. Just before the hour mark Harry Pritchard burst intothe area to fire a left-footed shot past Craig Hill to make it 4-0 before substituteJordan Cox headed in a fifth on 76 minutes. City reduced the deficit with a goalfrom ex-Magpie Jefferson Louis in the 86 minute but Maidenhead had the lastword in the final minute, Cox scoring from the penalty spot after being broughtdown by Hill to complete a 6-1 rout.stthA goal from Richard Pacquette two minutes into first-half injury time setMaidenhead on their way to a comfortable 3-0 success at Dorchester Town today in2009. Pacquette, who had just returned from an unsuccessful loan spell at Histonset up a header for Mustafa Tiriaki to make it 2-0 on 57 minutes. A long punt upfield from keeper Miklos Erdelyi eluded everyone apart from Pacquette in the 74minute, the itinerant striker latched on to the loose ball to lash home the third. Thematch was marred by an horrific injury to Maidenhead striker Gavin James afterjust ten minutes; James had to be stretchered off suffering a dislocated ankle andbroken fibular, he recovered to continue his career in non-league football.thThe Magpies were fighting to keep their heads above the relegation zone whenthey travelled to Molesey in 1992 for an Isthmian League 1 Division match; spurredon by 70 or so travelling supporters (making up half the crowd) United took thelead in the 16 minute via Gary Hall. Benny Laryea made it 2-0 right at the start ofthe second half netting his 110 career goal for the Magpies following good work byMicky Floyd. Sean O’Shea hit back for the home side on the hour but with just threeminutes remaining Dave Osgood smacked home a 25 yarder to secure a 3-1 victory.stththON THIS DAYBy Maurice Cann
