1.0INTRODUCTION
1.1Backgroundinformation
ByreferringtoourMinisterofEducationDr.MaszleebinMalikduringScrabble
PlayerSummitinRoyaleChulanHotelhehadoncesaid“pleasetakecareofyour
cleanlinessintheclassroom andhomebecauseitinfluencesyourthinkingskills”.
Theissueofcleanlinessisourconcerninthiscollege.Theclassroom environmentis
ateachingresourcethatshouldnotbeignored.Asweknow,studentsspendthe
majority oftheirday in classroom,then itis ourresponsibility to make our
environmentandatmospherethatenhanceslearning.
Developing classroom environmentto learning isaprocessthatentails
staging the physical space,getting students to cooperate,creating fresh
environment and maintaining a positive classroom climate. However, the
complication thatwe are facing is classrooms environmentis notclean and
uncomfortable forthe students.Thus,we have decided to provide a better
classroomsenvironmentforstudentsbyorganizing communityservice such as
cleaning the windows,sweeping the floorand rearranging the desks.Ifthe
classroom areindirty,itwillaffecthumansuchaseasytogetsneezingbecauseof
manydustandstudent’semotionaltostudy.Cleanlinessisimportanttousinorder
tostayhealthy.Thecommunityservicewearegoingtoconductwillgivenumerous
ofbenefitsto studentsfrom theaspectsofcleanliness,health and conducive
classrooms.
1.2Justificationandsignificance
Inourcollege,thiscommunityvoluntaryactivitywouldgivebenefitsforstudents
suchasfosteringthespiritofcooperation,helpingeachotherandinducingpositive
learningenvironment.Frequently,inourcommunitythemeaningofteamworkisvery
importantinordertoensuretheprogrammeheldprogressessmoothly.Eachperson
inateam mustbewelldisciplinedandcooperativetomakesuretheprogrammeis
abletofinishontimesuccessfully.

Through communityservice,we are able to help each otherwhich is between
students and cleaners.Since the tutorialrooms of block BT1 in Malacca
MatriculationCollagearenottidyandclean,soweplantoholdactivitytocleanthe
roomsforafewclassestocreateconducive
learning environmentforstudents.A positive learning environmentwillhelp
promotingthestudentssocialandemotionalwell-beinginsidetheclassroom.As
wellastotightenourrelationshipbetweenstudentsandcleanersthatinvolveinthis
programmeareabletocreate.Toconclude,inordertominimizetheproblem about
cleanlinesswhicharefacedbystudentsinourcollegeweneedtodocommunity

A.)PreparationbeforetheActivity:
On15/12/2020/wehadourcommunityservicedone.Beforewestarted,wedecided
aplacetomeetupwithallofourteam members.Afterthearrivalofalltheteam
members,wewenttotheequipmentstoreattutorialroom 2totakeallthe
equipmentweneededonthedaysuchasbrooms,plasticbagsanddustpan.Before,
westartedourcommunityservice,twoofourgroupmembersNajihahandAmirah
hadmeetthecleanertogetpermissiontoborrowtheirequipmentbecauseitwas
irresponsibletotakesomeone’sbelongingswithouttheirknowledge.Wehadlearnt
thatitisnecessarytoaskpermissionfrom theparticularpersonbeforeborrowing
theirbelongings.Itwasahelpfulmoralvaluethatwelearntfrom ourcommunity
service,andwehopethatitwouldbeagoodexampletoothergroupmembersand
wouldcreateagreatpersonalityforourfuture.Aftertakingnecessaryequipmentwe
wenttotutorialroom 1,whileeveryonearehelpingeachotherbringingthe
equipmenttoeaseourwork.Ittaughtushowteamworkisimportantinagroupso
thattheworkwillbecarryoutsmoothlywithoutanyargumentsbetweenourteam
members.Afterarrivingattutorialroom 1,wewaitedfortheguardtounlockthe
doorsoftheroom andalsowaitingfortheotherteam memberstoarrivefrom a
differentpracticum whichwasS12P3,thathadcollaboratewithusinthiscommunity
service.Themorethepeoplejoinedusthemerrierthecommunityservicewillbeand
thereachforourcommunityservicewillbehigherandmanystudentswilllearn
aboutourcommunityservice.Ourcommunityservicewouldreachmanystudents
andtheywouldrealizethatitistheirresponsibilitytokeepthetutorialclassesclean,
inourcollege(MalaccaMatriculationCollege).Afterafewminutestheother
practicum grouparrivedandjoinedourcommunityservice.Weputalltheneeded
equipmentatthecorneroftheroom andwealsobroughtsomeextraequipmentlike
pails,clothssoapsandtissuesthatwouldbehandyduringthecleaningactivity.We
hadashortbriefingabouturcleaningprogressourgroupleadergaveashorttalkto
ustosmoothentheprocessbeforewestarted.Duringhisbriefing,hestressedabout
howteamworkisimportant.Team workplaysamainroletoaccomplishourtaskin
ourcommunityservicebecause"comingtogetherisabeginning,keepingtogetheris
progress,andworkingtogetherissuccess".Team workcommunicationare
importantbecauseitbuilttrustbetweenourteam membersandmadethem feel
theycanrelyoneachothertocompletethetaskstogether.Then,westartedto
divideourdutysoeachpersonfrom ourteam wouldhavetheirownrolesothe
processofcleaningwillbefasterandquicker.Thecommunityserviceweconducted
hadgivennumerousbenefitstostudentsfrom theaspectsofcleanliness,healthand
conduciveenvironment.

b.)Duringthecommunityservice
Beforecleaningtheroom wedidallthepreparationtoeaseournextactions.
Firstthingfirst,twoofourgroupmembers,ZulandZahidiwereaskedtotake
waterinapaletomakethedetergentsolution.Second,Kirthana,Amirahand
Najihahwereinstructedbytheteam instructortocleanthewindows.They
wipedthewindowstoremovethedirtsbyusingtheimmersedoldclothsin
thedetergentssolution.Thispartwasimportantinordertoachievethe
objectiveofcreatingconduciveclassroom especiallyforstudentwhohad
allergytowardsdust.Inaddition,afewprecautionsweretakentoavoidany
breakageoffragilesubstancesoranysuddenbleedingonhuman.Thefemale
studentswereremindedgentlyandseriouslytodoitslowlyandcarefullyby
notdoingitbyhandoverthewindowsinashortdistance.Third,themale
studentswereinstructedtocleanthefansontheceiling.Theyremovedthe
dustlocatedonthefanbyusingtheprovidedbrooms.Eachofthem tooktwo
fanstomakethecleaningprocessfasterandsmoother.Afterswipingby
usingthebroom thedoubleditbywipingthefansbyusingtheimmersedold
clothinthedetergenttoremoveandkillthegerm onthefans.Afew
precautionsweretakentoavoidanyundesirableincident.Theyhadhandled
bydoingwipingofthefanswithcareandslowlytobemorecautious.Then,as
theZulandZahidiswipethefansusingthebroom andthentheywereasked
towipethedustsonthedesksandchairsbyusingtheclothes.Next,male
studentswereinstructedtoarrangethefurnitureforKirthanaandAmirahto
swipeawaythedustfrom theclassroom.Thechairswereliftedontothe
desksafterswipingthedustsonthedesks.Thisstepwasimportanttoease
thenextstepwhichistoswipeandremovethedustsonthefloor.Afterthat,
femalestudentswereinstructedtoswipethedustsandothertrashesonthe
floorandeliminatethem.Otherthanthat,inordertokeepthedesksinhygiene
whichwasmoreconduciveforstudentstousewewerepolishthem with
sanitizer.Itisgoodtokilltheharmfulgermswhichmightaffectstudents
especiallywhohaslowimmunitytowardsgermsandanyotherinfections.In
sequence,beforecleaningthewindowsweactuallyhaduntiedandtookoff
thecurtainstohavemoreeffectivespaceforwindowshandlingtask.Thenthe
curtainsweretakentotheoutsideoftheclassroom aswefoundthem were
reallydirty.Nextweworkedonthem byswishingthem underthesunlightand
leavethem undersunlightfortheextratime.Why?Becausethiswastheonly
stepwehadinordertokillthegermsthatmayexistonthecurtain.Wewere
unabletowashthem andleftthem underthesunlightaswehadnoverymuch
timeandhadnofoundationforthatpurpose.Lastly,wehadarranged
everythingbacktoashowitwasbeforewithextrabettercondition.Everyone
ofusplayedanimportantroletocleaneverything.Theturbiddetergent
solutionwerethrownintothesinkinthetoiletandthepailswerecleanedup.
Theoldclothswerewashedinthesinkandleftithangonthesidewalks.

C.)Aftertheactivity:
Afterourcommunityservicehaddoneasperourplanning,weallhad
tookasmallbreakfrom ourgroupdiscussionaswecompletedourcommunity
servicesuccessfullybecausetheactivityofcleaningBT1room wasthebiggestjob
inourwholeproject.Asourcommunityservicewascarriedoutlucrativelywithout
anycomplications.Itwasbigreliefforallofourgroupmembers.Throughoutour
projectwehadagreatbondingandweallfeltgreataboutourteamworkbecause
therewerenoquarrelsorunsatisficationwhilewewerecleaning.Wealsohadan
ideathatthesekindofcleaningactivitiesshouldcarriedoutmoreoftenasitgivesus
numerousofbenefitssuchascreatingagreatbondingandunderstandingbetween
us,gaveanawarenessoncleaningandprovidedaconsciousnessofcleaningcan
leadtoahealthylifestyle.Thiscleaningprojecthadcreatedsuchawonderful
memoryinourlivesasthisexperiencewouldbeusefulinourfuture.Weleftthe
room spotless.Aftertheproject,wereturnedthecleaningequipmentsuchas
brooms,clothsandpailstothecleaner.Thefollowingdaywasabigdayforus,as
weallwaitedforthefeedbacksfrom thestudentsaboutcleaningproject.Wewere
reallyenthusiasticaboutwhatwillbethecommentsaboutourcommunityservice
thatwecarriedout.Weallexpectedsomepositivefeedbacksasitwouldbea
boosterforourupcomingprojectsanditwillboostourenergiestodoourupcoming
worksmoresuccessfully.Wealsoexpectedsomenegativefeedbacksaseveryrose
hasitsthornsbecausethroughoutourprojecttherewasandwouldbesome
mistakes.Asperexpected,therewerealotapositivefeedbacksandsomenegative
feedbacks.Asarepresentationforpositivefeedbacksthestudentshadcommented
thattheclasswecleanedwasreallywelcomingandtheyfeltcomfortableduring
theirclass.Theyalsosaidthatthecleanandaconducivesurroundingsmadethem
moreenergetictobeintheclass.Thenegativefeedbackwastherewerespotsinthe
classroom thatshouldbecleanedwellandtheyalsohopedthatourcommunity
servicewouldbebetterifwehavedoneinothertutorialclasses.Wewereall
satisfiedwithallthecommentswereceived.Wewillkeepupourprogressandwould
learnfrom ourmistakesthatwemade.Belowtherearesomeexamplesoffeedback
thatwereceived.

3.1CONCLUSION
a.)Accomplishmentofobjectives
Inanutshell,throughoutourprojectwehadlearntinnumerableparticulars
thatwouldhelpinourfuture.Wehadawonderfultimeduringourcommunityservice
asourprojectwasaccomplishedsuccessfullywithoutanyinterruption.Thus,asI
saidbeforewecarriedourcommunityserviceasplanned,wehadsuccessfully
achievedourobjectives.Themainobjectivewastoprovidecleanandaconducive
environmentforstudents.Asweplanned,wehadprovidedacleanandconducive
environmentforthestudentsbycleaningatutorialroom calledasBT1.1.4inour
MalaccaMatriculationCollege.Afterourcleaningprogress,thenextdaywereceived
feedbackthattheclasswascleanandstudentsfeltcomfortableduringtheclasses.
Apartfrom that,wealsoenhancedagoodrelationshipandcreatedagood
understandingbetweenourteam members.Webecomeevencloserasifeveryone
hadsuchagoodunderstandingalthoughweareallfrom differentraces,andeach
andeveryoneofushaddifferentbackgrounds.Webelievethat,throughour
communityservicewehadcreatedanawarenesstomanystudentsabout
cleanliness.Wehadclearlyshownthem thathowcleanlinesscanaffectourmindset
duringtheclasses.Forinstance,acleanandconduciveclassroom providedagood
boosterforeveryonetobeenergeticintheirclasses.Moreover,acleanand
conduciveclassroom providesahealthierenvironmenttothestudents.Weallare
proudandhappybecausewehaddoneagooddeedtoourcommunityfor
bettermentofthecommunity.Throughoutourcommunityservicewehadenjoyed
everysinglemoment.Allofourgroupmembershadawonderfultimeandthe
experiencewegainedisunforgettableandcannotbeexpressedbywords.Despite
allthechallengesduringourcommunityservicewehadaccomplishedallofour
objectives.

Afteraccomplishingourcommunityservice,asperourteam wehadagoodtime
duringourprojectsandlearntalotoffrom ourcommunityservice.Thiswould
alwaysbehelpfulinourfuture.

-Asaleaderofourgrouphewasresponsibleforeverysingleworkthatwedid,he
statedthatquitesatisfiedwithourcommunityservice.Hesaidallofthegroup
membersdidourworkefficientlyalthoughthereweresomequarrelsbetweenus.He
alsosaidthatworkingasagroupwasunforgettablememoryforhim andlearnabout
whatactuallyteam cooperationmeans.Otherthanteam cooperation,hesaidthat
alsolearnthathowtokeepacleansurroundingasitwouldhelphim tobepositive.

-Najihahsaidthatshehadreallyenjoyedthemomentswehadduringcommunity
service,andwasgratefulforagettingacooperativegroupaswasableto
accomplishanytasksthatwasgivenbyouradvisorviaourteam workand
cooperation.Najihahalsoaddedthatshelearnedhowcleanenvironmentcam
changeone’smodewhilestudyingthussheadmittedthatshealwaysbesurethat
herstudytablewillalwaysbeclean.

-Shehadsaidthatshelearnedaboutcooperationamongteam membersisreally
importanttoaccomplishatalk.Shefurthermentionedthatshealsorealizedthat
withoutpropercooperationourcommunityservicecan'tbesuccessfulaswe
expected.Shealsorecommendedthatifthereweremorecleaningequipmentsuch
asbroomsandclothsforourcommunityservicewouldbeeasiertobecarriedout.

-AsforKirthanashehadanunforgettablememorythroughoutourwhole
communityservice.Althoughtherewerealotunsatisficationandquarrelsinour
discussionbutweallmanagedtocomeoutwithasolutionforeverysingleproblem
thatwefaced.Shealsosaidhadabetterunderstandingbetweenourgroup
memberswhenweallworkedasateam.Sheaddedthatshepersonallyreally
enjoyedworkingasagroup.Shehopedthatwewouldhaveabetterunderstandingif
wehadmoregroupdiscussionsaboutourproject.(Beforeandaftercommunity
service).Shehopedthatourcommunityservicewouldgiveawarenesstothe
studentsaboutcleanlinessandourcollegeadministrationwouldimplementthis
activityasaweeklyactivityinourcollege.Shealsosaidthatshelearnedthataclean
placewillpromotehealthylivingstyle.Sosheaddedthatifapersonisclean,their
healthalsowillbemaintainedwell.
c.Limitation
Wefacednumerouschallengesforinstancewehaddifficulttimetodecidethetime,
venueanddatetodiscussaboutourprojectbecauseallofuswerebusywithour
assignments.Atthebeginning,ourfirstideawasnotgoodenoughtobeour
communityserviceasitrequiredalotofformalities.Infact,wehadanideatodoa
‘carwash’serviceduetolackmanpowerandcleaningequipment,especiallythereis
novacuum cleaner,andwehadchangedourideatoanotherproject.

3.2RECOMMENDATIONS
Inotherwords,includingallourhardworkthereweresomerecommendations
andsuggestionsthatwewouldliketoemphasizehere.Thecleaningprogresswould
becarriedouteasierandquickerasiftheyweremorestudentsinvolvedandthey
wereenoughofcleaningequipment.Asperoneofgroupmates,Muhammad
Zulhelmihehadlearnedthat,wemusthavemoremotivationoncleaningthe
environmentespeciallyfortheclassesthatwearestudyingatandalsotohave
cleanerclassesthatareconducivetostudyin.Wehopethatourcollege(Malacca
MatriculationCollege)willimplementthisactivityasacompulsoryactivitythat
needstobecarryoutbyalltutorialsatleastoncepersemestertoenjoythebenefits
from involvinginit.Besidesthat,musthavetheinitiativetoindulgethemselvesin
suchabeneficialactivityratherthanwastingtheirtimebydoingunnecessarythings.
Wehopethatthestudentswillbeawareoftheimportanceofkeepingthe
environmentclean.AstheFrenchquotesays“Ifyoucan’tcleanyoursurroundings
thendon’tmakeitdirty”.So,Ihopethatforourcommunityservicethatwedid
fulfilledthefuturesituationfortheobjectiveswhichwastoprovideacleanand
conduciveenvironmentforstudents.
Overall,itmaybesaidthecommunityservicethatweconductedhadgiven
numerousbenefitstostudentsfrom theaspectsofcleanliness,healthand
conduciveenvironment.
