Environmental, Health & Safety Primer - Full Day

This course will provide a general understanding and update of environmental regulations and management. All major regulatory
areas will be covered. It is highly recommended for individuals new to the environmental field, especially those with regulatory
responsibilities. Topics include the Clean Air Act, OSHA Overview, Hazardous Wastes, Stormwater Permits, Wastewater Permits,
Emergency Planning, Tanks and Management Systems.

DOT HazMat Training and Certification - Full Day

This course, along with on-site job specific training, will meet the DOT Hazardous Materials Training certification requirements. Topics
include Training Requirements & Enforcement, Identifying Hazmat & Hazard Classification, Shipping Papers, Including Hazardous Waste
Manifest, Labeling, Marking & Placarding, Security Planning & Risk Assessment and more.

Air Quality - Full Day/Optional Half Day

This course is intended for the novice and the experienced air pollution control practitioner by offering the option of attending a portion
of the course based on specific needs. In the morning, the program will provide the background on the regulations and in the
afternoon, the latest evolving implementation issues affecting emission sources in Wisconsin. Includes topics on Air Permitting and Air
Inspections and Enforcement.

Journey to Sustainability - Half Day Morning

This course is designed to provide inspiration, ideas, tools and resources for companies looking to start or improve their sustainability
program. Topics include Sustainability Metrics, Case Studies and Resources.

OSHA’s New Global Harmonization Rule - Half Day Afternoon

This course is designed to provide information on how the new rules may affect you and your business,
including the December 1st compliance date. Topics include History of the Rule, Discrepancies and
Exemptions.

The purpose of this course is to update course participants on the WDNR Storm Water Program, learn
about the requirements to develop a SWPPP and delve into the various storm water best management 3
practices and compliance strategies to meet in-stream water quality criteria. Topics include a DNR program
update and SWPPP Development and Regenerative Stormwater Conveyance.

Cynthia Faur, Partner, Quarles & Brady
Wednesday, October 28th Session 1 Plenary Speaker
Cynthia Faur practices in the area of environmental law, advising clients in all aspects of environmental
regulation, including solid and hazardous waste regulation, clean water issues, endangered species issues, and
Superfund. Ms. Faur has substantial experience on all facets of the Clean Air Act, including permitting, air
quality modeling, New Source Performance Standards, hazardous air pollutants, mobile sources, fuel
additives, a variety of climate change and sustainability issues, and on environmental justice considerations
associated with the siting and operation of industrial facilities.

Prior to joining Quarles & Brady, Ms. Faur served as the Confidential Senior Policy Advisor to the Regional
Administrator of the United States Environmental Protection Agency, Region 5, where she participated in the
development and implementation of the Region 5 Framework for Addressing Climate Change and Clean
Energy, a multi-media approach to encourage greenhouse gas emission reductions in the Great Lakes region.

Christopher Burns, EPA Region 5 Superfund Technical Assessment & Response Team (START) Readiness
Coordinator
Wednesday, October 28th Luncheon Keynote Speaker
Christopher Burns has over 15 years of experience in the environmental field and manages a team of 30
emergency responders over 8 offices within 6 states under EPA Region 5. Mr. Burns is also the deputy program
manager of the EPA Region 5 START Contract for Tetra Tech. He has responded to over 400 oil spills,
conducting responses to oil spills, complaints, fish kills, and a multitude of site assessments.

His experience includes responses to small releases from above ground home heating oil tanks to larger
releases from underground storage tanks and pipelines that have affected surface water, groundwater, and
soil. His responsibilities during these activities have included management of personnel and equipment as well
as support during a wide variety of emergency responses such as the Kalamazoo Enbridge Line 6B Pipeline
Release and the BNSF Train Derailment.

Cathy Stepp, Wisconsin DNR Secretary
Thursday, October 29th Luncheon Keynote Speaker
Secretary Cathy Stepp has lead the DNR since 2011. Stepp notes her administration is concentrating on
improving DNR's customer relations and streamlining and simplifying permitting. She believes job creation
and environmental protection are mutually supportive. Under Secretary Stepp's leadership, the DNR was the
first state agency to apply Lean Government efforts to its organization. With a priority to make the DNR more
transparent, she guided efforts to create greater public input for internal processes, holds Stakeholder
Roundtable meetings on a semi-annual basis, implemented social media tools and an improved customer-
based DNR web site.

Since her appointment, Secretary Stepp was selected by national organizations such as Environmental Council
of States (ECOS) and Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies (AFWA) to represent the State of Wisconsin.
She is also the DNR representative for meetings, speaking engagements and events with Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA), US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) and Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE).

Tuesday, October 27th - Annual Meeting and President’s Dinner

Join us at 6:00 PM for FET Annual Meeting in the Meadowbrook Room.
We will be recognizing FET’s volunteer leaders and give an update on FET activities.

The President’s Dinner, hosted by FET President Renee Bashel, will be held following the Annual
Meeting. It will include a cash bar and dinner, and is a great way to socialize with others that are attending
the conference. Spouses and Guests are welcome to attend. Registration and payment are required for the
dinner; please use the form on page 11 to register.
