Assalamualaikum W.B.T.

Greetings and a very warm welcome to our BizNewz 1st issue of 2019.
Alhamdulillah.

Every time we hear about Laporan Nilaian Prestasi Tahunan (LNPT), writings
and publications would automatically come into our mind, annually. It is
common to say how some of us have wished to get them started at the
beginning of every year in order to have a very decent list of writings
and publications at the end of the year. I am glad to say that BizNewz
is always ready to serve as a platform and provide opportunities for
all UiTMT staff and students to immerse themselves in the realm of
writing and publication. BizNewz constantly welcomes a wide range
of articles from almost anyone as we believe that everyone in this
institution has the ability to play with his or her pen and computer
keyboard.

This December 2018 – May 2019 issue has once again brought
to you a variety of writing and reading materials not only
from lecturers but also students who wish to share
their thoughts, experiences, knowledge, and know-
how. Besides, the issue has also featured the
new format of e-bulletin with more glamorous
images and graphic settings as our graphic
team has put its best effort to design our
e-bulletin and made it more interesting,
eye-catching, and prestigious.

Last but not least, BizNewz would
like to thank everyone who has
contributed wonderful articles and
photos to our e-bulletin, which
makes it outstanding and stay
relevant. We are truly honoured to
be able to share your thoughts and
ideas with our readers.

We can’t make this without you.

Thank you.

Wassalamualaikum W.B.T.

When babies are starting their solid food, this is the period where parents should start being concern
about their babies’ teeth. The main reason for tooth decay is based on how frequent the babies eat
or drink any sugary content in their food or drink. It is not the amount of sugar in the babies’ diet.
Parents are advised to limit the sugary food for their babies during mealtime session only for not
more than four times a day.

Here are some of the methods for parents to take care of their babies’ teeth:

Avoid carbonated drinks, fruit juices, flavored milk and flavored drinks such as
bandung, sirap, sarsi and many more.

Prepare a healthy and balanced diet for the babies. Persuade them to
enjoy other than sweetened foods for instance savory food, fresh fruits and
vegetables. And never add any sugar to their diet.

When buying baby’s food at stores, make sure to buy food that is sugar-
free, or have no added sugar, or sweeteners.

Please take note that other sugar like fructose, glucose or lactose are
actually as risky as sucrose which can be harmful to the babies’ teeth.

Try to avoid baby bottle tooth decay. This mostly happens at the upper
front teeth when extended exposure of the babies’ teeth to the drinks

which contain sugar such as formula milk are given.

Practice regular brushing sessions with your babies so that they will
become accustomed to them plus have fun during the brushing sessions.

Have early exposure on cleaning babies’ teeth, as early as when the first
teeth is visible so that your baby gets used to the cleaning process.

Set regular check-ups with the dentist so that the dentist can detect any
early sign of tooth decay.

Taking care of babies’ teeth is important. Even though they are small,
they represent as placeholders for adult teeth. If the teeth is not taken care
off at the early stage, your children might have trouble chewing as well as
speaking distinctly. Those are the reasons why protecting babies’ teeth and
preserving them from having decay is essential for parents.
