MEN’S TOURNAMENT GOLF ASSOCIATION INFORMATION

In an effort to continue to increase tournament participation, offer a great value, and give
better service, the Rolling Hills Tournament Committee would like to once again offer
the membership a Men’s Tournament Golf Association (MTGA).

Participants will accumulate points based on where they finished in the MTGA
tournaments with 110 points being awarded for first place, 90 points for second, 75 points
for third, 62 points for fourth, 50 for fifth, 39 for sixth, 29 for seventh 20 for eighth, 12
for ninth and 8 points for participation. Double points will be awarded for the Club
Championships. 1-1/2 points for the Individual Summer Long Tournament and Triumph
Cup. Pro shop credit will be awarded to the top five finishers; $500, $400, $300, $200
and $100 respectively. Moreover, the Player of the Year will have his name inscribed
and placed onto a plaque in the club’s trophy case. The top 11 point leaders will be
eligible for the 3rd annual Clear Creek/Poudre River Classic Inter Club match
against Ptarmigan Country Club in October.

In 2019 we will offer a 12 event package, which includes a $25 contribution to
Eisenhower-Evans Scholarship Program, and the closing awards lunch. Special events
like the Two-Man Spring League, the Summer Long Match Play, Men’s Guest
Days, Senior Club Championship, 8,000 Yard Tournament, and Pro-Member are
separate events and are NOT a part of the MTGA. If a member were to play and
participate in all 12 events it would cost them over $1500 (including carts). Our price is
all inclusive of prizes, pro shop credit, and trophies for selected events, including the
closing night dinner at a price of ONLY $750 ($650 for Carts Unlimited Members), a
SAVINGS OF OVER 50%!

If you play in 3 of the 4 two-day events and one other event you will cover your
annual fee.

The season will culminate with an awards lunch on Friday, September 20, 2019.

Members of the MTGA will also receive FREE CARTS, a $385 value, for the
tournaments listed. You do not have to be a member of the MTGA in order to participate
in any of the events below; however, the full entry fee will apply when playing events a
la carte.

Please note that during any of the (5) Triumph Cup events that tee times are
available to all primary members and secondary members on those days. On
the June 15th U.S. Open Saturday we will also include Ladies to play in this
event against each other. Tee time restrictions still apply during these 5
Saturday’s, historically we have space available for both tournament and
non-tournament players.

FORMAT

All players will be able to select one PGA Professional
as their playing partner for the day. Your NET score

plus the PGA Professional’s of your choice will be your
score for the day for the black and blue flight.

You may play in all five events and throw out two
scores for your total in the Triumph Cup. Three scores
aggregate will determine the overall champions in the

gross black tee and net blue tee divisions.
You must play in three of the scheduled events to

qualify to win the Triumph Cup.
NO FIVESOMES WILL BE ALLOWED IN THESE EVENTS.

FORMAT
4-man shamble. 2 net scores per team. Each 4-man team
will have an A, B, C and D player based on handicap.
Each player will tee-off from their appropriate tee-box.
The team will then select the “best” drive and play your
OWN ball for the remainder of the hole. All putts must
be holed out. You must use each player's drive 2 times.
A ball played through the green may be played within
one (1) club length from the chosen shot no nearer
to the hole. Shots selected from HAZARD, ROUGH,
BUNKER, FAIRWAY, FRINGE must remain in the
selected shots lie.

TEES
Each player will play from the selected tees based upon
his handicap.

A players - Blue tees
B players - Blue tees
C players - Silver tees
D players - Silver tees (under 65 years)
Copper tees (over 65 years)

FORMAT
Five, 9-hole matches. Play will be four-ball match play,

net basis using 90% handicap. Teams will receive one
point for winning the hole, half a point for halving the

hole. Maximum of five and a half points won per
match. The team that accumulates the most points in

all five rounds will be the winning team of their
respective flight and qualify for the Scotch Shootout.

to compete for a TOTAL of the two day event. Optional
two-man best ball available. Payouts are for Friday and
Saturday. All best ball payouts will be Golf Shop credit.
Optional individual skins game.
Make your own foursome. Select your own tee time.

FORMAT
Two-man scotch format, alternate shot, using one ball.
Team handicaps will be one half of the combined team’s

handicap. If for any reason, team(s) is/are unable to
schedule their match by the deadline date, the match

will be determined by an automatic coin toss.

June 1st handicaps will be used for the first match, or
your tournament handicap, whichever is lower. The
balance of the matches will use the handicap posted at
the starting date of each round of matches. Handicaps
posted at the time of the original drawing can never
go up, however they may go down. Handicaps cannot
change during a match period. All play is from the blue

tees.

Tournament matches may schedule tee times in advance
and may be scheduled for weekends prior to the Friday

lottery.

FORMAT
On all odd numbered holes count the net best ball of the
twosome. On all even numbered holes count total net
strokes for both balls. There will be team prizes for Golf
Shop credit and there will be two flights based on total
team handicap.

All play is from the blue tees.
Play will be 90% handicap.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
A qualifier on Saturday morning will
determine the field of seven in both flights.
*In case of a tie, there will be a playoff on hole #1. This is the only
way to qualify for match play. Previous year’s winners are exempt.

FORMAT
Black Flight
Play will be from the black tees and without handicap.
Blue Flight
Play will be from the blue tees and at 90% handicap.

The seven lowest scores for each flight will qualify and
be seeded by score for the Match Play Championship,
which will include matches for first, second, third and

fourth place for each flight.

INDIVIDUAL MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP
June 29 & 30

One match will be conducted Saturday after the
qualifying round and two matches conducted Sunday.

Sunday’s final round will include the players playing
for the championship and the two semi-final losers

will split third and fourth place prizes. Winners of the
Individual Match Play Championship will be Maxwell

Cup eligible.

FORMAT
Saturday - Defender Style Best Ball - This is a contest
where you count your team’s net best ball score on each
hole and combine it with the A player’s net score on the
EVEN holes and B player’s score on the ODD holes.

Sunday - Triple Net Best Ball - (Low net plus total net
strokes) Each player will play their own ball all the
way to the hole and record their own gross and net
scores. The two net scores will be added together and
the lowest net will be added again on all even holes.
In other words, the low net score counts twice and the
high net score counts once. On all odd holes count the
total team net.

TEES:
The field will be cut into two flights using 90%
handicap.

1st flight will play the black tees.
2nd flight will play the blue tees.
(based on participation)

Maximum number of strokes per hole is net 10.

FORMAT
Championship and 1st flight will begin on August 23.
54 hole stroke play. Championship players play from
the black tees. 1st flight players play from the combo
tees. Putt out all putts, and count all strokes.

Flights 2-4 will begin on August 24 following the
championship flight August 25 @ 7:00 am. Flights 2-3
will play from the blue tees and the 4th flight plays
from the silver tees. Count all strokes, do not adjust.
Maximum strokes per hole are net 10.

Low Gross and Low Net will be paid out each day with
only one winner getting the higher amount. Total gross
will be paid out for 54 hole totals in the Championship
and 1st flight. Total net will be paid out for 36 hole
totals in flights 2-4.

PAIRINGS: All three rounds of the Club Championship
will be paired by entry number (on the first day) and
score/finish position on the last two days (champ flight)
last day (other flights). There will be no fivesomes
allowed unless approved by the tournament committee.

Flight winners and the top four players in the
championship flight will qualify for the Maxwell Cup.

FORMAT

Two-man “Triple Play”. Two man teams (partners
handicaps must be within 12 strokes of each other)
playing 9 holes of best ball, 9 holes of scramble and

9 holes of scotch. Holes 1-9 will play one best ball
using 90% of both players handicaps. Holes 10-18 will
play a scramble using 25% of both players handicaps
subtracted from the total of their scramble score. The
third 9 holes the team will play a pure scotch using 50%
of both players handicaps and deducting strokes where

they fall on those holes.
The two man teams will be flighted based on total
handicap of the two players. There will be four ways
to win! Best ball score, scramble score and scotch score
in each flight as well as a 27-hole total of the two man

teams in each flight.
All players will use the blue

tees for this event.

local rules...Professionals play from the combo tees.
Members play from the blue

Maximum of 45 individual handicap. Handicaps posted
at the time of original drawing, June 1, can NEVER go
up, however, they may go down!! Handicaps cannot
change during a match.
All scores will be posted as tournament scores.
You must record your score, the score that you would
have most likely made on any given hole.
