Absolut

Type Vodka

Producer Pernod Ricard

Ingredients Wheat and Water

Country Sweden

Dried Fruits Nuts Cereal

Absolut was established in 1879 by Lars Olsson Smith and is produced in Åhus, Sweden.
Smith introduced fractional distillation which produces liquor without fusel alcohol in
Sweden in 1877, under the name "Tiodubbelt Renadt Brännvin". Brännvin literally means
"burn-wine" and is analogous to the German "Branntwein". The term is also used in
Norwegian, Danish, Faroese and Icelandic. The name was changed to "Absolut Rent
Brännvin" by Smith to market his much improved product.

Absolut Vodka was introduced to the global market in 1979. Since its launch, Absolut
has grown from 90,000 liters to 96.6 million liters in 2008. It has become the largest
international spirit and is available in 126 countries.[citation needed] The vodka is made
from winter wheat. Approximately 80,000 metric tons of wheat are used annually to
produce Absolut Vodka. Over one kilogram of grain is used in every one-liter bottle.

Absolut Vodka is made exclusively from natural ingredients, and unlike other vodkas, it
doesn’t contain any added sugar. In fact Absolut is as pure as vodka can be. Still, that
purity has a certain taste: Rich, full-bodied and complex, yet smooth and mellow with a
distinct character of grain, followed by a hint of dried fruit.

Absolut Elyx is manually distilled in a 1921 copper rectification still known as Column 51,
made entirely of copper. It is operated be a selected few who inherited their
knowledge and expertise from past generations of spirit and vodka makers.

The silky textured Absolut Elyx is a result of the single estate wheat, the manual
operation and the old copper catalyzation process. The copper naturally catalyzes
trace compounds in the spirit, purifying the vodka and adding a highly prized silky
texture and taste.

Cinchona

Country Italy

Gentian Rhubarb Cinchona

Aperol is an Italian aperitif originally produced by the Barbieri company, based in

Padua. Aperol is now produced by the Campari company. While Aperol was originally

created in 1919, it did not become successful until after World War II. Its ingredients are,

among others, bitter orange, gentian, rhubarb, and cinchona.

Aperol sprang forth in 1919 and with the same recipe blending orange, rhubarb, and
other herbs. From then until today the popularity of Aperol has grown continuously,
thanks to its fresh and versatile taste and its capacity to be mixed with so many other
drinks. Purchased in the ‘90s by Barbero 1891, Aperol then entered Gruppo Campari's
portfolio, reaching new records of popularity and diffusion.

The neon orange color is very pretty and ideally pure. Right out of the box the orange,
tangerine, rhubarb aroma seduces the olfactory sense. More air contact stimulates the
herbal, botanical aspects as the bouquet turns garden fresh, viny, grassy, and citrusy.
This is a sophisticated and gently aroma that I could sniff all day long.

acquired the US distribution rights and delivered the vodka state side.

LVMH and was subsequently acquired after a three year process. Belvedere Vodka is
now sold in 100 countries with a portfolio.

Ciroc is a brand of eau-de-vie, considered by some sources to be and marketed as a
vodka, produced and distributed by the drinks company Diageo.

Diageo claims that Ciroc is distinguished from other vodkas by the fact that they derive
it from grapes, rather than using corn, sorghum, rye, wheat, or potatoes. Since they
distill the product at 96% and do not age it, it fulfills the qualities of a vodka.

The production method used for Ciroc vodka are "snap frost" grapes; Mauzac Blanc
from the Gaillac region of France, and Ugni Blanc from the Cognac region. The juice
extracted from these grapes is fermented.

Ciroc Ultra-Premium Vodka is distilled exclusively from fine French grapes for an
exquisitely smooth, fresh vodka experience. The essence of Ciroc Vodka comes from
top quality grapes which are distilled a fifth time at the historic Distillerie de Chevance-

Hendrick's

Type Gin

Producer William Grant & Sons

Ingredients Grain and Botanicals

Country Scotland

Region Girvan

Juniper Rose Cucumber

Hendrick's Gin is a brand of gin produced by William Grant & Sons in Girvan, Scotland,
and launched in 1999. In addition to the traditional juniper infusion, Hendrick's uses
Bulgarian rose and cucumber to add flavour. Hendrick's gin is bottled in a dark blue
apothecary-style bottle.

Hendrick's uses a blend of spirits produced from a Carter-Head Still (constructed in
1948), of which there are only a small number in the world, and a small pot still, originally
built in 1860 by Bennett, Sons & Shears. Both have been restored to working order after
being bought at auction in 1960s by current William Grant Life President, Charles
Gordon. The two stills produce strikingly different styles of gin due to their different
construction and methods of distillation.

The final Hendrick's gin is a blend of these two spirits with an addition of cucumber
essence and rose petal essence. Sophisticated marketing focuses on a “Most Unusual”
theme to highlight the brand’s quirky nature. But, Hendrick’s is no gimmick and
cucumber and rose petals do bring something new to the gin taste spectrum
enhancing the classic juniper and citrus flavours with fresh, floral, slightly aromatic notes
and a silky smooth texture.

Type Jack Daniels Old No.7
Tennessee Whiskey

Producer Jack Daniel Distillery

Ingredients Corn, Barley, Water, Malt

Country USA

Region Lynchburg, Tennessee

Vanilla Oak Caramel

Jack Daniel's is a brand of sour mash Tennessee whiskey that is the highest selling
American whiskey in the world. It is produced in Lynchburg, Tennessee, by the Jack
Daniel Distillery, which has been owned by the Brown-Forman Corporation since 1956.
Despite being the location of a major operational distillery, Jack Daniel's home county
of Moore is a dry county, so the product is not available for consumption at stores or
restaurants within the county.

According to Daniel's biographer, the origin of the "Old No. 7" brand name was the
number assigned to Daniel's distillery for government registration. He was forced to
change the registration number when the federal government redrew the district and
he became Number 16 in district 5 instead of No. 7 in district 4. However, he continued
to use his original number as a brand name, since his brand reputation had already
been established.

Jack Daniel’s Black Label also known as Old No 7 or more commonly as JD is one of the
best selling whiskies in the world. Made in the Tennessee Sour Mash Style, it is very similar
to bourbon with the additional step of dripping the fresh make spirit through a vat of
sugar maple charcoal to ‘mellow’ the whiskey before going into barrel.

Although the product generally meets the regulatory criteria for classification as a
straight bourbon, the company disavows this classification and markets it simply as
Tennessee whiskey rather than as Tennessee bourbon. Packaged in distinctive square
bottles, a total of 11 million cases of the flagship "Black Label" product were sold in the
company's fiscal year ended April 30, 2013.

A classy version of Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey. While the regular Jack Daniel's is
charcoal-mellowed before it goes in the barrel, Gentleman Jack is treated to a second
charcoal-mellowing afterwards too, proving that gentlemen are pretty mellow chaps.

For Master Distiller Jeff Arnett, picking out the perfect barrel for Single Barrel whiskey is a
very selective process. Each barrel is hand-selected for its one-of-a-kind flavor, robust
taste, and notes of toasted oak, vanilla, and caramel.

Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Producer Diageo

Ingredients Barley, Water, Yeast

Country Scotland

Region Islay

Lemon Apple Cocoa

Lagavulin is produced by United Distillers & Vintners, which in turn is owned by Diageo
plc. It is marketed under their Classic Malts brand. The name of Lagavulin is an
anglicization of the Gaelic lag a'mhuilin, meaning "hollow by the mill".

The distillery of Lagavulin officially dates from 1816, when John Jonston and Archibald
Campbell constructed two distilleries on the site. One of them became Lagavulin,
taking over the other-which one is not exactly known. Records show illicit distillation in at
least ten illegal distilleries on the site as far back as 1742.

In the 19th century, several legal battles ensued with their neighbour Laphroaig,
brought about after the distiller at Lagavulin, Sir Peter Mackie, leased the Laphroaig
distillery. It is said that Mackie attempted to copy Laphroaig's style. Since the water and
peat at Lagavulin's premises was different from that at Laphroaig's, the result was
different. The Lagavulin distillery is located in the village of the same name.

Lagavulin 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch has been aged for 12 years, which is around
the average age for Scotch whiskies. This refers to the age of the youngest component
of the whiskey, so there may be a part of the blend that is much older.

Scotland spreading Christianity during the eighth century.

Monkey 47

Type Gin

Producer Pernod Richard

Ingredients Grain and Botanicals

Country Germany,Black Forest

Juniper Lavender Cranberry

The story of Monkey 47 begins in the 1940s. In July 1945, to be precise! Wing
Commander Montgomery “Monty” Collins of theRoyal Air Force was posted to the
British sector of divided Berlin. Having arrived in Berlin after the end of the war and
taken up his post in the administration of the British sector, Commander Collins was
profoundly affected by the extent of the destruction of the capital and so resolved to
support the reconstruction of Germany in his free time. Henceforth he became
devoted to the rebuilding of the Berlin Zoo, through which he came to sponsor an egret
monkey by the name of Max.

Montgomery Collins left the Royal Air Force in 1951. Driven by his desire to learn the art
of watch making, Collins moved to the Northern Black Forest region. Unfortunately he
showed little talent in the field of horology, so instead opened a country guesthouse,
naming it “The Wild Monkey” in honour of Max.

The gin, which is made using 47 handpicked botanicals, has gained a global following
since its launch in 2011

Monkey 47 is distilled by Christoph Keller for Alexander Stein of Black Forest Distillers.
Monkey 47 is very much a novelty within the Gin Universe, unique because of its low
production and a real difference in style and taste.

Monkey 47 Schwarzwald Gin is obtained by double distillation of grain and a third
distillation with botanicals, aged in clay pots. Made with 47 botanicals and bottled at
47%, they also use a secret weapon typical to the Black Forest in the mix - cranberries.

Type Monkey Shoulder
Blended Malt Scotch Whisky

Producer William Grant & Sons

Ingredients Barley, Water, Yeast

Country Scotland,Dufftown

Oak Honey Vanilla Orange

The long process of turning barley by hand inevitably took its toll on Scotland’s malt
men. After long shifts of constant manual flipping they were susceptible to a condition
which caused one arm to hang down just a little; they called this monkey shoulder.
While the unfortunate side effect is now an ailment of the past thanks to the
modernisation of production techniques and widespread dissolution of distillery
maltings, Monkey Shoulder is very much in the here and now in the form of a William
Grant-owned blended malt.Monkey Shoulder’s history begins with a certain William
Grant who put his entire life savings of £755 into the construction of Glenfiddich distillery
in 1886. Five years later Balvenie was opened on the same site as Glenfiddich, and
almost a century later they were joined by Kininvie in 1990.As Scotch whisky began an
upward trend in the early 2000s, William Grant & Sons combined malt whisky from the
three distilleries to create a new blended malt – one of very few on the market at the
time. Launched in 2005, Monkey Shoulder filled a gap in the category for a fun-yet-
premium brand that resonated with both consumers and bartenders alike. In recent
years the group has run on-trade cocktail competition the Ultimate Bartender
Challenge, which encourages entrants to dream up wacky and innovative bar
projects. In 2012 the brand launched in the United States but due to its unforeseen rapid
popularity in that market, Monkey Shoulder fell into short supply for much of 2014.

It’s no secret that the three malt components that form Monkey Shoulder’s smooth,
malty and fruity character are derived from William Grant’s three Speyside distilleries:
Balvenie, Glenfiddich and Kininvie. The malts, which are matured in first-fill ex-Bourbon
casks, are vatted together in small batches for up to six months before bottling at 40%
abv.

The distillery was built in 1794 by the brothers John and Hugh Stevenson and operated
by them until 1866, when it was bought by Peter Curnstie. It was then acquired by
Walter Higgin in 1883 and rebuilt. In 1898, Alexander Edward, who also owned Aultmore
Distillery, bought out Higgin.

In its first year of operation, it suffered major losses when a major blending company,
Pattison's of Leith, went under. In 1923, Oban was sold to Dewars and joined Distillers
Company with that company in 1925. It fell silent from 1931 until 1937 and again from
1969 to 1972 when a new still house was built. In 1989 a new visitors' centre was installed.

The Oban 14 year old is bottled at 43% ABV and with it's aromas of peat (a whiff of
smoke), it has sweet, scented notes of burnt heather, carried through to the slighly oaky
and fruity taste, with a slightly creamy finish.

The Saint Maarten's Spirit Company, based in 7 Leguas Leguas distillery in Mexico was
the first to ever come up with Patron. Paul Mitchell and John Paul Dejoria then took
over the patron industry and started calling it Patron Tequila.

In 2000, Ed Brown took over as CEO, and began to distance the Patrón brand from the
reputation of tequila in the US as a bad-tasting spirit and what people drank for
extremely quick intoxication. Following the advertising strategy of Grey Goose, Patrón
presented its tequila as "premium" and signalled "taste and sophistication" through
individually-numbered glass bottles. The target audience is mostly vodka drinkers in
nightclubs and trendy bars.
