A LETTER FROM THE 2016 CHAIRMAN JOHN HEIDTKE

If you are like most Americans, cancer has deeply touched
your life or the life of someone you know. As the honorary
inaugural chairman of the Southwest Golf Invitational, this
has provided me the opportunity to honor my wife Sandy,
who was taken at far too a young age from melanoma, as
well as raise funds for research to help find a cure for this
deadly disease. Please remember by supporting this event
and the American Cancer Society, you are accomplishing
more than simply financing our mission. You are making
it possible to keep moving toward a world where cancer
does not take our loved ones before their time. This is an
initiative close to my heart as it was important for Sandy
to continue to raise awareness of this disease as part of
her legacy, especially early detection, as she saw firsthand
the number of people, including those in their 20s and
30s, who were fighting this disease with her throughout
her treatment. With your help, we have an opportunity to
honor her legacy and have her spirit to continue to shine,
impact others and eventually find a cure.
