Thank You ADVERTISEMENT
For Making
Children’s Health Dear Congress,
a National To say thank you for meeting with our families during the annual Speak Now for Kids
Bipartisan Priority! Family Advocacy Day in Washington, D.C., June 26-27, 2018, we are doing something
special this year.
Paid for by the Children’s Hospital Association The photos featured here are just a sample of over 150 meetings that took place as part
of this bipartisan event. As we continue our efforts to recognize all Members working to
prioritize children’s health, please follow @SpeakNowforKids and watch for more pictures
and videos in the months ahead.
As a group, the patients you met with see more than 250 specialists and health care
professionals, and more than half rely on Medicaid for the care they need. Medicaid
is an essential health care program for children, especially those with serious chronic
medical conditions.
While on Capitol Hill, patients asked you to support the pediatric workforce by
reauthorizing and fully funding Children’s Hospitals Graduate Medical Education (CHGME),
safeguarding Medicaid for children, and increasing access to care for children with the
most complex medical conditions in Medicaid by passing the bipartisan Advancing Care
for Exceptional Kids (ACE Kids) Act this year.
Your support of these critical programs gives children in communities large and small
a chance to grow up happy and as healthy as possible.
Thank you for taking the time to meet with our patient families and children’s hospitals.
We look forward to continuing our work together to make children’s health a national
bipartisan priority.
Warm regards,

Mark Wietecha, President and CEO
Children’s Hospital Association
