As a future educator, I have my own principle when
I start being a teacher which is :
I will provide my students with resources
material as long as I can in order to help them
improve
I also will make sure that I maintain a good
relationship with my students in order to ensure
they feel comfortable with me thus when they
have any problem they will not feels shy to
share their problems with me
Ensure the learning environment is in a positive
environment and create an active learning
environment

A C K N O W L E D G E M E N T
First of all, I would like to say thank you to
my beloved lecturers, Madam Nirmala and
Miss Saadia for their invaluable guidance
throughout my journey in completing this
subject. I am very fortunate to have a
lecturer that never tires in making sure
their students understand the objectives of
the subject.
I also would like to thank my fellow friends
and groupmate for their cooperation
throughout the class.

First and foremost, there are many things
that I've learned from this subject. The first
thing is, I've learned the importance of
having a good lesson plan and making sure
the activity that I carried out as a teacher
should be a suitable activity for my
student's level.
Moreover, from this subject, I've learned
the importance of managing time very well.
Good time management is very important
as it will define whether we carry out our
lesson successfully or not.

SET INDUCTION (WEEK 2 / 16TH JULY 2021
REFLECTION
The first microteaching session was a set
induction stage. I chose Year 4 Module 8 (Amazing
Animal) as my topic. During the stage, I start my
class by greeting the students and asking them to
recite prayers before starting our lesson. After
that, in order to make students participate in the
class, I ask them questions like what is their
favourite animal and the reason they like them.
Then, I explain the objectives for the lesson of
the day. Lastly, to test student's knowledge, I
showed them images of animals and asked them
to identify them.

SET INDUCTION (WEEK 2 / 16TH JULY 2021
FEEDBACKS
Set induction follows the criteria
Good intonation
Interactive
Interesting teaching aid
Lack of gestures
WAYS TO IMPROVE
I should use gestures more as it will help students
understand the lesson more. Research has shown
that using gestures is a great idea. They can add a
layer of meaning and expression, show your
commitment to getting the message across, and
make it easier for your audience to follow along.

STIMULUS VARIATION (WEEK 3 / 22TH JULY 2021)
REFLECTION
The next session is for the stimulus variation
stage. I start the lesson by showing the images
of animals but with their characteristics. To
make sure students are focused and
participate in the lesson, I asked them 1 by 1 to
read all the characteristics from the slides.
After they read, I gave them a quiz using
menti.com. The quiz is a question based on the
simple text they read about the animals before.

STIMULUS VARIATION (WEEK 3 / 22TH JULY 2021)
FEEDBACKS
Good activity for students
Very good interaction
Interactive
Interesting teaching aid
Use too much time in reading / should make it
short so that able to know the results of the quiz
WAYS TO IMPROVE
I should make the reading session short by
asking 3 or 4 people to read instead of asking
all students to read. Other than that, I think I
should apply stimulus variation more as it
proved that it helps me when teaching.

QUESTIONING TECHNIQUES (WEEK 4 / 30TH JULY
2021)
REFLECTION
For questioning techniques, it was during week
4. The activity that I conducted during this
stage is basically, students just need to read a
passage about Kinah's favourite animal and
answer the questions based on the passage.
The question is a question that is suitable for
intermediate students. Students need to write
the answer on a padlet that I share the link
after they are done reading the passage.

QUESTIONING TECHNNIQUES (WEEK 4 / 30TH JULY
2021)
FEEDBACKS
Distribute the questions very well among
students
No need to show the text again for students / ask
their friends whether they can help
Interactive and good interaction with students
WAYS TO IMPROVE
From Miss Saadia feedbacks, I should not show
the text again for my students if they cannot
answer the questions. Instead she suggested
that it is more better to ask other students
whether they can help their friend or not.

REINFORCEMENT STRATEGIES AND TEACHING AID
( WEEK 5 / 6TH AUGUST 2021)
REFLECTION
During week 5, we are required to do
reinforcement strategies and teaching aid for
microteaching sessions. Following last week's
activity ( Questioning Techniques ) where
students need to read a passage about Kinah's
favourite animal then answer the question,
this week's lesson students are required to
write about their favourite animal and the
reason why they like that animal. Students
need to write their answers on a padlet that I
prepared.

REINFORCEMENT STRATEGIES AND TEACHING AID
( WEEK 5 / 6TH AUGUST 2021)
FEEDBACKS
Should be more strict when students are out of
control
Interactive / fun
Good activity to have with students
WAYS TO IMPROVE
From Miss Saadia feedbacks, I should become
more strict when my students become
uncontrollable to ensure the learning process
is going back into the track.

CLOSURE ( WEEK 6 / 12TH AUGUST 2021 )
REFLECTION
For closure, the activity that I conducted is very
simple. Instead of me summarizing the whole
lesson, I asked students to summarize the
lesson from their point of view. I also asked
some questions such as what is their favourite
activity during the lesson.

CLOSURE ( WEEK 6 / 12TH AUGUST 2021 )
FEEDBACKS
Very good closure
Simple and good
Time is managed well
WAYS TO IMPROVE
I think I should ask more students to
summarize the lesson to make sure they don't
feel left out. Other than that, in the future, I
will make sure my students participate
actively in giving their opinion before the
lesson ends.

ESL BLOG
PRESENTATION
( WEEK 6 / 9TH AUGUST 2021 )
REFLECTION
For Project 2, we are required to create a blog to
help students to learn English easier. I and my
partner Octavia decided to choose Year 4 Module 7
(Helping Out) for our blog. We use wix.com in order
to create our blog. There are 4 skills and each skill
need 2 activity. Through discussion between me and
my partner, I took listening and reading skills
meanwhile she took speaking and writing skills. For
listening skills, the activity that I prepared is,
students need to watch a video (two different
videos - each for each activity). Activity one
required students to answer questions based after
they watch the video provided.
25
ESL BLOG
PRESENTATION
( WEEK 6 / 9TH AUGUST 2021 )
Meanwhile, for activity 2, students are required
to listen and watch a song video and rearrange
the lyrics while listening to the song.
Meanwhile for the reading skills activity, both
activities I provided text and activity 1 required
students to read and answer the questions. While
activity 2, students need to identify whether the
statements given are true or false. It is a very
good experience for me, as it will help me in the
future to create good learning materials for my
students in the future.

ESL BLOG
PRESENTATION
( WEEK 6 / 9TH AUGUST 2021 )
FEEDBACKS
Good as we put the advantages of the website on
the homepage
Colourful/suitable for Year 4
Good activities
Should make the intro for each activity part not
to bright when the activity page is plain
WAYS TO IMPROVE
Based on the feedbacks that Madam Nirmala
gave, I think we should make the pages for the
activity too plain while the intro is too
colourful. There should be a balance between
each page to make it neater

MOCKTEACHING
( WEEK 7 / 16TH AUGUST 2021 ))
REFLECTION
For Mock Teaching, each of us was assigned
with a different year and different skills to
focus on. As for me, I was assigned to do
Year 3 and the skills are reading skills. The
stages that we are going to focus on are the
Set Induction, Presentation, and Closure
stage and we need to finish it within 15
minutes. I choose Welcome Our World which
is the first unit in the Year 3 textbook. The
activity that I conducted for each stage is
very simple and light as it was the first topic.
29
MOCKTEACHING
( WEEK 7 / 16TH AUGUST 2021 ))
During set induction, I just greet the
students, ask them how they are feeling and
explain to them the objectives for the lesson
of the day. While for the presentation stage, I
showed my students a short text about Chris
and his friend’s favourite thing to do. Next for
closure, I asked my students to summarize
the whole lesson to see what they have
learned. The extension task that I gave them
is a writing task where they need to write
about their favourite thing to do and also
their friends just like Chris.

MOCKTEACHING
( WEEK 7 / 16TH AUGUST 2021 ))
FEEDBACKS
Delivery and interaction was good
Learning Objectives is good
Set induction was too brief
Avoid using "you guys" / language proficiency
have slightly error
WAYS TO IMPROVE
Based on the feedbacks that Madam Nirmala
gave, I think I should make my set induction
more interesting rather than making it too
brief. Other than that, I should practice and
learn to improve my proficiency.

REFLECTION
REFLECTION
By completing this portfolio, I managed to
identify and analyze my strengths and
weaknesses when teaching. I was also able
to reflect on myself by doing all the
reflection as I was listing all the strengths
and weaknesses from the feedback that
Madam Nirmala and Miss Saadia gave and
also my classmates. This portfolio is a
summarization of my journey on this
subject. It was enjoyable creating this
portfolio as I was able to design it the way I
want following my own preferences.
