ADDING A LITTLE

SPARKLE

TO YOUR BIG DAY

Planning your wedding day can be a huge challenge!

You want the perfect venue, the Pinterest-inspired theme, the
stunning decor and memories that will last a lifetime.

If you're currently planning for your special day, our Mere
Wedding Fayre is the perfect place to
gather inspiration!

Whether you're just starting out, or have been dreaming of
your wedding for years, it's always good to ask the experts for

a little guidance.

So, we asked Cheshire's finest wedding suppliers their top tips
for ensuring your special day goes smoothly...

PICTURE PERFECT

Gavin Tomkins, of Gavin Tomkins Photography suggests adopting the
three 'P's!
Price, because everyone has a budget.
Pictures, because you of course need to like the images they
produce. And…
Personality, because your photographer will be with you for a long time
on your special day... You need to be sure you'll get on with them!

Lynzi and Ant from Icon Studio recommend going with your instinct
when it comes to picking the perfect photographer to capture your
special memories. They say you'll meet many photographers along the
way, so take the time to see which feels right.

Lester Goddard, owner of Clear Image Productions says a photograph
captures a moment... but a wedding video captures the entire day!

Alison Bailey of Bailey Photography says: “Don’t cut corners when it
comes to finding professionals that will make your day run seamlessly!”

ARRIVING IN STYLE

Tony Horgan, of Horgans Cars advises booking your transport early to
avoid disappointment.
As soon as you have your venue, start thinking about how you'll arrive
there in style!

Armaan of People To Places advises you view your wedding car before
making a booking.
"You want to make sure you get what you've paid for."

If you’re getting married abroad, Nicola from All The Little Details
suggests adding all of the information that your guests will need, to your
invitations, such as flight numbers, accommodation and maps.
“This will save you having to repeat the same stuff numerous times!”

UNIQUE TOUCHES

Rachel from Marie Antoinette Cakes says;

“A lot of couples want a larger cake than they actually need when it
comes to the number of portions they require. Adding one or two
polystyrene dummy tiers to your cake can create the look of a much
larger, more impressive display without having to pay for all that extra
cake that may have just ended up in the bin!”

When selecting a florist, ensure that you chose someone who specialises
in wedding florals. They can often provide additional services that you
would not get from a high Street florist shop, like interactive mood
boards, bridal mock ups and more personal consultations. “

Louise of Your Cherished Moments

Gaynor of GD Flowers says:

“Table centres are sometimes difficult decisions- low or high? A lot of
weddings are now selecting a combination of both with some tables
having posies and others having a tall vase with arrangement. This looks
very effective within any reception room.”

YOUR WEDDING DAY LOOK

"Remember your wedding day makeup style should be timeless so
leave any current craze's you want to try for your hens night!"

Lynette Page of Lynette Page Make Up.

“If you are having a veil make sure if your hairdresser is not attaching it
there is someone who knows exactly where it will go before your hair is
done.”

Johanna Steward of Johanna Steward Photography

Paula of Temple Spa:
“Every Bride wants to look fabulous on their Wedding Day, though it’s
important when considering any new skin care routine to embark on this
well in advance. You don’t want to risk irritated skin from a new product
that doesn’t agree with you!”

PLANNING TO PERFECTION

Our very own Wedding Planner, Karen says;
“Everyone will have their own opinion on what your day should include.
Don’t feel obliged to choose what everyone else wants. Go with your own
gut instincts and elements that are personal to you!”

Alex from The Bunbury Bag Company says that striving for perfection will
only add to your stress levels.
“Don't worry if things don't go quite according to plan - and enjoy having
everyone there supporting you both.”

“Approach your wedding planning like you approach your relationships. If
you fall in love with it, go with your instincts and book it! Don’t go searching
for second best!”

Craig, of Memories By Victoria Holden

Our Wedding Planner, Gaby suggests creating a moodboard of pictures
and samples you love. “This will help you see the bigger picture and ensure
you have every detail just the way you want it.”

LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL

“Use photo booth key rings instead of a favour at your wedding party.
Much more fun and something for everyone to treasure from your
wonderful day!” Lee of Happy Pigeon Photo Booths

'Don't stress too much about everything being "perfect" on your Wedding
Day. You'll have already worked hard to make sure your big day reflects
your personalities, so just let the day flow as it will and it'll be all the more
enjoyable for being relaxed' Martin O’Neill – Manchester Wedding
Photography

Tamsin from Tamsin’s Forever Aloe says;

“Make time to take everything in, appreciate and enjoy every single
second of your day, as it will go by so quickly!”

Mere Wedding Co-ordinator Kayleigh suggests:

“Not everyone loves dancing, so include some unique features to keep
your guests entertained. Vintage sweet carts, photo areas with props or
giant Jenga games will keep the fun flowing (and they make great photos
too!)”
