Houston Area Council’s Women Celebrating Women Luncheon
HOUSTON, Texas (June 22, 2019) Nicole Travis,
CYFEN’s 2019 Woman of the Year and Cathy Conrad,
CYFEN’s National Top Ten Candidate, were honored at
the Junior League of Houston at the Houston Area Council
of ABWA’s Women Celebrating Women Luncheon.
CYFEN members also attended to show thier support of
these women. Several members of the ABWA National
Board of Directors attended and presented awards and
certificates to Houston area Women of the Year and Top
Ten Candidates.

meeting on July 25, 2019 for the Federation of
Houston Professional Women was to honor this
year’s Women of Excellence. Congratulations to

Executive Director with the Harris County Flood Control.
He shared many of the statistics of the Harvey flood, and here are some of his
talk points:
-60% of homes that flooded in Hurricane Harvey, had never flooded before.
- Bond approved on 8/25/2018:
-237 projects across all watersheds.
-38 projects were added based on community input (400M+)
-ALL residents should have flood insurance.
