Untimely Demise of

Mr. Arjan K. Vekaria

By Vrndavan Parker

“He reasons ill who tells that
Vaishnavas die, When thou
art living still in sound.
The Vaishnavas die to live
and living try, To spread a
holy life around!”
This stanza written in 1871 by
Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur the great
Vaishnava Saint, scholar and prolific
author and Government Magistrate
of Puri, Orissa upliftingly expresses
the eternality of a loving life spent
in the service of others. Though the
pain of personal anguish and lost
potential is very real and though
the daily shared moments of af-
fection and acts of friendship and
camaraderie are no longer pos-
sible the positive impact remains.
For a life steeped in devotion and
spent on bettering the world and
the lives of others has implications
beyond the current moment of
time and space. Arjan Karsandas
Vekaria is such a personality and
his life reflects those qualities of
intrinsic and eternal value. Success-
ful at the material level he did not
merely convert that success into a
comfortable life for himself and his
family. Rather he saw his wealth,
prosperity and success as a means
to help others and to broadcast festival. Though our conversation Sri Krsna!” with such vigor and

has to be very precise in meaning;
it has to have only one meaning.
In a poetic language the word has
to be liquid, flowing, dynamic, not
static, allowing many meanings,
many possibilities. The word has
to be not precise at all; the more
imprecise it is the better, because
then it will be able to express all
