The Noncredit Division provides free adult educational courses and programs to help
you pursue your goals. Our programs are flexible and tailored to adult learners. We offer
job training courses that can help refine and develop your skills. The options for
changing and improving your life are endless!
Get Started
Classes in the Noncredit Division are open to everyone! You can apply online at
www.pasadena.edu/noncredit or in person at our Admissions & Records Office.
If you are an international student or under the age of 18, you must apply in person.
1. Apply to PCC Noncredit Division
Complete the Noncredit Division Application online at www.pasadena.edu/noncredit,
(See page 14) or at the Admissions & Records Office in Room 100.
2. Take Your Placement Tests*
Placement tests are used to get you into the right class and are needed before enrolling
in the following courses and programs:
• Noncredit English as a Second Language (ESL),
• General Educational Development (GED) or
• Adult High School Diploma program
3. Complete Your Orientation*
For some of our programs, you may need to attend an orientation to familiarize yourself
with our facilities and policies. To see if an orientation is required for your specific
program, please contact the Counseling Office in Room 105 at the Foothill Campus or at
(626) 585-3006.
4. Meet with a Counselor*
After you’ve completed your placement tests and orientation, a counselor will meet with
you to help you plan your class schedule and make sure you are placed in the correct
courses.
5. Register for Your Classes
During your meeting with a counselor, you will receive a registration card. Take this card
and a valid ID to the Admissions & Records office to complete your enrollment.

General Information
Pasadena Area Consortium
Pasadena City College, Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD), Arcadia Unified School
District, and Temple City Unified School District have entered into the Regional Pasadena
Area Consortium (PAC) to expand adult education programs to a greater number of adult
learners.
Grant funds to the regional consortium have helped implement a plan to better serve
adults with new, enhanced programs and services addressing the following five key
program areas:
1. Elementary and secondary basic skills, including classes required for high school
diploma or high school equivalency certificate.
2. Classes and courses for immigrants eligible for education services in citizenship and
English as a Second Language, and workforce preparation classes in basic skills.
3. Education programs for adults with disabilities.
4. Short-term career technical education (CTE) programs with high employment potential.
5. Programs for apprentices.
The PAC’s vision is to provide academic and workforce skills training and teaching
excellence for all Adult Basic Education (ABE), Adult Secondary Education (ASE), and
English as Second Language (ESL) learners in a supportive community environment. The
goal is to promote higher educational pathways or workforce preparation opportunities
through noncredit, credit academic or CTE programs.
Our Programs
Students who successfully complete the courses within our certificate programs will
receive either a Certificate of Completion or a Certificate of Competency. We also offer
other courses in addition to our certificate programs.

How to Apply Online
New students can register online at www.pasadena.edu/noncredit or in person at
The Noncredit Division Located at the Foothill Campus. If a student is returning
after an absence of more than one semester, he or she must apply again.
To Apply Online, Follow These Steps:
1 Visit www.pasadena.edu/noncredit
and click on “Apply Now”
2 Go to Step 1 and click on “Apply Now”
3 Create a temporary LancerPoint Login ID and a PIN,
(this will only be used for application process)
then click “First time user account creation”
4 Select application type from menu
5 Select semester term and begin application process
* You will need to provide information on previous education during
this step.
* You must provide a valid email address to receive confirmation.
6 Once you have completed the application checklist and agree to
the terms of admission, your application will be submitted
7 You will receive an email within 2-3 business days with your new
LancerPoint Username, ID Number, and instructions for activating
your account
You must activate your LancerPoint account to register for classes
* Please Note: You may or may not need to attend orientation,
and or complete placement/assessment tests before registering for
some classes.

How to Register Online
To Register for Classes Online, Follow These Steps:
1 Please refer to the email “PCC: Registration” that you received
after applying
2 Go to LancerPoint to Login and activate your account
(See instructions on email)
3 Login to LancerPoint with your new password
4 Click on the “CEC Classes and Academics” tab
5 Under Select Classes click “Schedule of Classes”
6 To view all Noncredit classes: Choose a Term (i.e. Fall, Spring, etc..)
and click “Select Term.” In Course Level: choose “Non-Credit” and click
“Search” at the bottom of the page
-OR-
To search for a specific subject/course: Choose a Term (i.e. Fall, Spring,
etc..) and click “Select Term.” In Subject: Select your specific
NONCREDIT subject area from the list (i.e. Business Noncredit, Paralegal
Noncredit, etc..). Click “Search” at the bottom of the page
7 Find the class(es) you want to register for. Write down the CRN (Course
Reference Number).
8 Return to your “CEC Classes & Academics” tab in LancerPoint, go to
Register for Classes, click “Add/Drop Classes.” Select a Term and click
“Submit”
9 Under Add Classes Worksheet (at the bottom of the page), enter CRNs
for all the classes you want to register for. Click “Submit Changes”
10 If your registration was accepted, under Current Schedule, you will see
your class information and the date you enrolled
