Welcome

MISSIONS IN 4-DIMENSIONS

Simple is no longer simple. Complexity is even more complex. Every-
thing is changing. Everything is connected.

All of our lives are framed by intersection of theses 4-Dimensions of
Language, Class, Culture and Ethnicity (4-D). It is in the collision of
these dimensions that are both beautiful and broken that missions
happens. The example of Christ in the 1st century world is critical for
his followers in 21st century. 1st century Christ speaks with power and
relevance to every individual and The Moody Bible Institute continues
in its commitment to proclaim the message of a 1st century Messiah
across the cultures, languages and generations. While living in 4-D is
challenging and complicated, the call to follow the example of Christ
is clear.

This year’s mission conference theme is Missions in 4-Dimensions-
language, class, culture and ethnicity. The goal is to See Christ and
See Others. Missions requires seeing Christ in 4-D, seeing ourselves in
4-D and seeing others in 4-D. This will ultimately help us to see Christ
in others. Christ is the culmination of all of these dimensions of life
and neither poverty nor language nor class or culture can resist this
message

We are excited that Pastor Charlie Dates of Progressive Baptist Church
will kick off mission’s conference on Tuesday night. Brian Fikkert
(Author of When Helping Hurts) will speak on Wednesday morning.
A missionary in the Muslim world will speak on Wednesday evening
and Sarah Shin (author of Beyond Colorblind) will speak on Thursday
morning. EthneFest returns again on Thursday night with a celebra-
tion of cultures from around the world. We close out Missions Confer-
ence with Pastor David Choi of Church of the Beloved on Friday morn-
ing.

Over 150 representatives from almost 70 agencies will join the Moody
Bible Institute for this year’s conference. You will want to swing by
ASC 2 Fellowship Hall to meet missionaries, hear about the organiza-
tions, and perhaps meet your future teammates. Make sure you check
out the website for the most up to date information. Through our web-
site, you can keep track of what is going on and for the seminars you
will not want to miss, the global prayer groups and special activities/
events.

Please pray that God will use the speakers, music, spoken word, sem-
inars, videos, conversations to stir within students a heart for the na-
tions. Pray for courage, boldness and action.

Welcome to Missions Conference! Clive Craigen
