3.4 SWOT

• Build a house that facing to the beach to enjoy and
appreciate the view.

• Provides wide openings to appreciate the view and
also can bring natural light into the house.

• Provide natural elements like trees or vines that will
grow up a trellis and block the view are a great
option to provide privacy. In addition, many trees
and plants have the secondary benefit of blocking
noise.

• Design a building using a material that absorbs less
heat such as using light colors as opposed to using
dark color.

• Maintain some of the existing trees on the site to
maintain the greenery on the site. In addition, it can
dim the building from sunlight.

• The building can be designed with a wide opening
and plenty to enjoy the fresh natural air into the
building.

• Using durable and rusty materials such as using a lot
of timber, concrete or stainless materials and so on.

STRENGTH

• Opposite to the beach.
• Nice view from the proposed site.
• Strategic area because in terms of its location which

is in the area of tourist attractions and easy to see or
find. Exits and entrances are easily accessible to the
proposed site.

WEAKNESS

• The proposed site is near to the public area and no
privacy for the owner.

• The weather was too hot because the site was right
next to the seafront.

• The proposed site is on a hill and the road to the
proposed site is quite sloping and uneven.

OPPORTUNITIES

• The proposed site has an existing tree such as palm
tree, tanjung tree, mengkudu tree, evergreen shrubs
and river tamarud tree.

• The proposed site can enjoy the fresh air, espicially
air from the west which is facing the beach.

THREATS

• Material: The site is exposed to strong winds with
hot and humid temperatures throughout the year
can cause some materials to rust or not.
