2 About HCA Healthcare
Letter from Jim Brown, CEO
I would like to acknowledge some of the success we enjoyed in 2021. While overburdened by COVID, it may have been difficult
to appreciate or enjoy these milestones as they occurred. We enter 2022 with significant momentum in enhancing our overall
quality of care. In addition to our substantial improvement in HCA’s clinical benchmarking to a company-wide rank of 60 of 185
hospitals, we impacted the following improvements.
10% improvement in Sepsis bundle compliance
13% improvement in time to TPA administration for Stroke patients presenting to the ED
17% reduction in Inpatient Fall Rate
28% reduction in patient mortality
50% reduction in C. Diff Surgical Infection Rate
75% reduction in MRSA Surgical Infection Rate
Despite the disruption brought about by COVID, we also successfully grew our hospital and a number of its programs.
5% admission growth
25% growth in ED visits
Grew inpatient surgeries by 1%, outpatient surgeries by 10%, and surgical minutes by 6%
27% growth in Cardiovascular, Thoracic, and Vascular Surgery compared to 2019
10% year-over-year growth in Cath lab procedures
New Neurosurgical program exceeded 100 cases
11% growth in cancer cases year-over-year
We’ve accomplished a great deal over the past year. Congratulations on these results! I look forward too many more great things to come in 2022.

CONGRATULATIONS
Yvette will celebrate her three-year anniversary here at HCA N. Cypress
on February 5th. Yvette started at North Cypress as a StarRN on MS2 and
after only six months, her hard work paid off and she was promoted to a
CNC role. Now, Yvette is assuming the role of MS2 Manager. Although
she has always worked on MS2, on the 7 p.m. - 7 a.m. shift, Yvette has
been flexible and willing to support her team by taking on additional
shifts, even on days, to ensure patients are well taken care of.
When Yvette isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her husband of
sixteen years. Combined, they share three children, daughter, Jade, and
sons, Richard and Devin, all in their twenties. Yvette adores spoiling her
Yorkie, Andy. On her weekends away from the hospital, she enjoys
movies, traveling, and loves being at the Bingo Hall, sometimes joined by
her fellow coworkers.
Please join me in congratulating Yvette and wishing her the very best as she moves into
this exciting new role!
