The new station.
The mounds of soil beyond the forecourt cover the trackbed of the old line.
158718 on the 12:46 Inverness to Aberdeen.
158716 on the 12:00 Aberdeen to Inverness
Both lines are reversible and almost all trains use platform 1, which is adjacent to the station
building and road access. The only potential user of platform 2 is the 07:09 Inverness to Aberdeen.
Bridge 294/000A, at the west end of the station, carrying Benromach Way.
The view towards Nairn. The trackless, old formation can be seen to the left, just beyond the signals.
The new milepost 0, for the line to Keith, is to the right. The reverse curve suggests that the new
railway may not be exactly on the alignment of the old one.
The old formation has almost entirely disappeared under roads, paths and large piles of soil.
A last look at the station building, about 13:30.
Demolition well under way an hour later.
