Swansway clinch group and dealership titles
Swansway Garages was formed in April 2003 by Michael Smyth and his three sons David, Peter and John.
Prior to this Michael had built up a chain of petrol forecourts which were bought by Esso in the late 1980s. From 1967 he founded and built up the RRG Group, becoming the biggest Toyota and Lexus Group in Europe, along with a substantial Peugeot presence. Both Peter and John worked their way up in the business, learning the ropes from the bottom, upwards.
The group also expanded into contract hire, and with
the company becoming so successful it was sold in the late 1990s to Abbey National. After 33 years building the Franchised Dealer business up to 13 dealerships and 3 franchises, with a turnover of £190 million; Michael sold RRG Group to the Marubeni Corporation in 2000.
Swansway Garages Limited was incorporated in April 2003 and started trading in September 2003 following the acquisition
of LC Charles Ltd and Charles Crewe Ltd. The acquisition comprised the following single dealerships in Crewe, Cheshire.

The Swansway Group, now has nineteen dealerships
stretching from Birmingham in the South, to Preston in the North.
These centres sell and service new and used vehicles across thirteen brands; Audi
(3), Volkswagen (2), Honda (4), Peugeot (1), SEAT (1), Land Rover (1), FIAT (1), Abarth (1), Citroën (1), DS (1), Jeep (1),
Alfa Romeo (1) and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles (4), Jaguar will be joining us in early 2017.
Complementing the dealership network are two Accident Repair Centres, in Crewe and Wrexham, both approved repairers for numerous automotive brands and insurance companies; Swansway also operate Parts Depot, an eBay top rated Platinum Power seller. Buying obsolete vehicle parts and retailing them across the globe, this is a green and sustainable business.
In 2017 the Smyth family, who own and operate Swansway, will
celebrate 50 years in the motor industry; they remain committed to growth, both organically
and by taking the opportunities o ered by their brand partners; whilst maintaining the culture and ethos of a family owned and run business. The simple vision, which underpins the company’s strategic growth, is “to employ the best people, to sell the best brands, from the best locations”.

Latest government gures highlight company car challenge
The number of employees paying company car tax has increased for the rst time in
10 years, but the latest gures suggest that government tax policy is driving sta into older, dirtier and more dangerous grey eet vehicles, says the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association.
Recently released provisional data from HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) shows that 950,000 employees paid bene t- in-kind (BIK) tax on a company car in 2014/15 – a 1% rise on the 940,000 recorded in the previous nancial year. This is the rst time the number of people paying BIK on company cars has increased since 2006/7, but the BVRLA

believes these gures mask a more deep-rooted problem.
“Although the rise is welcome, it is disappointing that we only had growth of 1% during a period that saw a 500,000 increase in the UK workforce,” said BVRLA Chief Executive, Gerry Keaney.
“Company cars are amongst the newest, cleanest and safest vehicles on UK roads, but we believe uptake is being hindered by an ever-increasing tax burden.”
The 2014/15 increase puts the number of company car drivers on a par with that last seen in 2011/12, and shows the same number of drivers paying £150m or 12% more in company car tax. This tax burden has now
risen further after the government announced a two percentage point increase in company car tax in the 2015 Budget and cancelled plans to eliminate the 3% diesel surcharge, which is paid by 82% of drivers.
The BVRLA believes that this is leading to a growth in the ‘grey eet’, with many employees preferring to take a monthly allowance (also known as a ‘cash allowance’) as an alternative to
a company car. Research* into grey eet recently undertaken by the BVRLA and Energy Saving Trust suggests that the average cash allowance car is older, more polluting and has fewer safety features than the average leased company car.

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles: worldwide deliveries increase by 7% in rst half-year
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has recorded a signi cant growth of 7.0 per
cent in the rst six months of the year with worldwide deliveries of urban delivery vans, transporters and pick-ups totalling 238,800. Particularly successful during this period was the T model range with 100,300 vehicles delivered (+12.9 per cent). In the month of June alone, the brand was well ahead of last year’s gures with 43,700 vehicles delivered (+13.3 per cent).

of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles responsible for Sales and Marketing, said: “We are delighted by the good result for the rst six months. It shows that our models are in great demand
among our customers and that our sales measures are taking e ect. We are working hard
to maintain this course in the second half of the year as well.”
In the home market of Germany, 61,600 vehicles were handed over to customers in the rst two quarters (+5.6 per cent). The key European markets of Spain (up 32.7 per cent to 7,000 vehicles), Italy (up 29.1 per cent to 5,600 vehicles) and France (up 23.1 per cent to 9,900 vehicles) recorded even greater increases. In Eastern Europe, 16,700 vehicles were delivered. This is equivalent to an increase of 9.7 per cent.
Growth was also recorded in the regions of North America (up 22.5 per cent to 3,500 vehicles), the Middle East (up 6.2 per cent
to 17,100 vehicles) and South America (up 0.9 per cent to 18,000 vehicles).
Due to the continuing di cult conditions, deliveries up to the end of June fell by 8.7 per cent to 7,500 vehicles in Africa and by 5.5 per cent to 11,100 vehicles in the Asia-Paci c region.

New Fiat Qubo now available to order
The new FIAT Qubo MPV is now available to order in the UK, demonstrating once again the expertise and experience that FIAT has in designing and building cars that are compact on the outside but larger-than-life in terms of both personality and interior space.
Part of the functional family, alongside the popular Panda, versatile Doblo and all-new Tipo hatchback and station wagon, the new FIAT Qubo retains its 3.96m long and 1.7m wide dimensions meaning it continues to mate
the footprint of a supermini with the interior more like that of an MPV with ample room for ve adults and a capacious 250-litre boot – which grows to 650 litres when the parcel shelf is removed or an astonishing 2,500 litres
with the rear seats removed. Equipped with the optional folding of the front passenger seat,
the FIAT Qubo is even able to accommodate long objects of up to 2.5m in length.
A large hatchback tailgate not only allows easy access to the boot from every angle for loads of all shapes and sizes, it
also provides useful shelter in inclement weather making it ideal for shopping trips on rainy days. In total, there are 16 di erent seating con gurations with the rear seats accessed by practical sliding doors – perfect for tight parking spaces!
For 2016, the FIAT Qubo gets a new exterior look which, in keeping with the character of the car, combines Italian style with everyday practicality. The large, high-mounted headlamps, for example, help de ne the Qubo’s friendly face - now augmented
by a new “smiling” front grille and chunky new front bumper - also o ering improved night-time visibility and limiting the likelihood of damage in the event of a minor accident. Trekking versions also get new skid plates panels in the front and rear bumpers, as well as special side mouldings, both with silver inserts, and special Trekking alloy wheels with mud-and-snow tyres.
The tailgate is also revised, with the large circular recess giving way to a straight, at panel with a more elegant location for the FIAT
badge, while the gloss black trim is redesigned to accommodate tailgate release, illumination for the relocated number plate and bolder Qubo badge. The choice of exterior colours is enriched with two new hues, Magnetic Bronze and Azure Blue, while new wheel cover and alloy wheel designs complete the exterior revisions.
Inside, the new FIAT Qubo, the stylish and functional cabin bene ts from a new steering wheel design; black mirror- nish detailing on the steering wheel spokes and centre console surround; new instruments;
new seat upholstery and new infotainment options; including
a new Uconnect system with a ve-inch colour touchscreen and Bluetooth connectivity, USB and aux-in ports as well as the option of satellite navigation.
The new FIAT Qubo is
available in three trim levels:
Pop, Lounge and Trekking. Standard equipment on the
entry level Pop model includes remote central locking, electric front windows with one-touch lowering, electrically adjusted and adjustable door mirrors, body coloured bumpers and mirror covers, height-adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support and an arm rest and opening rear quarter- light windows. Safety equipment includes ABS with EBD, ESC with ASR, HBA, Hill Holder system and front and side airbags. The Pop version is powered exclusively by FIAT’s reliable and robust 77hp 1.4-litre petrol engine and is priced from £11,695 OTR.

Honest John honours Toyota Verso for best 'Real World MPG' performance
Leading consumer motoring website honestjohn.co.uk has bestowed its Best Real MPG Performer title on the Toyota Verso 1.6 D-4D in its 2016 awards.
During the past year, honestjohn.co.uk received more than 100,000 submissions from motorists about their cars’ fuel consumption, with owners of the exible and frugal Toyota MPV reporting the best economy. According to honestjohn.co.uk, the gures recorded by Verso drivers averaged out higher than the car’s o cial combined cycle performance of 62.8mpg.

Toyota Prius+ engineered for an even better driving experience
Toyota has introduced changes to Prius+ that take the quality of the driving experience to a higher level. The ground- breaking C-segment MPV – the world’s rst to provide seven seats with full hybrid power
– has undergone strategic revisions to its continuously variable transmission that secure quieter and more linear acceleration, more closely linking the driver’s use of the throttle to the increase in speed and the rise in the engine note.
Toyota’s engineers have been able to maintain acceleration performance while reducing engine revs by around 1,000rpm, by using more electric power to support the performance of the 1.8-litre VVT-i Atkinson cycle petrol engine. The result is a more relaxed, smoother and quieter drive, reinforcing the hallmark quiet, responsive and intuitive drive quality of Toyota’s full hybrid technology.
The characteristically quiet cabin environment has been further improved through a series of additional sound insulation and absorption measures introduced
in the door frames, the lower sections of the side and rear doors,
the dashboard and the vehicle platform. A tunnel
silencer has also been added. Using a compact, lithium-ion
hybrid battery located neatly between the front seats, Prius+ is able to provide generous space for up to seven on board and deliver the exceptional
fuel and emissions e ciency associated with Toyota’s full hybrid technology, with o cial combined cycle CO2 output from as low as 96g/km and fuel consumption of 68.9mpg. Prius+ is among eight hybrid and plug-in hybrid Toyota models available in the UK, meeting the requirements of a wide range of customers.
True to Toyota’s commitment to continuous improvement, the Toyota Touch 2 multimedia system in Prius+ has been upgraded to the latest 2016 iteration, unveiled at this year’s Geneva motor show. Using
the same, centrally mounted touchscreen, it has been made even simpler and more intuitive to use with new menu designs for both the overall system and (where
tted) its satellite navigation functions. Connection to the My Toyota on-line customer portal has also been made easier.
The Toyota Touch 2 with
Go package has been enriched with the inclusion of three
years of map and connectivity updates (and the customer option of a further two years’ extension). This ensures accurate routes can be planned, together with support from a wide range of apps providing up-to-the-minute information on tra c ow, parking availability, weather and fuel prices. Toyota’s system allows users
to link to a number of on-line resources, including Google Search, Google Streetview, Aupeo!, Aha and Twitter.
The 4.2-inch colour TFT multi-information display in the instrument binnacle is designed for clear communication of vehicle status data to the
driver with least distraction. This now includes an initial
key lock image that indicates the vehicle is ready to
be turned on and a warning when the
steering lock is engaged.

2016, Phantom Blue.

Seat announces UK pricing and speci cation for new-look Ibiza Cupra range
Twenty years on from the birth of its iconic CUPRA performance arm, which all started with an Ibiza, SEAT has con rmed UK pricing and speci cation for the latest version of its pocket rocket. Among several key changes
for the New Ibiza CUPRA are a new two-tier range, plus a raft of technical enhancements including a new engine with even more power and torque, plus the small matter of the reintroduction of a manual gearbox.
The New Ibiza CUPRA shows the essence of the SEAT brand in its purest form – emotional design, outstanding performance and state-of-the-art technology, combined to create one of the most dynamic and enjoyable hot superminis to live with.
Exclusively available in the SC (Sports Coupé) bodystyle, the new-look UK Ibiza CUPRA line-up will be available in two versions. Kicking things o is the standard
CUPRA for £18,100, £880 less than the previous model (with DSG transmission), rising to £18,900 for CUPRA Black, which is expected to be the best-selling version.
Among a series of changes with the New Ibiza CUPRA, arguably the two most telling are the switch to a six-speed manual gearbox, plus, a new, even more potent engine. In relation to the former, where 80% of the UK hot supermini class is stick shift- based, SEAT will be looking to make signi cant inroads.
On top of these alterations come larger front brakes,
plus CUPRA Drive Pro le with adjustable damping and steering, o ering two modes, Comfort and Sport.
Powering the halo model in the Ibiza line-up is a completely new engine. Out goes the previous supercharged 1.4, replaced by a 1.8 TSI pushing out an additional
12 PS, and crucially, a hefty dose of 70Nm additional torque, up to 320Nm, across a much broader rev range of 1,450 to 4,250 rpm. Performance is impressive with zero to 62 mph dispatched in just 6.7 seconds, before heading on to a top speed of 146 mph. At the same time, its potency doesn’t come at the expense of frugality, with fuel economy of 45.6 mpg on the combined cycle.

Yaris Hybrid top scores in the 2016 Which? Car Survey
The Toyota Yaris Hybrid has achieved a top rating in the 2016 Which? Car Survey, posting an 84 per cent positive result.
Yaris Hybrid’s success, matched only by one other model across the survey’s new car categories, is one highlight in a strong overall showing
for Toyota. It emerged as the best volume manufacturer for reliability and the second overall, behind Lexus, its luxury sister brand.
The survey is based on the experiences of almost 60,000 British car owners and provides a benchmark guide to both vehicle reliability and customer satisfaction. Its detailed analysis takes into account issues such as breakdowns, repair costs,
common faults and the number of days vehicles have had to be taken o the road to correct problems.
In its snapshot assessment of Yaris Hybrid, Which? declared the car is “easy to drive and reliable,” commending its suspension, interior space and design that makes it easy to get in and out of. The verdict was “a fantastic all-rounder that’s very reliable”.
Toyota models featured among the best new and used vehicle propositions across a wide range of vehicle types. Yaris Hybrid’s success was alongside top-six placings in their new car class for Aygo, Auris hatchback, Auris and Avensis Touring Sports, Prius+,
Verso and RAV4.
Among the survey’s used car
stars, Prius models were ranked rst and third in the large car category and Auris Hybrid the top pick among medium-size cars.

Toyota Prius acclaimed as Best Eco Car in 2016 Telegraph Cars Awards
The quality and breadth of Toyota’s environmental motoring technology has been doubly rewarded in the 2016 Telegraph Cars Awards with the new Prius named Best Eco Car, and the Mirai hydrogen fuel cell saloon taking one of two runner-up places in the category
The results reinforce the success of the fourth generation Prius, launched earlier this year, in raising the model’s fuel and emissions e ciency to new heights, while at the same time delivering greatly improved dynamic performance.
The Telegraph’s expert road test team which determined the
awards remarked: “Despite still feeling very much like a Prius, this model shows how Toyota has moved the game on enough for it to scoop the top honour ahead of some high-pro le rivals. The latest Prius is more e cient and surprisingly entertaining to drive.”
While Prius is well-established within the mainstream motoring market, Mirai is still in its rst year of introducing the exciting bene ts that can be achieved with hydrogen fuel technology. The world’s rst hydrogen fuel cell saloon, it was introduced
in the UK late last year, paving the way for a new generation of vehicles that produce no harmful
emissions when driven – water is the only by-product from Mirai’s powertrain.

Fiat Professional Talento announced
Equally at home in the city as it is criss-crossing the country on the open road, the all-new FIAT Professional Talento will be the perfect van for many businesses who demand the best of all worlds – compact exterior dimensions with impressive interior volume of up to 8.6m3 and a payload of up to 1,249kg; ample load-pulling performance combined with outstanding
fuel e ciency (47.9mpg / 5.9L/100km on the o cial combined cycle) and packed with features designed to improve the comfort, safety and productivity of the most precious cargo of all – the occupants.
From a design standpoint, the new Talento is compact and well-proportioned: the forward- stretching windscreen connects elegantly to the short bonnet and the overall e ect is one of an imposing and dynamic front end. The grille is designed to wrap around the headlights and
form a mask that together with the bumper and the grid conveys a solid and striking appearance, while o ering a functional element of protection at the same time. The squared-o rear end allows for ample inner space and a

In all, there are nine body styles to choose from – the standard- and high-roof vans

Innovative features include the “CargoPlus” storage area under the passenger seats which allows professionals to carry objects up to 3.75m in length (4.15 for LWB versions)
by sliding them into a special
bulkhead opening. Rear doors can open up to a wide angle
of 255° allowing easy access and usage of the loading bay while the sliding side door has an aperture of 1,030 mm and
a load edge just 100mm above the ground. The load volume equals 5.2m3 in short wheelbase models, 6m3 in long wheelbase versions and a generous 8.6m3 in the long wheelbase high-
roof derivative. This means that the Talento, even in the short wheelbase trim level, is capable of carrying three Euro pallets and, depending on the version, a payload of up to 1,249 kg with a GVW of up to 3,060kg.
The new FIAT Professional Talento is equipped with reliable, powerful and e cient 1.6-litre turbo and twin-turbo diesel engines, all equipped with a six-speed manual gearbox as standard. Employing Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology, a system which reduces nitrogen oxide emissions by injecting a solution of non- toxic, non- ammable AdBlue® into the exhaust gas.
FIAT Professional's new Talento is now on sale with prices, excluding VAT and OTR charges, starting at £19,795 for the 1.6-litre MultiJet 95hp SWB standard roof van. The 1.6-litre MultiJet 120hp SWB is priced
at £20,195 while the twin-turbo 1.6-litre EcoJet 125hp S&S is priced at £20,645. The range topping twin-turbo 1.6-litre EcoJet 145hp S&S is priced from £21,245.

Fiat Ducato takes additive- free route to Euro 6: lower emissions
The sixth generation of
the hugely successful FIAT Professional Ducato, which has notched up 2.9 million sales over six generations since it was rst launched in 1981, continues to set the segment benchmark not only in Europe but also in the 80 international regions in which it is on sale. It also sets the standard for motorhome base vehicles, accounting for 75 percent of motorhomes sold in Europe with more than 600,000 on the road to date.
To retain its leading role in the segment, the FIAT Professional Ducato was completely restyled in 2014 to accommodate the new requirements of customers, o ering more technology, more e ciency and more value,
as well as improvements in performance, active and passive safety, infotainment, durability, robustness and running costs.
For 2016 the FIAT Professional Ducato improves even further thanks to the introduction of a comprehensive range of class-leading Euro 6 engines, exclusively employing Low Pressure Exhaust Gas Recirculation system (LPEGR) to lower NOx emissions without the complexity, added weight and
additional costs associated with using emission additives.
LPEGR functions by channelling exhaust gasses away after the DPF, cooling them through a low-pressure EGR cooler and then recirculating them in advance of the turbo charger. LPEGR solution ideal for goods transport and campers where simplicity, reduced weight and low running costs are of paramount importance.
The FIAT Professional Ducato also bene ts from the addition of a new 2.0-litre 115hp MultiJet II LPEGR engine to replace the current Euro 5 2.3-litre MultiJet 110hp. O ering up to 47.9mpg on the o cial combined cycle and CO2 emissions of just 157g/km, this new entry-level engine represents a signi cant downsizing compared to
the engine it replaces but employs FIAT Professional’s latest technologies to o er improved e ciency and
lower running costs while improving performance and re nement. Similarly, the top- of-the-range 3.0-litre 180hp
has also been replaced by a new 180hp 2.3-litre MultiJet
II Power LPEGR, resulting it a considerable improvement in
fuel e ciency and emissions (46.3mpg on the o cial combined cycle and 160g/km), while the core 2.3-litre MultiJet 130hp and 150hp engines also adopt FIAT Professional’s exclusive LPEGR technology to ensure all FIAT Professional Ducato customers bene t from the brand’s latest technological advances.
Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR) is currently o ered on people carrier versions and uses AdBlue uid to convert nitrogen oxides (NOx) to non-harmful gases. The AdBlue ller is placed close to diesel cap behind the same fuel ap to make re lling the 15-litre tank as simple and straightforward as possible. Consumption of emission- reducing additives (UREA) can vary according to how the vehicle is used and is indicated on the instrument panel.
With excellent dynamics, comfort and best-in-class load and volume capacities, the new FIAT Doblò Cargo is available in four body-styles; two roof height options and two wheelbase lengths. It is now sold in more than 80 countries, including North America where it retails as the RAM Promaster City.

Roll up! Roll up! New-look Volkswagen city car is open for order
The exciting Volkswagen up! has been an acknowledged leader in the city car class since its launch in 2011. Setting the pace in its segment, strong sales around the world have underlined its credentials as a lively little car that’s practical, accessible, and fun. A punchy yet frugal three-cylinder 1.0-litre petrol engine o ered in one
of two states of tune, allied
to impressive packaging and smart styling, de ne the up! and these strengths have all been signi cantly enhanced in the new- look model.
A signi cantly broader range of exterior colours, decals and roof colours, allied to a large number of interior personalisation options, mean today’s up! can be carefully tailored to a buyer’s precise requirements, too, for the ultimate in city car individualisation.
The four-seat Volkswagen’s exterior changes focus on the front and rear of the car, which
is o ered in either three- or ve-door con guration. The
front has a new bumper, which gives the up! a mature look and works with the revised radiator grille and bonnet to give the
car a purposeful stance. The Volkswagen roundel is now chrome-on-black, the new LED running lights are an additional styling cue – enhancing safety, too – while the up!’s angular door mirrors and rear bumper has also been redesigned to give the di user a dramatic look.
External styling cues include bespoke colour combinations, Beats graphics and, depending on the colour of the car, red or black door mirrors. There’s also a subtle Beats badge on the B-pillar. Inside, the up! Beats has a 3D dashpad design, which includes the Beats logo, and a cream coloured interior.
The number of up! exterior paint colour options has increased from 10 to 13 and, of these, seven are new colours including ‘Costa Azul’, ‘Honey Yellow’ and ‘Savanna Gold’. The roof of the new up! can be coloured separately, via the new Roof Pack, in either black, white or ‘Urano Grey’. The Roof Pack also adds colour co-ordinated door mirrors and 65 per cent tinted rear side windows.
Volkswagen has packed the revised up! with class-leading features that come as standard. The range opens with the Take
up!: a car that includes the ‘Composition’ infotainment system, remote central locking, electric front windows and driver’s seat height adjustment. Those features alone are worth around £465 when compared to the equivalent spec on the previous model and yet the list price for the entry-level car is a mere £20 more than before at £8,995 (RRP OTR).
The High up! has the ‘Calzone’ design of 15-inch alloy wheels, a navigation interface and elegant ambient lighting mounted in the dash. The multi-function steering wheel allows the driver to access key controls – such as the radio – without taking his or her hands o the wheel. And the multi-function computer gives information about fuel economy, journey times
and expected mileage before refuelling is necessary. All of this additional equipment is worth around £380 compared to the previous model.

Volkswagen leads the way in 2016 Which? Car Guide ‘Best Buy’ categories
Volkswagen delivers an industry-leading performance
in the new car ‘best buy’ categories of prominent independent UK consumer body Which?.
The 2016 Which? Car Guide, published today, puts no fewer than four Volkswagen models top of their respective classes based on a combination of independent lab and road tests carried out by the Which? team, plus owner feedback gathered through the annual Which? Car Survey.
Among the Volkswagen models named as ‘best buys’ are two of the brand’s electric models: the e-up! and the e-Golf. Scooping the best buy in the City Car class is
the diminutive e-up! while the e-Golf’s performance in the Medium Car class led the experts at Which? to declare of it: “All the brilliance of a Golf, but battery powered.”
Another class-leading Golf
is the SV, which takes the MPV best buy honours in the 2016 guide. The family-focused car
is characterised as o ering “all the bene ts of a Golf and more; a ne ve seater”. Meanwhile the capacious and practical new Passat Estate is the German brand’s nal category leader in the 2016 Car Guide. It secured a ‘best buy’ in the Estate Car class, with Which? declaring of it: “A consummate all-rounder. [It] blends estate versatility
with the upmarket image of a
premium German saloon.”

The all-new Tiguan: accessorise your Volkswagen, your way

New Fiat Professional Fullback makes its UK debut at the Commercial Vehicle Show 2016
FIAT Professional’s all-new Fullback pick-up truck will
make its UK debut on the FIAT Professional stand G80 – Hall 5 at this year’s Commercial Vehicle Show held at Birmingham’s NEC (26-28 April, 2016).
Debuted at the 2015 Dubai International Motor Show, the new FIAT Professional Fullback is set to play a leading role
in its segment thanks to its winning characteristics of robust construction and reliability.
The new medium-duty pick- up will join the award-winning FIAT Professional range in June 2016, along with the new Talento and Fiorino, and will be available with a practical double cab
body style con guration in the UK making it an ideal vehicle for both commercial and leisure time activities.
Measuring 1,780mm in height, 1,815 mm in width and 5,285mm in length, with a
wheelbase of 3,000mm, the new FIAT Professional Fullback will o er a competitive payload up
to 1,045Kg and will be powered by a 2.4-litre, aluminium, turbo- diesel engine with a power output of either 150hp or 180hp. Two transmissions will be available, a new six-speed manual gearbox or a ve-speed automatic transmission with sports mode, and both will be combined with full four-wheel drive systems.
The new FIAT Professional Fullback will be available in the UK in two trim levels with pricing and speci cations to be announced closer to the vehicle’s launch in June 2016. The Fullback is FIAT Professional’s rst contender in the medium-duty pick-up truck segment. In the UK, 2015 sales
in the pick-up segment were up 18% with full year registrations totalling almost 40,000 units.

DAF XF awarded ‘Fleet Truck of the Year’
The DAF XF has been voted ‘Fleet Truck of the Year 2016’ at the prestigious ‘Motor Transport Awards’ in London, giving DAF its sixth win in the last nine years. DAF was handed the award at an o cial ceremony, which was attended by 1,600 leading representatives from the transport industry.

Acknowledged as the industry ‘Oscars’, the Motor Transport Awards recognize

Practical: outstanding functionality and everyday utility
The optimal dimensions
of the new Crafter ensure maximum practicality and
ease in everyday situations.
For example, the new vehicle combines extensive cargo capacity with minimal external dimensions, making it extremely manoeuvrable yet solid in its handling, regardless of payload.
Flexible: multiple engine and drivetrain variants
The new Crafter now o ers an extremely wide range of derivatives. The new "EA 288Nutz" 2.0-litre TDI engine, developed especially for this model, is available with four power outputs: 102 PS, 122 PS and 140 PS, plus a bi-turbo TDI with 177 PS.
The choice of engines depends on which drive system is selected. Here customers have a choice between
front, rear and all-wheel drive (4MOTION), as well as the option of a manual or automatic gearbox. Such variety has never been seen before in this segment.
There are also up to three di erent vehicle lengths available depending on the model chosen, while the closed body variants come with up to three di erent roof heights. This means customers can con gure their new Crafter exactly in line with their speci c requirements and nd the right combination of engine, gearbox, drive system,
vehicle length and roof height to meet their needs.
New standards: wide variety of driver assistance systems The new Crafter sets new
standards for assistance systems in the large van sector; not for the sake of it, but to optimise occupant protection through the use of active
and passive safety concepts regardless of payload.
This is made possible in large part due to an electro- mechanical steering system used for the rst time in this vehicle class which means active driver assistance systems, such as ESP with trailer stabilisation, ACC Adaptive Cruise Control, post- collision braking system, side wind compensation system and a trailer manoeuvring assistant system among others are all available.
In terms of passive safety, front, side and head airbags for the driver and passengers and an extensive range of warning systems that includes a reversing camera, parking
distance monitor and the Rear Tra c Alert system are also on o er. LED headlights, cornering lights and Light Assist ensure
a clear view of the road ahead at night, while the Crafter also comes with online services that are tailored to the speci c needs of customers.
New factory: bespoke Crafter plant
A new production facility was built in Wrzesnia, Poland, especially for the new Crafter. The facility is the brand's second production location
in Poland; the other is the Volkswagen plant in Poznan- Antoninek, which has been operating for more than 20 years now.
The Crafter plant occupies an area of approximately 540 acres – or around 300 football elds. More than 3,000 people will work at the Wrzesnia plant when the facility is operating at full capacity. Several
supply companies will also open up factories in the area, creating additional jobs for the surrounding region.
