  ถงึ ช่วงเทศกาลออกพรรษาของทุกปี ทจ่ี งั หวดั ตามจนิ ตนาการบวกกบั ความคดิ สรา้ งสรรค์  และ
สรุ าษฎรธ์ านี จะมกี ารจดั งานบุญประเพณที ย่ี งิ่ ใหญ่ ภูมิปญั ญาท้องถ่ิน เป็นรูปสตั ว์ในวรรณคดี บ้าง
ขน้ึ  คอื  “งานประเพณีชกั พระ ทอดผา้ ป่า  แขง่ เรอื เป็นพญานาค หงส ์ พญาครุฑ บา้ งหนุมาน นัยว่า
ยาวฯ” เพอ่ื เป็นการรว่ มทำ� บุญเน่ืองในเทศกาลออก เป็นราชพาหนะของพระพุทธเจ้า  จากนัน้ ก็น�ำ
พ ร ร ษ า   ภ า ย ใ ต้   ค ว า ม ร่ ว ม มือ ข อ ง ห น่ ว ย ง า น บุษบกขน้ึ ประดบั  เรยี กว่า “นมพระ” หรอื พนมพระ
ทัง้ ภาครัฐ / เอกชน และประชาชนในจังหวัด ก่อนน�ำพระพุทธรูปขน้ึ ประดษิ ฐานบนบุษบกเพ่อื
สรุ าษฎรธ์ านี ทส่ี บื ทอดกนั มายาวนาน ท� ำ ก า ร ส ร ง น้� ำ  แ ล ะ พ ร้อ ม ท่ีจ ะ ร่ ว ม ข บ ว น แ ห่ ใ น
  กลา่ วถงึ ประเพณชี กั พระ ทอดผา้ ปา่  แขง่ เรอื ยาวฯ วนั แรม ๑ ค่ำ� เดอื น ๑๑ (หลงั วนั ออกพรรษา ๑ วนั )
จงั หวดั สุราษฎร์ธานี  ถือเป็นประเพณีท่ีย่ิงใหญ่ ซ่ึงเป็ นวันท่ีพระพุทธเจ้าเสด็จลงจากสวรรค์
และเก่าแก่  ก�ำหนดจัดข้ึนในช่วงเทศกาล ชนั้ ดาวดงึ ส์มายงั โลกมนุษย์  นอกจากน้ียงั มกี าร
วนั ออกพรรษา เป็นเวลารวม ๙ วนั ๙ คนื โดยกวา่ ประดบั ประดาตกแต่งพุ่มผ้าป่าซ่ึง  มีท่ีเดียวใน
หน่ึงเดอื นก่อนถงึ วนั ออกพรรษา  ทางวดั และชาว ประเทศไทย เรยี กว่า พุ่มผา้ ป่าหน้าบา้ น ขน้ึ ทวั่ ทุก
บ้านในชุมชนต่างๆ  ทวั่ ทงั้ จงั หวดั สุราษฎร์ธานี มุมเมืองในเขตเทศบาลนครสุราษฎร์ธานี  ทัง้
จะช่วยกันจัดเตรียมเรือพระบกและเรือพระน้�ำ หน่วยงานราชการองคก์ รต่างๆ  สถาบนั การศกึ ษา
ซ่งึ วดั ทอ่ี ยู่ตดิ แม่น้�ำล�ำคลองกจ็ ะใชเ้ ป็นเรอื พระน้�ำ อาคารบา้ นเรอื น  โดยการจดั จ�ำลองฉากเป็นภาพ
ในขณะเดียวกนั บางวดั ก็มที งั้ ทางบกและทางน้�ำ พทุ ธประวตั ิ หรอื พทุ ธชาดก ประดบั ประดาตกแตง่
น�ำมาประดบั ตกแต่งลวดลายอย่างประณีตงดงาม ดว้ ยวสั ดตุ า่ งๆ ประกอบแสง ส ี เสยี ง

และทข่ี าดไมไ่ ด ้ คอื ตอ้ งมตี น้ ไมส้ ำ� หรบั แขวนเครอ่ื ง ตลอดเสน้ ทางทข่ี บวนผา่ น ในขณะเดยี วกนั ขบวน
อฏั ฐะบรขิ าร  (พุ่มผ้าป่า)  ท�ำให้ภายในคนื ออก เรอื พระน้�ำก็จะตงั้ ร้วิ ขบวนล่องมาตามล�ำน้�ำตาปี
พรรษา  ทวั่ เขตตวั เมอื งสุราษฎรธ์ านี จะคกึ คกั ไป นั บ เ ป็ น ภ า พ ท่ีส ว ย ง า ม แ ล ะ ห า ช ม ไ ด้ท่ีจัง ห วัด
ด้วยประชาชนและนักท่องเท่ียวออกมาเดินชม สุราษฎร์ธานีทเ่ี ดยี ว  เป็นทป่ี ระทบั ใจแก่ผูเ้ ฝ้าชม
พุ่มผ้าป่าหน้าบ้านและพุ่มเมือง  และในรุ่งเช้า เม่อื รถพนมพระคนั สุดท้ายท�ำการชกั ลากเสร็จก็
ของวันแรม  ๑ ค่�ำ เดือน ๑๑  เวลาประมาณ เป็นเวลาพลบค่�ำพอดี  ขบวนเรือพระบกและ

ทไ่ี ดร้ บั เวลา ๐๘.๐๐ นาฬกิ า กจ็ ะถงึ เวลาชกั พระ โดยการหยอดเหรียญลงในบาตร  นับเป็นการ
ขบวนเรอื พนมพระบกกวา่ ๑๐๐ ลำ� จากวดั ตา่ งๆ ท่ี ท�ำบุญได้ถึงร้อยวดั ภายในวนั เดยี วนักท่องเท่ยี ว
ทยอยมาตงั้ ขบวนตงั้ แต่เยน็ วนั ออกพรรษา  ก็จะ และผแู้ สวงบุญสามารถมารว่ มทำ� บุญหยอดเหรยี ญ
เรม่ิ ทำ� การชกั พระแหส่ มโภชไปตามเสน้ ทางในเขต เรือพนมพระได้ตงั้ แต่วนั ข้นึ   ๑๕ ค่�ำ  เดือน ๑๑
ตวั เมอื งสรุ าษฎรธ์ านี โดยการชกั ลากของชาวบา้ น (เรอื พนมพระเดนิ ทางเขา้ งาน)  จนถงึ วนั สุดท้าย
จากชุมชนของวัดต่างๆ  มีขบวนแห่ท่ีสวยงาม ของงาน รวม ๖ วนั  และน่ีคอื ความมหศั จรรย์แห่ง
แต่งกายตามวฒั นธรรมประเพณี  สองขา้ งถนน เมอื งคนดี  ดงั ค�ำขวญั ท่วี ่า “เท่ยี วเมอื งร้อยเกาะ
มีชาวบ้านและนักท่องเท่ียวต่างยืนรอชมความ เลาะคลองรอ้ ยสาย ไหวพ้ ระรอ้ ยวดั มหศั จรรยเ์ มอื ง
งดงาม บา้ งกเ็ ขา้ ไปรว่ มชกั ลากและสมโภชทำ� บุญ คนด”ี

เทศกาลออกพรรษา และชกั พระทางน้�ำ  เป็นการจ�ำลอง
ตำ� นานงานชกั พระฯ เหตุการณ์ตามเร่อื งราวใน  “เทโวโรหน
สตู ร” กล่าวไวว้ ่า ประเพณีแห่พระหรอื
  เม่อื ถงึ วนั ออกพรรษาของทุกปี  ชกั พระสบื เน่ืองมาแต่ครงั้ สมยั พุทธกาล
จงั หวดั สุราษฎรธ์ านี จะมงี านบุญทส่ี ำ� คญั พระพุทธเจา้ เสดจ็ ขน้ึ ไปจ�ำพรรษา ณ
และยง่ิ ใหญ่ เป็นทร่ี จู้ กั กนั ทวั่ ไปทงั้ ชาว สวรรคช์ นั้ ดาวดงึ ส์ เพ่อื แสดงธรรมโปรด
ไทยและชาวต่างประเทศคอื งานประเพณี พุทธมารดา ครนั้ ถงึ วนั ออกพรรษา จงึ ทรง
ชกั พระ - ทอดผา้ ป่าและแขง่ เรอื ยาว  เป็น เสดจ็ ลงมาจากดาวดงึ สพ์ ภิ พสโู่ ลกมนุษย ์
ประเพณีทเ่ี ป็นเอกลกั ษณ์ของทอ้ งถน่ิ ซง่ึ โดยมบี นั ไดทพิ ย์ ทงั้ ๓ ไดแ้ ก่
ไดอ้ นุรกั ษ์สบื ทอดมาแต่บรรพบุรุษนับรอ้ ย ๑. บันไดทอง อย่ทู างขวามอื   เป็นท่ี
ปี จนนับไดว้ ่าเป็นมรดกแห่งศลิ ป ลงแห่งฝงู เทพยดา ทต่ี ามเสดจ็
วฒั นธรรมและจารตี ประเพณีของจงั หวดั ๒. บันไดเงิน อย่ทู างซา้ ยมอื   เป็นท่ี
โดยเฉพาะ ลงแห่งหม่พู รหม
  ชักพระ  หมายถงึ   การชกั หรอื ลาก ๓. บันได้แก้ว อย่ทู ่ามกลาง  เป็น
พระโดยทางวดั จะถอื เอาวนั ออกพรรษา  ทางเสดจ็ ของพระพุทธเจา้
ซง่ึ ตรงกบั วนั แรม ๑ ค่ำ�   เดอื น ๑๑ 
อญั เชญิ พระพุทธรปู ใหพ้ ุทธศาสนิกชนชกั

ประเพณชี กั พระ กองศาสนพธิ  ี จดั สลากเรยี งเลขเป็น  ๒ 
  ประเพณีชกั พระฯ ของจงั หวดั ชุด ชุดแรกแจกเจา้ ของพุ่มผา้ ป่า อกี ชุด
สุราษฎรธ์ านีท�ำกนั ทงั้ ทางบก – ทางน้�ำ  หน่ึงมเี ลขพุ่มผา้ ป่าและช่อื เจา้ ของพุ่ม  จดั
ก่อนถงึ วนั ออกพรรษา แต่ละปี วดั และ ไปถวายตามวดั ต่างๆ เท่าจ�ำนวนพระ
ชาวบา้ นทอ่ี ยู่ ในละแวกใกลเ้ คยี ง ช่วยกนั ภกิ ษุทจ่ี �ำพรรษาอยู่
จดั เตรยี ม รถ เรอื ประดบั ประดาตกแต่ง   เม่อื ถงึ วนั ขน้ึ ๑๕ ค่�ำ เดอื น ๑๑ ตงั้ แต่
สวยงาม  แลว้ อญั เชญิ พระพุทธรปู หวั ค่ำ� เป็นตน้ ไป  อาคารบา้ นเรอื นและ
ประดษิ ฐานบนบุษบก (นมพระ) บนเรอื รา้ นคา้ จะจดั พุ่มผา้ ป่าประดบั ประดาดว้ ย
พระ รถพระ เม่อื ถงึ วนั ออกพรรษาแรม ๑  ไฟหลากสสี วยงาม และตกแต่งเป็นเร่อื ง
ค่ำ� เดอื น ๑๑  ชาวบา้ นจะท�ำบุญตกั บาตร ราวพุทธชาดก  เกย่ี วกบั นรกสวรรค์ มี
อาหารคาวหวาน  ซง่ึ ตอ้ งมขี นมชนิดหน่ึง  ภาพเขยี น ภาพปนั้ บางพุ่มจะมคี นรวม
เรยี กว่า ขนมตม้ ต่อจากนัน้ จะเรม่ิ ชกั เรอื กนั หลายๆ คน ร่วมกนั จดั เป็นพุ่ม
พระ - รถพระ ออกจากวดั ไปสมโภช    หน่ึงสงิ่ ทข่ี าดไมไ่ ดใ้ นการจดั พมุ่ ผา้ ปา่  
พรอ้ มกบั ตกี ลองโพนไปตลอดทาง  เพ่อื คอื ผา้ ๑ ผนื หอ้ ยไวบ้ นพุ่มไม้ สำ� หรบั
ประกาศใหร้ วู้ ่ามกี ารชกั พระแลว้ ภกิ ษุชกั เป็นผา้ บงั สุกุล และปิ่นโต  ๑  เถา
  การทอดผา้ ป่าในจงั หวดั สุราษฎรธ์ านี พรอ้ มอาหาร เพราะในวนั นัน้ พระจะไม่
โดยเฉพาะในเขตอ�ำเภอเมอื งหรอื บา้ น ออกบณิ ฑบาตตามปกติ เหตุน้ีจงึ เรยี กพุ่ม
ดอน จะแตกต่างไปจากทอ้ งถน่ิ อ่นื   คอื   ผา้ ป่า ในวนั น้ีว่า “ผา้ ป่าขา้ วสุก” นอกจาก
การทอดผา้ ป่าหน้าบา้ น  ท�ำตดิ ต่อกนั มา นัน้ ยงั มขี องอ่นื ๆ เช่น ร่ม ไฟฉาย พดั
นานจนกระทงั่ สมยั ท่ี “ขนุ โชคชยั การ” ฯลฯ รวมทงั้ ปจั จยั แลว้ แต่ศรทั ธาของ
เป็นก�ำนัน ต.ตลาด อ.เมอื ง มกี ารทอด เจา้ ของพุ่มนัน้ ๆ
ผา้ ป่าในวนั ลากพระน้�ำ  เป็นทส่ี นุกสนาน   การแขง่ ขนั เรอื ยาว  ซง่ึ มคี วบคกู่ บั งาน
แต่กเ็ ลกิ รากนั ไป  ในปี  พ.ศ. ๒๔๖๗ ประเพณชี กั พระ – ทอดผา้ ปา่   สรา้ งความ
“นางพยอม  สารสนิ ”  ไดช้ กั ชวนใหม้ กี าร สนุกสนานและสสี นั บรรยากาศในลำ� น้�ำตาปี
ทอดผา้ ป่าหน้าบา้ นขน้ึ มาอกี ท�ำอย่หู ลายปี อกี ทงั้ การแขง่ ขนั เรอื พาย และการประกวด
จนกระทงั่ ชราภาพ เทศบาลเมอื ง เรอื แตง่   จากประเพณกี ารแขง่ ขนั เรอื ยาวใน
สุราษฎรธ์ านีรบั เป็นผจู้ ดั   ครนั้ ปี  พ.ศ.  แมน่ ้�ำตาปีเป็นจดุ กำ� เนดิ เรอื ยาวทม่ี ชี อ่ื เสยี ง
๒๕๓๐  จงั หวดั สุราษฎรธ์ านี  เหน็ ว่างาน ทงั้ ชาวไทยและชาวตา่ งประเทศ คอื เรอื เจา้
