Message from

Rector

On the occasion of the 21st Foundation Anniversary of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences,
Thammasat University on the 21st of February 2016, I, in my capacity as Representative of the
University Executive Board, do hereby extend all the best wishes to the executives, lecturers, staff
members, students, and alumni of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences. The many successes of the
Faculty concerning academic performance, research, and social services have been achieved by the
joint persistent efforts and sacrifices of all involved parties and, as a result, the Faculty of Allied Health
Sciences has benefited from continued growth and national and international recognition.
Over the past 21 years, l have easily perceived the continuous development in different areas
of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, particularly so in the areas of student-centered learning and
instructional management, researches, and social services. Also noted is the important promotion of the
English language in all curricula to improve the language skills of the students, instillation of self-learning
and knowledge integration capacities. Furthermore, the Faculty has promoted the inter-institutional
exchange of learning/teaching and research abilities by initiating academic partnerships with local and
international educational institutions.
The demonstrated performance of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences indicates its
active participation in the development of Thammasat University as a leading educational institution
recognized locally and abroad.
This shall include the production of graduates with Bachelor’s, Master’s and/or Doctoral’s

degrees in Medical Technology, Physical Therapy, Sports and Exercise Sciences, Sports Coaching, Sports
Management, and Forensic Science.
Moreover, the Faculty has established a Health Care Service Center (HCSc) comprising Medical
Technology Research and Service Unit, Physical Therapy and Hydrotherapy Unit, Sports Science and
Sports Rehabilitation Unit which provide integrated, modern health services at international standards.
On this occasion, l wish all lecturers, personnel, students and alumni prosperity in all areas, good health,
successinallmissionsandsustaineddeterminationtoimprovethequalityoftheFacultyofAlliedHealthSciences.

Message from

Dean

The Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Thammasat University will celebrate its 21st
Foundation Anniversary on The 21st of February 2016. Especially, in the last three years the
administration of the Faculty has been enhanced to ensure the continued prosperity in education and
research and to strengthen academic services and international collaboration.
The Faculty has established management rules and mechanisms in accordance with the
university strategy and annual public service plans. They have been followed up by periodic internal
audits until they were accepted by Thammasat University as a role model for faculty management in
learning and teaching.
In respect of scientific research, the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences is committed to
become a leading research institution of the country and to be internationally recognized. The Faculty
has continuously allocated scholarships to promote its scientific staff, who in return have received
a substantial number of research awards at both national and international level.Academically, the
Faculty has opened new curricula at Bachelor’s, Master’s and Ph.D. level, offering at present ten
Thai and English programs. In this year, it is planned to open two new programs, firstly Radiological
Technology and secondly Biomedical Engineering. Thus, the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences provides
students, lecturers, and researchers with a rich set of sciences and opportunities to learn, teach, and
do research.

With regard to academic services including to the public, the Faculty has set up a health care
service center that provides laboratory tests and analysis services, physical therapy, and sport science
services. All units are equipped with modern instruments at international standards and can generate
sustainable income for the Faculty. Moreover, these instruments are also used in learning and teaching
and as a result will benefit the practical clinical skills of the students.
In addition, the Faculty has initiated the Thammasat Golf Program for Senior Executives
to develop the sport of golf but also as a social meeting point of people interested to help in the
development of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences.
International collaboration has been promoted by the Faculty through memorandums of
understanding signed with local and international educational institutions and organizations. This
has been regarded as a significant success in establishing academic and research networks and as a
major step for the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences to raise its academic and research potentials to an
international level.
The many successes of the Faculty have been achieved by the cooperation of personnel at
all levels and l hereby appreciate all parties involved in all operations so that the Faculty shall have
a appreciate all parties involved in all operations continuous development and shall achieve the
objectives of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences and of Thammasat University.

roles for providing qualified students, knowledge, health
PHILOSOPHY service, and forensic services to the community and the
nation using integreated health science, sport science as
well as forensic sciences. the students are expected to
possess and develop knowledge, skills, and critical thinking
combined with a moral discipline and a positive attitude
towards the profession.

University is one of the leading nation and international in-
stitutions of academic and research excellence with moral
commitment for the goodness of society.

MISSION

1. Prepare professional graduate with academic excellence and moral discipline and ethical
standard.
2. Develop the research and knowledge necessary and useful for the country’s development
with an emphasis on practical and integrated studies of allied health sciences.
3. Provide professional and educational services, and disseminake knowledge to the society for
sustainable development on health care and health promotion, and forensic sciences to support
criminal justice system.
4. Improve management efficiency based on the principles of good governance as well as
happiness at workplace combining with raising Thai culture.

for both staff and students.

Academic Service Section

Faculty of Allied Health Sciences,
Thammasat University corporate with Rangsit City

and quality of life for people staying in the commu-
nity. This project has taken four years continuously
and also focused on providing health education and
appropriate public health responses to clusters.
The staffs of our faculty are willing to serve the
society.
In 2016 the faculty of allied health
sciences had free many academic service projects,
such as health check-up offered to monks and
community fitness program to people in
community. Apart from this, we produced
self health care handbooks for people in
community. The results of health check-up
offered to monks found that over 75 percent
of monks were satisfied with this project. In
addition, the new knowledge from
academic service were used for application alongside
teaching and research. The student had
establishing and developing knowledge from
services based learning in many subjects.
Moreover, our faculty has the health care
service center which was set up for service
learning center, resource for research and health
services. The health care service center consists of
three major sectors including physiotherapy and
hydrotherapy centers, medical technology service
and sports science service.

Health Care Service Center (HCSC)

Medical Technology Research and Service Unit

This Unit provides several clinical laboratory services including detection of real-time
Tuberculosis (TB) in body fluid and tissue, heavy metal analysis, and routine and special blood tests
for the people. In addition, we also give services for annual health check-up programs such as blood
tests, urine alysis (UA), mobile chest X-ray, audiometry, lung function test, and occupational vision
test. A numbers of these tests were performed in 2016 as follow.
